- In this video I will break down what the XPR dual injector kit does to the Yamaha YZ250F engine character from Fox Raceway. If you're in the market to purchase a mod for your YZ250F, watch this video. Yes, this mod will work for your 2024-2025 YZ250F and only accepts the 250F airbox. A 450F airbox will not work with this specific kit. As always, if you have any questions please email us through our website. Keeferinctesting.com

I love my 450. You can actually control how fast the motorcycle goes by giving it more or less gas using the throttle located on the right hand side of the handlebar 👌.
Underrated comment. :)
Nope. Gotta have an aftermarket ecu or every 450 is unrideable 🙄All that R&D and multiple options are just not enough. Will cost you multiple positions...
I am a vet C rider and I support this message
@@KlintonSilvey If someone is saying they “NEED” an ECU on a 450 to ride one then that’s a problem. Do aftermarket ECU’s help? Of course. Do you need one? Of course not. Yamaha does a great job with their Power Tuner app to give the customer some nice parameters to play with that actually do help. However if you want to go further then there’s other options. If that option is not for you, continue to live your life and ride your dirt bike. There’s always tons of stock ECU map options on our site. Happy New Year.
@@Keeferinctesting I was just being sarcastic. These stock bikes are really good and ultimately that ecu in your right wrist can do a lot
Seems like a good combo of mods . Sure it's worth it
It's almost like a YZ350 would be great for vet dudes. My uncle races vet A class and has always said he thinks my YZ450 is just too much for him at 40 years old but the 250 is lacking. I think a 2 smoke 250 or KTM 350 will be my choice when I move to the vet class down the road...if I dont break too many more bones
@@Peanutdenver YZ350 would be amazing. New video on taming your YZ450 up Friday.
Thanks for the content. I love the vids but the thumbnails are the ultimate vet rider giveaway. Lol straight from 2007😂
That is a good kit. It makes me happy that lots of smart people come up with this good stuff for Moto's. The noise of the intake may be really loud because it is getting sucked thru a heap of holes. It may be better with slots instead of holes or maybe bigger holes. Try them all at once it might start whistling DIXE bro. And with the price of mufflers There is no way in hell I am paying over $1000 Strailian for a muffler. My Original KTM muffler does it's job perfectly after 23yrs of service. And It's prettymuch 3/4 aftermarket spec as standard any way. Also I think you used the SHORT SHIFTING term incorrectly. Short shifting is when you shift early in the revs on vehicles that have strong bottom end then die in the ass at high revs.
I think you should of said QUICK SHIFTING. Quick shifting is when a vehicle makes the most power in the top end of the revs and gets there very quickly you have to shift quickly. And often, to stay in the power. I have riding and more content on my channel iffen anyone is interested. Great video mate. KEEP IT REAL ON THE BACK WHEEL 🤙
@@RandomRants525 Short shifting means you must shift early on this particular model because it goes through the power quick. So in order to get around the track in a quicker manner shirt shifting this machine is optimal. This is just the term we’ve used in R&D for engines that spool up quickly. “Short shifting” is a “rider” term not a mechanical term. Good stuff RandomRants and good comment Thanks for watching.
@Keeferinctesting All good 👍. Subbed.

Would love to see a set up like this from some of the Scottish boys .
Should have put up the dyno pull
Yes the 2 injectors do have lots of benefits but good to know some numbers
Torque curves or it didn't happen.
Is it difficult to receive the global gain ???
Great job on video
The best yz250f "upgrade" for $1100 is to buy a 450 instead 😂.
I wish I did the same with my "VET FRIENDLY" 350. Looking for more pep, I added full fmf and will be adding a vortex ecu. This will end up costing me $3kAUD on top of the original purchase price, and the 450 was $500 cheaper at the time of sale! 😂
Not true. I'm also in Aus. We don't have the fast, open flowing moto tracks that they do in the US. The 350 is a way better option. Especially once you get that Vortex on there. Show up to ride and the track is ripped deep, rutted with a bunch of tight turns and switchbacks, and you want to last more than 1 lap, the 350 is the ultimate bike. 450s are just way too much bike !!!
Kris Keefer/Mosiman "Good Times !" 😂😂😂😂
Yamaha needs a yz300! I'm gonna get the dual injector kit for my 250f but I want a 300! Check out the fantic 300!
I'm very familiar with 2023 350xcf, 2021 350xcf, and 2023 300xc.
The new 350 has a ton of power and hit. I love it for wide open riding like a moto track. But it's a lot in tight woods. I love the 300 for tighter woods obviously but I prefer to be lazy with shifting, I love the long power band of the 350.
I recently rode a well set up 2021 250fx in the woods and loved it. It handled so much better than my 350 in the woods (I have very nice suspension). Plenty of power everywhere. I want a 2025 250fx but wonder if I'll be disappointed by the bottom end. Maybe not an issue for the woods compared to MX testing...?
@@tkrey23 I think a well running 250F in the woods could be a weapon. Lightweight feel with enough torque to lug you around sounds enticing.
@@Keeferinctesting Absolutely! I'm just wondering how the 2025 250fx compares to the 2021 I rode recently. I've seen the claims that the new bike has lost some bottom end but not sure it will really matter that much for me in the woods
Happy new year to you and your family keefer. 💯
Would love to see a ktm 350 or 450 with a dual injector
Has anyone actually posted dyno numbers?
We need a video on how to fit these I’ve got one waiting in my workshop…

Bike of the year - here how to fix it 😳🤪🙄
@@thomasdixon7152 BOY is a stretch but if you’re Matthes I guess this statement could be true. 😂
Interesting idea but I'm kind of confused of what a second injector would do. Atomize the fuel better? That fuel has to travel a long ways. If they wanted it richer couldn't they just up the stock injector in ecu?
It cools the air, so more air density smaller injector so better fuel atomisation than 1 big dog
So there is benefits
But most of the go probably just the vp haha
I wana compare this kit vs twisted wirh 450 air box
Hey Chris, Happy New Year from the vet dudes up here in Norcal. I've been considering the injector kit, airbox mod and Vortex on the same bike. Been thinking about adding a 270 big bore as well. Ultimate 250F vet bike, or is the big bore kit taking anything away from these mods? Thanks brother!
I have tried a YZ270F BB and it was great but didn't rev as good as modified 250F with 2nd injector/Vortex/HC piston. If you're looking for more torque than rev then going to a 270 kit with these mods is great! The one I tried was a Twisted Development build.
How would this compare to a KTM 350 on the bottom. I’m a vet rider getting back in the sport. Currently on a YZ250 2T. I don’t need the insane top end horsepower of the 350, but added torque down low for corners would be great. Torn between a YZ250f or an orange 350.
I have a 350 and I absolutely love it. I'd like the suspension a whole heap better, but that's a different story. I rode a mate's Yam 250F on Sunday, and while the suspension and chassis feel was great, it's way underpowered compared to the 350. The 250F requires you to shift it a lot and really change your mentality in how you ride. You need to be aggressive and rev it hard, and shift lots. Which is fine in theory, but for us slightly older guys, it's a lot easier said than done. I had been considering going Yamaha again just based on chassis and suspension feel, but I just absolutely love the 350 motor. For me to go Yamaha, I'd have to go 250F and spend a heap of coin on the motor, and the continued expense of maintaining that motor with work done to it doesn't excite me at all.
@ thanks Bruce, I really appreciate you replying.
In your maps what do you set your rev limit to?
The only thing that I severely dislike about these videos is it’s like hey we are testing the dual injector kit but it also comes with a drilled out airbox and power flow kit oh and it has an fmf exhaust. How can you determine its effects if it’s not just a one for one swap. Dual injector and tuned ecu for it with the oe style cover and backfire screen. Otherwise the airbox is probably doing more than the injector
So to simplify this a bit for you. I spoke about the FMF exhaust in this. YOU DON'T NEED IT! This kit will work without it. The FMF does "XYZ" with this kit. That was explained. We used a stock air filter/stock screen and not a Powerflow kit. That was shown. I tested with NON drilled cover and cover and findings were minimal on track, except for a more pleasant sound with no holes drilled out. I also have just tested the drilled out cover on our website with nothing else and gave those findings. So I guess at some point you will either have to trust in what I am saying or take it with a grain of salt. That part is up to you. You're only as good as who you trust. If it's not me, I get it, there are others out there that may be better for you. Happy New Year!
@@Keeferinctesting No i totally trust you and I saw the clarifying part about the pipe. I guess I jumped to some conclusions and probably didn't state that properly. I mean some of it can get confusing not so much on your end but on the performance products end in the sense that you don't really know how much each individual part does if its always paired with other things. since us broke guys like the best bang for the buck. that's all and thanks for the response. Happy New Year too! EX: dual injector has to be mapped obviously but mapped pump vs race fuel. What's doing more the injector or the upgraded fuel? Then how does the fuel map change the ignition timing vs a stock pump gas map. It is probably way too complicated to do a shootout on something like that to really break it down and I'd never expect you to. That's all I meant. Hope I didn't offend!
@@halvorsonmx No ill will taken. Just making sure you understand where we are coming from. 🤙🏻

im having a hard time wrapping my head around how the second injector helps bottom end. Correct me if im wrong, but usually the second injector doesnt activate until the engine reaches a certain RPM which is usually well into the mid range.
@@sojersey2v It phases in at 6000rpm which is quite quick on a 250F. This RPM is felt on low end on this model.
you said the reliability was not 100%. So what is the reliability issue that keeps it from being 100 percent
@@randytidwell5836 Anytime you add horsepower and add rev cut it will take away a little reliability. It also depends on how you ride it.
How’s bout dual dual injectors
Everyone bashes on ktm but you don’t need 1700 on mods to make the engine hits good!!! That’s before the muffler, bars, grips, clutch, airbox mod and ear plugs 😂, makes a spring insert which is all you need literally, seem cheap
@@E63s_Scott You’re right about a KTM engine. You’ll just have to spend 1700 on your suspension. A “good” spring conversion is also not cheap. Yin and Yang.
Price is every thing. Modes are cheep stay away from 2 injector set up. Just keep spark arrested in bust compresion must run race gas.
What if you just run premium fuel and not race gas? Understandably it'll be less but is it just then a waste of money if that all I'd run? Thanks!
@@JasonNaughton XPR says that pump fuel does atomize as well as a T4 type fuel but yes you can run, just will not have as much pick up or pulling power as running a VP T4. Hope this helps..
its the airbox, replace with 450f airbox and TD files, stock airbox design is bad, the tube collopses
@@jasonowens-sg5uh The 250 airbox must be used with this set up. We have heard of some problems about current 250 airbox design and have tested the 450 airbox but from what we felt on the track this dual injector kit gives the YZ250F more low end pulling power than the 450 air box mod does.
@@Keeferinctesting strange I have a 2023 yam 250f with a twin air filter cage and the bigger airbox cover and a full gytr pipe, and this new 24 i have now blows the 23 away, don’t feel any bottom end loose at all it’s a faster bike imo
Bro the 450 airbox mod is just expensive snake-oil, there's a reason why in all the reviews they only compare a twisted 450 airbox & vortex combo against a stock bike instead of testing against a twisted vortex & standard airbox
@@tcmx712 actually, I would have to disagree with you. It actually works well. I have a slightly modified bike. stock engine mind you and it rips. AJ did a video with my bike on his youtube page.
@JaredRectenbaugh yeah I'm sure it does but how much of that is from the 450 airbox or the vortex, like I said nobodies compared a yz with a standard airbox + vortex against a 450 airbox + vortex, guarantee at most you might gain .5hp on the low end but you'll lose .5hp up top with the extra $1000 it costs for the airbox
Why is yamaha the only bike that this is available for?
@@sambourre9539 It isn’t. There is a KTM version and a Honda version coming.
