- I'm sharing the pens I inked up for the month of May (and possibly June) 2023 and providing writing samples with each of the pens. I have a huge array of fountain pens and ink colors to explore and I can already tell I'm getting pickier with my pens and will probably sell one or two of them at the end of this rotation.

Oh, I think you might like the most🤔 the 823 and Kobe, Sorakuen Tea Green. I like this Kobe ink too, I just wish it would shade more. Good Luck with the rest of your move🚚✅
I do really love that combination. I experience some shading and it's beautiful.
Forgive me if you've addressed this and feel free to just point me at a video. I've watched a ton of your recent videos but am quite new to your channel. How do you use your pens? I think I've only heard mention of long-form journaling. I love your version of the rainbow, BTW! It is right up my alley, but I wouldn't get through that many filled pens in a month.
I use the pens for journaling, letter writing, and video notes. I usually don't fill the pens to the brim and normally (not sure why I changed actually) I tend to use them for two months and then just swap out five-ish pens. So that I always carry five pens over and ink up five new.
The Kobe ink would be a good match for the 3776… :) I think I need a sample of that Robert Oster Morning Mist. Thanks for sharing, your thought process is always very interesting to listen to. :)
Yes, that might be right, the BPC Cold Steel is definitely too wet for the pen. Most of the inks I have inked are such great shaders. I'm so in love with them. Even the Kobe ink shades nicely.
Another great line up Miss Simone! I think that I want to revisit the Lamy Aluminum - I had a plastic safari a long time ago, and although I really liked the nib on that pen,, I wanted to sell it to buy more expensive pens. But I think I'm going to get the Petrol AL for my birthday this week. Happy weekend, I hope you have something fun planned.
I really want to explore the Lamy nibs again. I remember them (it - that one fountain pen I had in school) to be so easy, smooth and wet. Maybe I just put so many wrong inks into the pen.
thanks for posting seemownay
I'm glad you are enjoying the video.
This was awesome! I really enjoyed seeing your final matchups for pen/ink. Each time I watch one of your videos, I want to use your combos for myself. 😹 I always make a note of my faves and I will try them out down the line. 🤘🏼😸🧡🖋
That would be so awesome then we could exchange notes on how we feel about each pen.
Great line up! That Papier Plume ink is a really pretty color. I'm enjoying watching you curate your collection. Can't wait to see what your next acquisition will be! :)
I originally didn't want to purchase/acquire anything until after the move. I think I said after the SF Pen Show. But clearly, that didn't work.
The Platinum 3776 is still on my list to try.💙
It is a lovely pen - I hope you get to try one!
Psst: Esties are 10% off at pen boutique… $157 isn’t so bad for B Honeycomb. (Ok I’ll stop penabling lol.)
That’s supercool! I actually was able to get one from my affiliate payout through Atlas.
That even better!! Congrats! :)
You’re not just penabling. You’re pencouraging impulse shopping. I’m worse. I could have got a Visconti Venus for $102 last night, but I put it off, and this morning the price was back over $340. So I can testify we need to impulse buy. The fomo is real!
@@animula6908 I think I’ve leveled up to penpusher at this point… But the real problem is my new case of codePENdency: I felt the gut punch of that price change. That’s the worst!! 102 one day 340 the next: Madness!!
your new pen looks super beautiful and the name is cute as well! That pen-ink combination looks great! (I have a question... as usual OTL) have you ever experience some kind of "leaking" with your 3776? That's a really lovely pen and I love how it writes... but it leaks :(
Thanks so much for watching, Vir. I do not experience leaking with my 3776. It sometimes has ink on the nib or drops in the cap but those can be explained with a bit of rough handling. Hope that helps and answers the question.
How do you find the Lamy 1.1 nib. Mine feels a bit scratchy and also drier compared to the Twsbi Eco1.1. The Eco 1.1 definitely writes much broader compared to the Lamy 1.1.
The Lamy is more responsive (less?) to how I'm holding my pen, if I don't angle the nib perfectly to the page it let's me know. The TWSBI is more forgiving, and yes, a little wetter. But on 52 gsm it's very enjoyable. I also used it on Iroful paper and that was amazing!
@@seemownay Yes, you are right, actually when I focus on holding the pen at a certain angle, it works well. I need more practice. I had a look at the Sorakuen and I can see some subtle shading too. I had it in my Twsbi Go, 1.1 stub🙋♀️
@@seemownay I forgot to say, I love using the Iroful paper with the finer nibs, even with a Kaweco Sport medium, which writes more towards the fine side✍️
