Those two consecutive single blocks from Brizzard on Fornal still amaze me!
I like your list, also I appreciate you for putting some Grozer highlights in the video, he really earns a honorable mention. I really don’t know much about him in club volleyball, but he is the man who transformed an ok-level Germany into a beast this season. Not only qualifying for the Olympics by wining angrinst Italy and Brazil, but also coming first the the Olympic group. Also in the Match Germany - France just closely losing to the later Olympic champion. All in all, very impressive! ❤
Clevenot deserves it - Olympic Gold, VNL Gold, Domestic League Champ
Ohhhh and he didn’t get injured - so more playing time
good list however I think one massive player missing is nimir...the guy have been a point producing machine all year long and often pretty much carries his club almost by himself. Maybe I haven't watched enough matches but everytime I saw the netherlands play it was the nimir show.
With all due respect to Nimir, his individual performance didn’t help the national team achieve any decent results, and Halkbank didn’t perform well in the Champions League either.
@@TheBestSideofVolleyball have you seen the rest of their team? the only reasons the netherlands were even in the competition was nimir, same thing with nagoya he's litterally carrying his teams, best pointer of the vnl by far, but we see things differently and that's ok :) that's what makes discussions fun :)
can you make a list of top 5 liberos of 2024
I’m not sure if I’ll be able to put this list together properly! :)
I think I'm the same level of a volleyball geek as u. I totally agree with yr list, especially. The reasoning behind Ngapet n Clevnon. I personally did cheer for the French team ( I actually wish the Russian were there) but Clevnon 's performance n Patrice were really impressive. NGAPET kinda didn't put any effort besides the actual Olympics games so didn't really care about him.
happy new years!
Pretty good list , in my opinion Semeniuk should have taken the spot from Leon, he benched him last season and won it all with Perugia but had a bit more struggle in the national team (felt like he was used like leon while he is a different type of player, and this comment is also true for fornal , he could have been "used" in a better way for Poland ) , and in this early season Semeniuk is still prefered to Ishikawa. But i also undertstand Leon it also make sens.
And I think some honorable mention can go to pretty much all Perugia player , Plotnytskyi and , Ben Tara won't be put in the list due to weaker national team but they are INSANE (Plotnytskyi in this first half of season is just the best player in the italian league by far), Flavio was the best element for Brazil this year, consitent middle
Giannelli was amazing in club season and in olympics group stage but the olympics last 2 matches were pretty disapointing ( reason why no italian player made it there imo)
And last honorable mention but not least, Grozer this guy is 40 and his olympics performance was amazing. (There are probably a lot of player i didn't include btu you can't name them all)
You’re absolutely right; these players didn’t make it to the top because they didn’t stand out at the national team level. As for Giannelli, I think he didn’t perform that well in the final series of the Italian Super League, and he completely flopped in one of the matches. If you ask me, I would’ve given the MVP of that final to Ben Tara.
@HavixOW
"Semeniuk should have taken the spot from Leon, he benched him last season"
Leon was injured in that season. He wasn't 100%.
@@Chuyew leon was ready to play at he half of the season . But Semeniuk was prefered thanks to his stability, he was the best receiver in the League and had a really good efficency when spiking (49%) and he played almost all the first half of season so he was more used to the team, Leon had 50,5% efficency so a bit better but he was not even close in receive. But Leon still had the important role to come in when they needed a leader at the net. But overall Semeniuk was more Valuable to the team (i didn't say better, i said more valuable)
National team means different play style , and Semeniuk is less valuable in this kind of play style i guess , but when he came in for fornal after injury he was really good and same when he came in for leon as a receive substitution he was perfect
But in my opinion, Semeniuk paired with Fornal would have provided a better receive and more in systeme play. That's only an opinion tho maybe poland is better when they play with Leon
Michieletto made it
@@HavixOW Not really. Leon was still struggling with knee. After club season he got injection into the knee and was pausing few weeks. He back to the national team in middle of june for 3rd week in VNL.
This is from interview with Grbic in the middle of April.
"- We have a medical program for him agreed with the doctor. As I heard, he will receive a special injection that should help him. The idea is for him to return to the cadre in a normal state," he stressed.
If it turns out that he can't be used in the Nations League, the situation will get tough. I don't want to say hopeless, but difficult."
Not putting Michelletto in this list is a crime, rest is quite fine
My ranking is primarily based on national team matches, mainly because this year featured the Olympic Games. Alessandro didn’t perform well in the decisive matches of the season.
It's a top 10 and people are asking you why you didn't put him or him in comments. It doesn't mean others are bad, just not doing a better season.
I think you are a bit hard with ngapeth, he is getting old and is not very tall, so he can't be at 100% every time and has to choose his games if he doesnt want to get too tired i guess. But when it comes to big games, he is always present and consistent, and make his team win when it matter. I value that a lot, so i think i would have put him above patry, but i see your point.
Great top overall
Plotsnoski + Semeniuk Perugia !!
These are outstanding volleyball players, but Plotnytskyi didn’t take part in major international tournaments, and Semeniuk was a backup player. In an Olympic year, in my opinion, that played a key role.
@@TheBestSideofVolleyball they won 4 throphys last year....inculding the world cup !
What are these decisions based on
Please do play like a pro of brizard, been following the guy since he was a backup setter for toniutti
Missing Michieletto and a libero, ie: Yamamoto
Ahí está Michieletto
Alessandro skipped the final part of the Nations League and didn’t perform well in the decisive matches of the Olympics, so I didn’t include him in this list.
Michielletto won the champions league. He should be in the top 10.
Terima kasih atas informasinya
What about Nimir?
what about Keyta Lopez Michieletto Plotninsky Yamamoto .Leon Robertlandy are getting of age but still very good. But Keyta is a beast . Plotninsky so reliable.
Robertlandy Leon?)
Why Juji Nishida not on the list?
He isn't playing on big league
Nishida, Yamamoto, Miyaura & Sekita!!!
Fornal should have been first
Kissing Kamil Semeniuk And Tj Defalco
No nishida he out scored ishikawa in most games and was always the most reliable player
I wonder why Leon was included.
@dashingheart7763
Best scorer on Olympics.
Giannelli, Plotsnoski, Porro (spells not sure) I'd add them instead of some attackers.
I forgot Yamamoto, Nishida and Miyaura from team Japan.
loser?
not seeing Le Goff make this lose credibility
