What you're doing is fantastic. I spent 6 months using a mobility scooter after an accident. I tried to make the poor thing go everywhere What i needed was this. For straightforward access to country areas and for adrenaline fueled fun this is brilliant. In my experience a lot of people see you in a wheelchair or on a mobility scooter and they don't see someone who can have the fun this can bring. Love what you've done

It looks perfect for the 4WD mountain passes here in CO. But I think I'd want some fenders. The dust can get ugly, and if it starts raining or snowing at random, and up in the hills it does...
Is there any information you can share with me that I can share with my friends that are paralyzed. Of possibly buying a cheaper. I would like to help.
I initially started watching this video with the mentality of "it's just an electric 4 wheeler with a better seat, smaller tires, and different steering controls." Now I'm barely 6 minutes into the video and I've completely reversed that mentality. This thing takes all the important considerations and streamlines them down to the most simple solutions. I had no idea it had so much versatility for different-abled people and, quite frankly, applaud all the options included for various configurations. Chest belts, one sided/easier controls, a reclining action that goes so far back its more akin to sitting in a small hammock, lightweight, small enough for in-car transport, an actually great suspension, and the list goes on. I went from thinking it was a dumb copycat to actually wanting one, amazing job!

Excellent design! Very well done phase 1! Phase 2 will be to streamline and speed up manufacturing to make the Coyote affordable to more people. That design is so smart that I'm certain you're smart enough to get the cost down! As a manufacturing engineer, I can tell you that saving weight is the best way to get the price down without negatively affecting performance.
Here's an idea: if you wanted to expand your audience, alter this same design into a vehicle for weeding, planting, and harvesting backyard gardens, up to five plus acres. I've been looking for something like this. Of course, the people who needs this would be older people, limited mobility people, and overweight people. To change the design, you'd have to spread open the foot rests, so people could weed, plant, and harvest between their legs. A shelf in front to hold a tray of transplants, and a container for harvested crops and garden tools. The seat would have to be adjustable up and down, for the clearance of young plants.

I once ask a mobility scooter manufacturer of off-road scooters why they wasn't using hub motor's and they said its to do with weight ratio plus because of the electric brakes but you've covered all those angles 👍
The concept of making the Coyote modular and adaptable is genius. I don't have any disabilities other than a few arthritic fingers, but this would be incredibly useful for field work in rough and sometimes roadless terrain, it would save a lot of time. A couple of details that could be useful: Cruise control, at least at low speeds, so you don't have to grasp the throttle for long periods. Attachments like D-rings to be able to strap on diverse kinds of field gear that geologists and soil scientists sometimes need (shovel, heavy pick), and/or some threaded holes to be able to bolt on a larger cargo platform (the standard one looks a little small). Having the transportability of a mountain bike with the function of an ATV - actually better than an ATV - is ideal for technical field workers in a wide variety of sciences.
Lots of info but definitely need a video showcasing what it can do besides the same little shot between 2 trees. The beach, hills, gravel, woods, mountain bike trails,snow etc.
Just let some military special operations folks test it out and we'll see if it can hold up or not. They'll surely mount a .50 cal and M-134 to it no doubt too.

This thing is honestly pretty damn cool. Kinda sucks that it cost damn near as much as a new can am max xtp 1000 though. Depending on the option you get. I feel like a solid 8k would of been reasonable but 14k for just the base model? Damn. But i understand what this platform is for and who its for. And i think its great as long as you can afford it. 🤙
As a piece of adaptive equipment for med uses where your insurance can help or say you're a vet and a non profit will help with the price this seems fine for the price. For recreational uses though it's base price seems like it would be something very niche and there wouldn't be a lot of a market for(yet?). Hey, I legit hope I'm wrong on that and they make piles of cash(I think this is a cool concept and I love e-vehicles of all kinds and the new ones I really love seeing just for how it pushes things forward and such)though. I'd almost suggest making a dressed down version that people can say upgrade things like suspension, additional batteries, wheel/hub additions like larger motors, 2wd to 4wd(which I saw they already do), upgraded controller etc. We already have a huge culture of upgrading ebikes like say Surons for great eg. so guys are already always looking to upgrade their e-vehicle. Maybe make a 7k base model that can be upgraded in piecemeal.

@@AaronHendu - I built a 48v 1000w ebike that does 30mph - doesn't feel any different than doing 20mph.. I've had it up to 35 + going down a big hill - don't find it scary at all.. The video demonstrates the Coyote is a stable vehicle at fairly high speeds for rough terrain - so a 40-45mph road gear on smooth roads would be fine -imo - though I'm sure it wouldn't be 'street legal' above around 35mph (most ebike laws limit them to 15-20mph and states that allow golf carts on roads generally restrict them to streets with 35mph speed limit.)

Tommy! That machine is SIK! What would really complete this mega machine is a detachable ROPS (Roll Over Protection System). I would love to get two of these machines so I could spend time with some of our disabled VETS who would be capable operating this machine. That was the first thing I noticed about it. It's great that it can be used by quadriplegics, but you don't want to create any new ones if it rolls on a hillside. I'm also not crazy about separate brakes for the left and right front wheels. I think balanced brakes run off the same control would be easier for most people to manage.
I'm a surf fisherman and fish rocky coasts. I love it all my life. This sport surf fishing requires lot's of walking in tough terrain. I'm getting older and want to continue surf fishing for as long as I can go! To start Trike's were out! So shifted to looking into the electric bicycle. It could work on sandy beach's well even rocky gravel but when it came to rocks and some were like softball size's everywhere. Again you could probably do it no problem with a electric bike BUT with the bulky waders I'm wearing and equipment I'm hauling (in basket) plus the fishing rod through the holder. This all means most of my energy will be used BALANCING slowly over rocks to the point I might have to get off and walk with bike in hand over certain areas. That's a rough just thinking of an experience like that walking with e-bike loaded with gear unbalanced through some sloped tough terrain. I know you get that. That will take a lot of energy out of me. More than just walking over the rocks and having gear on me that's properly balanced like I do now. I needed something I don't expend any energy getting to the point ready and with plenty of energy to use. So I'm not looking for speed. I'm looking to get over rocks (not boulders - see Montauk) Sure there will be areas like beach's which should be no problem but it's the rocks that I wonder about. 4WD is the plus! I see your suspension could fit this type terrain, (rocky and forest type trails) but again not sure. Also water. Your mention of water sealed is excellent but again I'm dealing with salt. NO I will never bring a machine like this close to the water for dunking! Never, but I will be stopping and fishing in areas for 2 hours at at a time. That means the machine will definitely get hit with mist (also as I ride by the surf) you don't see (fine mist) Just trying to help in you understanding that salt could become an issue. I always maintain everything I own fully. I also know they have special oils that I can spray on for protection against salt corrosion. Again bringing up the point about constant maintenance (rinsing with fresh water) and keeping clean after each use. I'm serious about this little machine the "Coyote 4WD" and if it can handle a place like Montauk? This really could be a big changing point in extending the fun times in my fishing life :) Pls see my channel and what I'm all about. I can also get the message out with my live stream. TY :)

Suggested options: 5 point harness, roll bar to protect neck, fenders, as it gets muddy out there. Also, is it ok for beach, like saltwater-proof (with post-ride hose-off, of course). Very cool. I have a friend - quadriplegic - always dreamed of us walking on wooded trails together and this would do it, if it had remote control (and 5 point harness). Any chance?

I live in Florida I don’t want to keep one of these in a shed because then it would overheat can you order one of these with a cover so the humidity and rain don’t wreck it it’ll be under cover but if it rains and the humidity gets bad I’m wondering if I could get a cover for it
I live in NC and you don't know how much I wish I could get out like that again. Unfortunately the price of things such as this hold me back. Sadly I have two insurances and usually they say no.

Man, if that thing could pull a bike trailer on closed (to ICE vehicles) logging roads, I'd be in business. I built my first DIY e-bike (1500wt motor & 52v/20amp battery) three years ago and built a custom trailer, just for that scenario. The quad platform would be so much more premium, however.
Any place to install Safety Bars? This Is Bear Country, & the Closest Hospital Is Over Open Ocean & Over 100 Miles Away By Small Aluminum Boat, or Small Plane.
Good on you guys for making this! Market it to several different sectors. The Urban Crawlers(going around the hood, Doing errands, seeing friends. Showing it doesn't matter if you live in a bougie neighborhood or not, its capable enough to get you anywhere) The "Overlanders"(or backpackers really but this is there vehicle, exploring the outer lands), and the ever needed market of THE PARENT(dog needs exercise, actually get em the 5mile run they deserve. Kids need something cool to get em to and from school, you want something so you all can Bike for groceries as a family. Kids being wild, this in 5 minutes will get you to peace and quiet. Or give the family a way to do a family project.) Once you show all three of those. THEN. You hit them with the "Bulit for the young. The old. The adventurous. and different abled."

it looks great, however it costs as much as a full side by side...and literally more than my truck and the mods we built to let my disabled friend get into it. I know everyone is hyped about this (and this comment section is probably curated and this will be deleted), but let that sink in. You can buy a used Tacoma and get a paraplegic guy INTO that Tacoma, and modify it to go off-road for less money than this electric wheelchair.
You guys should put a 360 camera or go pro off of that back rack extended over the driver's head and go out and have some fun. That will be a good commercial video. If I lived anywhere near you guys I'd volunteer. Lol

Hub motors are more expensive and easy to upgrade. That is why they dont use them.

Its an off road mobility scooter and I like it.
That is neat looking, bummer here in Nevada off-roading trails are very uneven. That my arthritis might have problems with it.

How does this do going up very steep inclines, like 45 degree steep and also fenders, does it have an option
They rate grades by percentage. 5% moves a small van 50 mph. So 45 degrees and you can FLY!
This is on of its kind , can it be made to go air bone ? if posible then the army have an ultimate weapon.

I really want one now as soon as my truck is paid off I’m definitely gonna order one it looks like so much fun to drive I would take it to hog Waller muddy motorsports park and do some serious trail riding it would be fun to go out into the trails at 6:00 am to do the morning watch there I could get close to some animals with it I could play in some mud too I could also ride it around my neighborhood I live out in the country so there are some dirt roads I can ride on and see some friends too I can’t wait to order one
Man, if that thing could pull a bike trailer on closed (to ICE vehicles) logging roads, I'd be in business. I built my first DIY e-bike (1500wt motor & 52v/20amp battery) three years ago and built a custom trailer, just for that scenario. The quad platform would be so much more premium, however.

THE PARENT(dog needs exercise, actually get em the 5mile run they deserve. Kids need something cool to get em to and from school, you want something so you all can Bike for groceries as a family. Kids being wild, this in 5 minutes will get you to peace and quiet. Or give the family a way to do a family project.)
Once you show all three of those. THEN. You hit them with the "Bulit for the young. The old. The adventurous. and different abled."

How do I store one of these when not in use
Maybe create a semi circle sun shade above the seat using a flexible solar panel. Maybe able to create a sun shade producing 150W.
At the very least you should have a roll hoop behind your head... personally I would run some tubes from up front and put up a little cage.

it looks great, however it costs as much as a full side by side...and literally more than my truck and the mods we built to let my disabled friend get into it. I know everyone is hyped about this (and this comment section is probably curated and this will be deleted), but let that sink in. You can buy a used Tacoma and get a paraplegic guy INTO that Tacoma, and modify it to go off-road for less money than this electric wheelchair.
You guys should put a 360 camera or go pro off of that back rack extended over the driver's head and go out and have some fun. That will be a good commercial video. If I lived anywhere near you guys I'd volunteer. Lol
