- In this adventure, my friend Flash and I decided to build a cozy shelter with protection from wild animals. The camping was great. The charcoal-grilled meat was juicy and tasted simply divine. Having refreshed ourselves well, we fell asleep and this sleep in the fresh air cannot be compared with anything on earth🌲🍖👍

When you split wood with a hand axe you should steady the piece you are splitting using another piece of wood no chance of missing your spot and cutting off one of your fingers while using your hand to steady the log being split

Nice shelter, I appreciate the drop down poles. And the dog’s shelter was so cozy! The dog really liked its own spot!

I suggest next time you make that shelter to put top support log on other side of tree. That will make it stronger and allow you to make it wider same with bottom log for your sleeping platform. I really think you did a great camp setup. Your concern for flash shows great respect for your friend , and you fed him well. Very good idea for security. I think your fire reflector was a little to much. Good to see young people in the woods doing great things. Thank you for sharing your adventure. Be safe and take care of Flash.

Let your dog finish the water. Don't toss the water on the ground. That's not enough water for a dog, have water in a bowl and fill it up. If you don't want to carry water for your dog then provide a pack so he can carry his own water and food. Remove his pack when your building your shelter. Make shelter large enough for both of you, bring him a blanket to sleep on and cover him up.
Nice set up. The pup shelter and separate meal for him made me smile. He def looked like he was enjoying it all too.

The only thing I would be concerned about is the moss. Once it dries out, it is highly flammable. Keep it wet and growing and you will be fine.
