i guess you never grew up with this band
Sadly, I didn’t. I got into them in my late teens , and then explored their back catalogue. It was actually their “Edge of the Century” album that I first heard - especially the amazing “Show Me The Way”. But I wish I had’ve known about them as a kid! Plus I have Dennis DeYoung’s first solo album: I love Don’t Wait For Heroes and Desert Moon. TBH I don’t think that they were as popular in Australia as they were in the US. A few hits but not to the scale of the US. Maybe that’s why it took me a little time to discover them. :)
These kinds of stories are always fascinating to me. Song choices, switch ups on different versions, etc. Also, how much influence the labels had on some choices. I guess, in the end, it just gives us listeners a few more songs to enjoy. 🙂
First comment of the video! :) Yes it’s sounds like the label/s had a LOT of influence over this one! But I agree, more songs for people to discover and enjoy. :)
