- Hey everyone hope you enjoyed the reaction! Once again sorry that just like Shrek I saw this movie around 6-7 years ago and don't really remember anything. So basically a first time watch for me and Tim has not seen it! Also special thanks to Tim for being on the channel, was great to experience a movie I never would have thought I would react to with someone else.

Ok
React to scooby doo meets courage the cowardly dog movie next with your friend
Hi nickflix I have one question?
What country do you live. I live in Malaysia
Ooh Little Shop! That'll be a fun one!
If you love this you should react to my sister's keeper with the gang
Tbh I think the best bit of acting in this movie is when Hazel finds out Gus is dead. The way she knows as soon as her parents come upstairs but pretends to be asleep for a couple more seconds so it doesn't have to be real just yet. The way she crying starts off really quiet. The way she holds her mum like a comfort blankie. It's just beautiful and raw.
Gus’s breakdown at the gas station matches it I think, it’s so relatable as a person with a terminal condition
her reaction is exactly how i cried when i found out a family member died of cancer.
Soon as I saw the title I thought Oh boy...poor Nick! gonna need tissues for this one!
Same here ❤️
I think the metaphor of the cigarette is actually pretty interesting because, metaphorically, the cigarettes become a means through which Augustus gains a sense of control over his cancer. And during the scene of Gus in the car at the gas station when he throws up and can’t get the cigarettes he has completely lost control over the cancer. It’s a great metaphor actually.
Also this book/movie takes place in Indiana (where I’m from lol) you can see hints of it in Gus’s pacer’s shirt and they visited “funky bones” which is at the Indianapolis art museum :)
I’m so glad you said this. I read the book and so many others said the cigarette metaphor was cringe but I found a certain liking to it
54:49 Notice the swing set is gone? Another book reference. In it, they decide the best way to deal with the swing set of tears is to get rid of it, so they sell it to a family with two kids whose parents want them to go outside more.
The drinking age in the Netherlands was actually sixteen at the time this movie came out! It changed to eighteen a year later.
I remember when I read the book, the moment I burst into tears was when it said “Augustus Waters died 8 days later-“ I was SOBBING
Can’t believe I’m bawling my eyes out just watching a reaction to this movie 😩
LITERALLY
This movie made me laugh-
My dad took my sister and I to see it without knowing what it was. We sat down in the theater and he looked around and saw a bunch of other young women and said "oh crap, you two brought me to a chic flick... didn't you..." and then he cried 3 times during the movie and read the book 😂
My dad has watched most of the "girl movies" that I have on DVD.
Great movie. The scene where she just knows Gus is gone when her parents come to her room kills me everytime (honestly hits a bit too close to home 😢). Have you reacted to "My Sister's Keeper"?? If not, you should give that one a try too. Another one with some great insight into the daily struggles that a family has deal with when faced with medical hardships
I saw that movie years before “Fault in Our Stars” and found some similarities between Kate and Taylor and Hazel and Gus. Both are well done lovely couples that show cancer isn’t pretty in the slightest. And unfortunately neither could avoid their sicknesses. Great stories all the same.
This is the only book I've read twice (I mean besides children's pictures books as I am a teacher & mom). I'm expecting lots of tears with this reaction
Lie perfectly still during an MRI is so true. I lost 70% of my blood and have a brain injury and seizures as a result. I was born in 1995 and in 96' I got a CT that showed my brain injury. Then in late 2018 my seizures got worse and more frequent. I got a MRI done that time in early 2019. The image was more vivid and showed that my brain injury was larger than the CT showed. There was no new damage, just that there was more old injury to see. I've had Tonic Clonic seizures (Grand Mals) since birth. Then dianosed with Simple Partials (spasm-like seizures) in 2019 during the V-EEG study. Since September 1st 2021 I've seizure free of BOTH.
When the film was made (2013) the legal drinking age in the Netherlands was still 16
In 2014 (the same year the movie came out) the NL government changed the law to 18
Drinking age is lower in other countries. Augustus is old enough. Hazel is close enough that they aren’t questioning it.

@@PPfilmemacher cool. I wasn’t exactly sure what it was, but I know the drinking age in quite a few European countries is 18, so I just figured.
I wasn't able to hold my tears any time I saw this movie. Now I'm waching your reaction and I'm crying again
My mom always ask me: If it makes you so sad why do you rewatch it?
I never know what to answer. Sometimes you just want to be sad, to cry on a fake love story that ended in tragedy, to be vulnerable
I love the line "Augustus Waters was a cocky son of a bitch" it's my favorite Isaac line
Omgg the two of you are going to have soooo much fun with “Surfs Up” - as far as kids movies go, this one is criminally underrated
Awesome movie
For the record: no, they didn't actually go to the Anne Frank house. It was a set built as an exact replica.
I remember crying my eyes out watching this movie back in 2014. Glad you both did a collab to this. I also really love the book which it's based on. I hope you'll watch A Walk to Remember which is just as great ❤❤❤
The quote “perhaps okay will be our always” is one of my favorite quotes from the book. Even though it’s a reference to what Isaac had with his girlfriend, Gus is implying that they might live to be okay as long as they always have each other.
If the inevitability of human oblivion worries you, I encourage you to ignore it. God knows that’s what everyone else does.
I remember bawling my eyes out at the end and needing cuddles and videos of puppies and kittens afterwards lol. This movie is just so, so sad and you can’t help getting emotionally invested.
I wanna see Tim, Nick and Cody react to a movie together-
boom clap
In me mums car
Man. Nick, I love your reactions to these types of movies the most because you seem like you have no fear of being vulnerable. Keep it up buddy.
Also, man this movie hurt my feelings.
There's some stuff from the book that I wish was in the movie. Like Hazel's friend Kaitlyn, Hazel looking up Augustus' ex girlfriend with a tumor that made her act like an asshole before she died. And definitely the part where Hazel visits Isaac in the hospital. And, there's a part at Gus' funeral where it's an open casket and Hazel puts a pack of cigarettes between his arm and torso and says. "You can light these, i won't mind."
Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort also stared in Divergent (2014) same year as this movie but as brother and sister.
My mom and friends went to see this movie for my birthday one year. Everyone was crying except for me.
Thanks, Nick! Thanks, Timothée! 🌟
Congrats you surviver the film
This movie makes all my loved ones sob.
i read the book as a kid, and i remember distinctly, that when I read he died i actually threw the book across the room and cried for 10 mins. such a beautiful, sad but beautiful story.
I still remember reading this book tons of times! It's been years but man, this is bringing me back
a suprise to be sure. But a welcome one.
Honestly, this movie is so relatable. I’m an epileptic (and no one’s told me I’m dying) but i get it. Seizures at random, appointments, scans. I mean,I had a seizure like two weeks ago and I hate not being able to do the things I love. I even have to take a semester off school to heal. Sometimes,I do wonder if I will die. It’s like everyone is worried about me too. I’m sorry about the rant,I just really relate to this
I fell in love with this movie as a teenager. Such a beautiful movie! Also, I remember a fan story about this that someone added where Augustus donated his lungs in his dying moments to Hazel so she could breathe. Made me cry like a bitch. This film still does that. I’m glad y’all got the chance to enjoy thisb
“I’ve never seen any of The Star Wars” same Nick, same

the lovely bones is SO depressing and haunting omg.
Honestly their kiss at the Anne Frank house was MOST appropriate. Anne would have been madly happy to know that in this place of former misery there is love discovered.
Here I was, catching mere glimpses of Lidewij's face and thinking "Wait, I know her". Full focus on her and I suddenly recognize Geillis Duncan from "Outlander".
not me crying just from little snippets of the eulogy scene T~T if somebody doesn't cry with this movie, I simply don't trust them cause how can you NOT
This was a nice reaction. This movie is definitely a emotional rollercoaster as someone who's battling asthma and having my breathing be all messed up I haven't been the same since April 2021 Let this movie be a lesson enjoy life while you still can do things you always dreamed of doing. Medical emergencies happen and definitely put a mental toll on you sometimes like it has with me and many other people. Stay strong everyone. On a more positive note can't wait to watch the next reaction you guys do soon
I really didn't think I'd like the movie when I first watched it. But that scene where they're talking to each other about the book and Isaac is just breaking things in the background is so funny to me. It shouldn't be but it is legitimately my favorite scene
One of my favorite ❤️😢
And my first book I’ve ever read.
Omg Nick! I cried so hard in this reaction it was as much as you did in the, “Saving Mr. Banks.” Reaction Just wow, did not expect this movie to hit me so hard!! 😭😭😭😭
This is a random request, but can you watch West Side Story (2021)? It’s just been released on Disney+ and it’s so good, my favourite movie in fact. Ansel Elgort, from this movie, is in it too.
Oml, yes please react to this Nick 🙌🏻
They're old enough for champagne in Amsterdam.
OMG TWO OF MY FAVORITES REACTORS REACTING TO A MOVIE I USED TO LOVE SOOO MUCH AS A TEEN. It's been a long time since I watched this movie so... tears... Here I come 💔
Anyways, thank you so much for this amazing collab!! 🌟
YES!!! I was hoping you’d see this at some point!
I honestly enjoy reaction vids even more when it involves one reactor being paired with another fellow reactor of his own channel. Makes it feel more engaging.
And for it to be on this particular drama film? So worth it!
yees 2 of my favorite reactors doing a collab together😁👍 and nickflix maybe do a collab with timotheereacts to the goonies towerheist the lone ranger from 2013 the live action disney movie aladdin from 2019 and rat race and nick have a nice day✌😎☀️🤙
Yes please do Aladdin live action
my mom and little brother are still mad about this because I didn't tell them that it was a sad movie
petition for you to watch "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl" 🙏💖 it has similar themes as this movie but is somehow very comedic which makes it so unique. loved this duo reaction!
Yes!!!
I feel like another really good movie you would enjoy is Wonder (2017). Would love to see your reaction to it if you're looking for suggestions. 🙂
Great recommendation!
i love all your reactions. you make me happy.
John Green: Basically, the only good thing about Indiana.
Trust me, I've lived here my whole 24 years.
You have to watch Five Feet Apart, such a good movie but it is a tear jerker!
I re-read the title eleven times. On the twelfth time, I finally realised that it didn’t actually say ‘W/Timothee Chalamet Reacts’
This movie had hit me so hard when I found out I had cancer. But I beat it and I don’t cry at this movie no more 😅
Also y’all should watch if I stay
Never heard about this movie before
One of my all time favourites ❤️ it just pulls at my heart strings every single time. I read the book first and absolutely loved it, a really incredible book, even cried my eyes out at that! But I feel like the movie did the book justice, which doesn't always happen, which is why I love it as much as I do!
The soundtrack of this movie is one of my favorite soundtracks! 😍
Since you really seemed to like Shailene Woodley in this movie, I would love to recommend that you guys watch Adrift! It was actually really good (I didn't realize before I watched it that it was based on a true story) and her performance was great (be warned though, you will probably cry)
Great react fellas… keep teaming up occasionally and keep’em coming!
I was 12 when this came out and i remember going to the movies w my friend who read the book and i had no idea what this movie was about. I came out the theater sobbing bc i was so not prepared. Cant wait to see yalls reactions haha i know itll be a waterworks reaction for sure
“The lady from Star Wars” is so insulting. Haha. This video was so good. Subscribing.
Phenomenal reaction, your eyes are so expressive
Love it
Omg yayyyyyyyyyyy
Yeyy the best combo and timing !
Thank u for your videos 🥰
Omg yes. Love how my favorite movie reactor is doing another review collab. Hopefully we'll see more in the future 😊👏
Now you just have to see Five feet apart and The midnight sun to have the complete trio of best romantic movies that make you cry
Not me doing dishes to distract myself from the pain that is watching movie
Oh my Tim is in for it this time ! This movie gets me in my feels every time.. okay ✨
Shailene actually started on an ABC Family (Freeform) show The Secret Life Of The American Teenager. You want to see her acting on the level she did in this movie, watch that! I actually think she outdid her role as Amy Juergens with Hazel Grace personally & the show is by the creators of 7th Heaven if you're a fan of that show & decide to check it out; with or without reacting on your channel
I read the book, and I think the ending is pretty emitional.Glad u watched the movie!
😊
I love seeing these commentaries with multiple people because you can see how they react to each other.
My favorite so far is the when they’re having that special moment and Hazel says I love you first and Tim’s response is “hey Nick do you wanna whisper?” And when they hyped each other up after Hazel left and Augustus woke up to a doodle alone and Tim says “it’s a circle”, then it actually ended up being a circle of her telling him to “meet here”.
Or when they were throwing eggs and Hazel says “Augustus we should wait till dark” and his response is “it’s always dark for him” cause he’s blind, and the way those two laughed.
Or when Augustus says “18 years actually” and Nat Wolf (I forgot his characters name) says “I said 19 to give you a little more time you bitch. Shut up don’t correct me- this is my eulogy- you’re suppose to be dead” is a little happiness in a grim scene.
The scene where Augustus is actually sick and tries getting cigarettes alone to prove he can do things by himself and doesn’t need pity and he’s not a failed mutation just like how Hazel was able to breathe and bring her oxygen tank with her up the stairs at the Anne Frank house. He was trying to be strong like her and he couldn’t cause 911 does end up helping and he’s slamming the car wheel and breaks down screaming “I hate myself! I hate myself!”. Kills me everytime- that scene was done so well by both of them 😭😭😭
Watch the perks of being a wallflower!!!
A walk to remember. Or any other Nicolas Sparks movies
Death is the cruelest part of life. Unfortunately, that cruelty comes for us all, sooner or later. We must live our life to the fullest before that inevitability, however, not all of us REALLY live. A life lived well is a great gift. But to find true love in this life? Well, that’s the rarest gift of all. A gift I’m privileged enough to have, and am thankful for every day of my life. So, if you are one of the lucky ones, and find true love, hold it in your heart forever, and never say goodbye to it; because true love never dies.
To my wife Val, just want to write: I love you to the stars and back. ♥️
Love, your Rebecca
16:50 those... are tulips (because they're going to the netherlands! tulips are kind of their thing over there)
I choose to belive that Anne Frank would have approved of that kiss
I still haven’t seen this movie. This will be my first time😅
Gus and Hazel have been through a lot in this movie. I think this was also based on a true story, though I just don't remember the name of the cancer-stricken girl that inspired the character of Hazel. The Fault in Our Stars brings a whole lot of memories for me. It sure is a tear-jerker. I do hope that Nick and Timothee are doing okay now. The two of them seriously need to collaborate more.
Her dying at the end
beautiful
Part of the reason Hazel kissed Augustus in the Anne Frank house is because Anne kissed Peter in the Anne Frank house.
Also, unless the assistant bought them tickets to the Anne Frank house three months in advance, they probably wouldn't be able to go in. The wait list for the Anne Frank house is very long.
look at nick doing all kinds of collabs. great movie
I suggest "If i stay" is such an underrated movie personally I want some reactors to watch it :,)
I have seen this movie before at my grandparents' house and it was a pretty good movie, I remember it being emotional. Also I've been to Amsterdam in 2015 with my parents and we went to the Anne Frank house, it was an amazing experience!
Yes , this movie make my cry so hard even the second time watching it😭if you really enjoyed this one , i would recommend u to check out five feet apart 👀😁luv ur reaction btw^^
Never change nick just never
I agree kissing in the Anne Frank is insane
The slow clap afterwards is ridiculous
One of the best movie
I got to see this premiered when I was 14 with troye sivan. One of the most beautiful love stories. Even better book :)
I wish they had left in Hazel's friend Kaitlyn and Gus' dead girlfriend. There's also the part where Hazel visits Isaac in the hospital. And, before he dies, Gus' half sisters and their kids visit him while he's in a bed from hospice in the living room.
I haven’t seen this movie before.
I watched this movie and didnt cry but I cried in 5 feet apart
I loved Shailene in Endings, Beginnings
Them being at the Anne Frank house I remembered a really good movie I would love for you to check out! It's called Anne Frank The whole Story with Hannah Taylor Gordon and Ben Kingsley. I watched a lot of movies about Anne Frank's story and this is by far my favourite! I really really recommend it!
You should watch My Sisters Keeper if you liked this movie! It has a slightly different vibe (The main point is not romance, but more familial relationships) but its very good and very underrated.
Willem Dafoe is awesome in this movie exactly how I imagined the character when I read the book
