Listening for comparison on the Sennheiser 660s2 the Rode shotgun mic easily blows away the wireless systems. The Hollyland is more detailed than the DJI Mic. The DJI also has a higher noise floor which you have to clean up even more in post.
Wireless portability is definitely the biggest advantage of shotgun microphones. I haven't heard any background noise issues with the DJI MIC2; in fact, I find DJI's sound quality to be crisp and delightful. The difference in sound quality becomes even more apparent during post-processing.
FYI - I am starting to see a number of serious issues being reported on the new DJI Mic 2 system. The Hollyland does have a richer sound and for mobile work with iPhones it is an excellent option in my opinion. For me, the upgraded M2 is less of an attractive option for my work. Thanks for this comparison.
The sound from DJI is noticeably richer, especially with the added 32bit feature. And the direct Bluetooth connection makes it super convenient for mobile work with iPhones!
I can tell the difference between the Hollyland and the DJI. I find DJI's sound to be fuller and brighter, while Hollyland's can be a bit sharp. Overall, my preference for audio quality is DJI > Hollyland > Rode.
Brother always love your videos brother assaali from Kenya Mombasa Africa

I agree!
But for run and gun stuff the wireless systems are definitely nice!

Am I the only one who thinks DJI has better sound quality?

Interesting. I couldn't tell any difference between the Lark and the DJI. And I prefered their audio to your Rode.
