From baaaaaybeeee and straight to celloboxing and I am so glad you caught that Scott came in with that falsetto, seems not everyone got that on the first listen. Great reaction! Matt’s soul filled voice held this all together.
So far today I've seen you meet PTX for the first time, get Mitch Slapped for the first time, & now I get to see the best KO Ive ever seen!! Kevin is from another PLANET!!!!!! He has perfect pitch. He also plays saxophone ( twice at Carnegie Hall), plays piano, speaks Mandarin & was Pre Med at Yale when he joined PTX. All of them are stratosphere level talented & the only thing they are better at than music, is being human beings. Going on 14 yrs & they are a true family. I implore you to watch their original video of John Lennon's Imagine (with Avi), both for music & message. Then can see their newer version with Matt that they did LIVE. Thanx for all the joy today😊
Enjoyed your reaction! I've listened to this over and over and over and still see and hear things that make me smile - this is one of their best covers ever, if not THE best. I think everyone that hears this stands up, falls over backwards, screams - when Kevin has that "Babee" moment.
Spot on with their names. And yes Kevin do cello boxing as he calls it. He is amazingly talented. They were on their A-game yes. Although Kirstie doesn't really have a solo part here one can still hear her lovely voice. One thing of this group, they work together as a unity and don't try to outshine each other. TX for this. Thoroughly enjoyed your reaction. Greetings from South Africa
You have the names down. The hardest one is Kirstin or Kirstie (rhymes with thirsty). Kevin invented celloboxing, which got him attention when Pentatonix was being formed. He performs “Kevin’s Fifth” during Pentatonix tour intermissions. Matt is on the drums. Link: ua-cam.com/video/DbCasvcNx78/v-deo.htmlsi=b4jCGM8MlMRDj2sL
Thank you for the great reaction to this awesome Pentatonix live performance video. I am enjoying your Pentatonix reactions and I appreciate your effort to learn their names. I like your energy. Subscribed.
Yes, Kevin is still handling percussion while playing the cello. I see that I've been remiss on filling you in about the members. Somewhere there may be a better beatboxer than Kevin Olusola (pronounced Oh-loosh"-oh-luh', primary emphasis on the second syllable, secondary emphasis on the fourth syllable), but if so I've never encountered him or her. Kevin is generally too busy being the entire percussion section to sing, but when he does sing he has a lovely tenor voice that occasionally dips into the uppermost reaches of baritone, and he's known for the beauty of his falsetto. He's also a pretty good rapper. Kevin has perfect pitch. He began piano lessons at age 4, cello at age 6, and alto saxophone at age 10. He beatboxes while playing the cello, a technique he calls "celloboxing." (In fact, it was a viral UA-cam video of Kevin celloboxing that first brought him to the trio's attention back in 2011 when they were desperately searching for a beatboxer to fill out the band.) Kevin performed at Carnegie Hall twice when he was a teenager, once on piano and once on saxophone. He graduated from Yale in 2011 with a pre-med major and had already been accepted to Yale Medical School before he decided to become a professional beatboxer instead of a brilliant surgeon. He speaks five languages fluently: English, French, Spanish, German, and Mandarin Chinese. He's one of the kindest people in the world, and when he laughs he makes the whole planet seem like a brighter place. You can find Kevin's personal channel here: youtube.com/@kolusola I recommend Kevin's KOver of Marian Hill's version of "Down": ua-cam.com/video/IGjg193h4Ok/v-deo.html Also, you'll like "The Kevin Show/Kevin's Fifth." This is a live stream from a Pentatonix concert in Owensboro, Kentucky, Kevin's home town: ua-cam.com/video/DbCasvcNx78/v-deo.html
Your reaction is how I feel every time I watch this video! Truly one of their best! And that's saying something considering just how many great ones they have.
Love, love, love your reaction! I was waiting for certain spots in the video that I knew would grab you, lol They never disappoint. Yes, Kevin is cello boxing... very talented.
Great reaction. And yes, Kevin's "bag" is quite full. Cello boxing is how the group found Kevin, part of their history. One tiny thing, you said Kirsty (perfect) then you said "or Kristen" (oops, almost!).
You identified everyone correctly, with one caveat. Kirstin's name is NOT Kristin, and it really bugs her when people call her that. You got her nickname, Kirstie, right, and Kirstie rhymes with thirsty. If her name was Kristin her nickname would be Kristy, which doesn't rhyme with much of anything, but frisky comes close. Further note on Kirstin's name: In 2011, when Pentatonix got their start, Kirstin was 19 years old and had completed one year of college. At that time she used "Kirstie" as her stage name, and this seems to have continued until at least 2014, when she is billed as "Kirstie Maldonado" in SuperFruit's "FROZEN MEDLEY (feat. Kirstie Maldonado)" (which is well worth watching, BTW - stick around after the obvious end for the blooper reel). However, it is now 2024. Kirstin is 31 years old and has been a mother for the last year and a half. Her stage name is now "Kirstin," and that is how the other members of Pentatonix refer to her in interviews. I believe that at this point she prefers to reserve the use of her nickname for close friends and family only and to use her given name with fans.
You should check out Kevin Olusola on his own as well. He does a cover of Harry Stiles Sign of the Times and plenty others he also covers a song called Down which is really really good ❤
Your channel would grow. That is because nobody cares what your comments are over the song. Your comments are more welcomed if u first give respect to the song as premier.
Can u pls just let the singers sing first please!!! Then u can comment 2nd …., if wisdom would prevail! Nobody cares to hear any commentary first ! Let the song play out then say what you have to say.
Kevin is a tenor and while he does not sing a lot, when he does he always blows us away
Bravo, you are one of the few reactors who got their names correct ! Great reaction again! And yes, Kevin is Celllo boxing.
From baaaaaybeeee and straight to celloboxing and I am so glad you caught that Scott came in with that falsetto, seems not everyone got that on the first listen. Great reaction! Matt’s soul filled voice held this all together.

Prime example of HOW to react to Pentatonix! Loved it. 😁
Recommend their 90s Dance Medley.
Kevin is insanely talented!!! The bass line you heard in the beginning was Matt
I’m impressed. You got all the names right. Kevin beatboxes and plays the cello at the same time - celloboxing.
Oh honey. They have soooo much in their bag that you haven’t imagined yet!
Well I'm going to find out

Loved your reaction, subbed for Pentatonix! Pick any song, you won't be disappointed. Welcome to the rabbit hole!
Kevin's bag is like Mary Poppins'... there is literally EVERYTHING in it.

You got them right. Kevin is probably the most talented dude there. Loved that!!
How is it possible NOT to LOVE that?? Love your PTX reactions- keep on keeping on 😁. They are all 👽s, but KO is the King ET.
You're the best!
This was an awesome reaction! Aren’t they just perfect?!
It's really neat how they all seem to be fans of each other. When they stop singing before Kevin's moment, Kirstie is watching him with a big smile.
They were all on top of their game in this one 🔥
When I saw them live in November, this was the best song in the whole concert. Just killer!
Your reaction is how I feel every time I watch this video! Truly one of their best! And that's saying something considering just how many great ones they have.

Very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You got all the names right!!!! Yeah, it's "Kirstie"...like "thirsty"...not "Christy". Loved your reaction!
Kevin's naturally a tenor when singing, so that's why the higher notes aren't hard for him.
