Yep I reckon 😆 does look like bekken! There’s some cool fossils around this area also. It’s on the list. I need some more books on the geology of this area. There’s so much weird stuff.
I knew I liked that HuntingRocks fellow for a reason, bacon indeed! LOL. Super cool material Dustin Finds Rocks, Stromatolites have a lot of variation of both shape and color, and it looks like your spot had a lot that to show. You found amazing stuff, thank you for sharing it with us.
The rope chert is found in the bottom of the gasconade. I have a huge boulder that has that base and ophilita gastropods above it. I'll send that video to you. I found it in dent county Missouri.
You should use the powder in weak dilution to clean. If you want to polish the druzy quartz you should use no more than a cup per gallon and change the mixture every 4 days roughly. I'd do it for at least two cycles, maybe 4. It really brings out the luster when you get all the mineral stains out and the chemical reactions will realign surface molecules on the druzy giving it a much better "polished" appearance. But it takes a few weeks to achieve this.
I think you’re good surface collecting in creeks they just don’t want you scooping up gravel for roads and such. 🤷🏻♂️ hopefully it’s not an issue. I can’t imagine what possible harm this is doing
OMG that red one was phenomenal!!
Yeah I was pretty stoked to find that one. I’m not sure what made it so red
Very good nature ❤❤❤❤❤sharing
Thank you
How amazing! I found a great spot off Gravois RD today… Had some awesome geodes and druzy!Fabulous finds my friend!!
Awesome!
Interesting finds. Cheers from East Coast, Canada.
Thank you 😊
Ya found yerself some "Stromagerts"! You gotta celebrate the chert in there too. 😂 Nice cut on that bacon piece. Wow!

Gotta love finding rocks and cutting them open 😁🍻
Yeah there’s enough interesting stuff here I’ll probably be back. Who knows maybe I’ll even find something similar to Bear Canyon 😂 I can dream
Agatolite. It's just got a good sound to it. Neat stuff.
Jared would be so proud of us making up names 😂

Thank you 😊 I’m glad I have such a good buddy with a saw! I’ve been wanting to look inside these for a while now
Scott was a wonderful host when we visited and I hope to meet Jeff in a future trip to Missouri!
Yeah I like Scott he’s a cool dude. He’s been all over the Potosi area and knows tons of people and spots
Omg you for and my maybe pile! There were like 10 piles I made when my bag was too full to collect more
Lol no way!!! Rock on 👍🏻
Those are fricken amazing nothing is better than stromagate
Yeah some of these were cooler than I expected
@@dustinfindsrocks hey did you get my email
@@keithcunningham7925 Yes! Just replied.
The black rocks with broken chert is called breccia.
Have you guys ran into any of the gasconade formation? There's some exposures in that region.
Some of this might actually be Gasconade I’m not sure. I’m going to try looking around Salem for fossils sometime
@@dustinfindsrocks you should check out the stromatolite bedding at huzzah ponds if you do. The pond bank has small gastropods as well.
@@quiettime1195 Thanks for the tip!
You need to make a list of county’s and place that are public for all of us lol.
It’s not easy lol

Yeah I’m gonna go search for those sometime
@@dustinfindsrocks I think it forms above the sandstone of Gunter or whatever that separated the Cambrian/Ordovician boundary.
The Roubidoux would be exposed on the highest areas.the deeper areas are gasconade to eminence formations most likely.
Hey Dustin, when you clean these with iron out, do you use the liquid or the powder? If you use liquid, do you dilute it?
I use the powder haven’t tried the liquid

@@quiettime1195 awesome! Thank you for the advice
@@quiettime1195 I'm a big fan of the iron out on druse! I agree about 4 days max.
@@ero1347 don't forget to neutralize the acid bath after and neutralize the specimen.
Amazing video!! Thanks for sharing!!
Ps you found my observation pile 😂
What lol no way!
@@dustinfindsrocks I hung out down there back in may or something. There was probably a few small stacks around the campsites on the creek.
Don't let conservation catch you at pea ridge removing rock.
You can go on the mark Twain forest side. There's a few trail heads and other roads. Berryman.

@@dustinfindsrocks that side is conservation land. I think they'll give you a pretty good ticket.
