I Bought one three years ago and use it behind my 500 Polaris. I can put almost a full cord of wood on it and bring it out of the bush over rough terrain and rock ridges. Just love it. I installed an electric winch on it and it sure brings the logs right on the trailer one man operation.

I bought this a few months back and have to say that I is an awsome addition. Yes it is basically the same as the DR but it is cheaper with the same build quality and we can get this here in Canada. I am using it with my new Polaris WV850 and it tows like it is not even there. I do however plan to install an electric winch, when the bed if full of dirt, it gets a little hard to winch.

+Glen P I believe DR probably cloned the T-Rex (they've done that for several of their products, and market them like they just invented some brand new concept). BTW: the new T-Rex trailers have been redesigned to dump to 60˚ (The DR trailers still only dump to 35˚).

Gotta give you top grades for the vid! Carefully thought out. Educative and not jiggling like a crazed animal. Kudos.

Two suggestions for improvement, one minor, one a bit more involved:
    1) add an optional in hitch (or better yet a 2" receiver hitch) to the rear of the trailer. It would be GREAT to be able to pull a log splitter behind the trailer
    2) Make a way to quickly convert from the Woodland Trailer to the T-Rex (or combine the functions of the two) so that we could dump a full 2000# load, but still attache a boom quickly and easily when needed. This would need to be a simpler conversion than completely removing the whole T-Rex boom assembly and replacing ti with the Woodland Trailer post assembly. A tool-less change over would be ideal.

      +John McNerney Hi John,
Thank you for your comments and ideas. We have considered the extra hitch at the rear of the trailer, but the box would interfere with it when it’s tilted. Therefore, you would need to remove it each time you wanted to tilt the dump box, which we didn’t think would be ideal for users.
And, the Woodland trailer and T-Rex trailer are essentially the same with exception of the boom, so you can remove either of the booms and swap them. We also sell the booms individually for customers looking to have both--two adjustable wrenches would be sufficient to swap them out since we use nuts and bolts. Based on the tests we conducted, we found that the nuts and bolts clamp the boom assembly in place more securely than something like quick pins.
Please let us know if you have any other questions, or suggestions.

+woodlandmills thanks for considering the suggestions. If the hitch were a receiver insert as is commonly used on trucks and SUVs, you could just pull the pin and remove it if it was in the way for dumping. It would take just a few seconds.

      +John McNerney Hi John,
Yes, if users didn’t mind removing the rear hitch from the trailer before dumping than it would not be an issue and something that we could look at implementing in the future. We can poll existing customers to see whether this type of feature is something that they would find to be advantageous and worth the extra cost. Thanks again for the feedback and ideas.

They also make the the Woodland ATV Trailer, which loses the boom, but gains the ability to dump it's full 2000# capacity.

Nice trailer, BUT I'm not for the size of ball used. The 1" 7/8 needs to go BYE BYE and use a 2" ball instead. The smaller ball is slowly being phased out the use of 2" ball hitches are more common for that size trailer.

+Andrew Brenneman This video is several years old. If you check their web site, they are now using a 2" ball hitch. (I was happy to see this, since everything else I own uses a 2" ball).
