But Basquet without a EuroLeague title since 2010 , Futbol without a UCL title since 2015.
Voleibol they never won the CEV CL.
Nobody cares about Roller Hoquei.
And even Futsal they only won 2 out of the 5 last UFCLs.
I personally would like them close all sections except Futbol & Futsal.
With the stadium rebuild they combine for something like 3 Billion € net debt.
For that kind of money the trophy cabinet looks pretty empty , and Handball is only sport no. 6 in Europe after Football , Basketball , Volleyball , Rugby , Ice Hockey .

Nobody cares about Handball outside of Germany , France & Denmark.
It's a money thing for EHF , biggest German indoor arena , always sold out , 4th biggest city , airport , rail station , etc.
But in principal as a German i agree , i am so sick of Cologne hosting every year too.
On the refs however i disagree.
This year's quarterfinals ok , but overall Spanish teams clearly dominante the EHF CL , go look at the winners' list. 😉

However the reason i didn't , because Barcelona is dominating the league so much , that it is getting boring in Spain. Plus the national team has often times comes just short of Gold or Silver , many times they got unlucky.
And as you mentioned , many of those teams don't exist anymore.
