It’s always interesting to see videos of Allen’s plane, he was a neighbor and close friend. I never flew in it but I did taxi it with him when I was in high school. He was having problems with a misfire at the time, it turned up to be a hole corroded in the exhaust pipe inside the heat muff for the carburetor.
Dewey gets to have all the fun but we get to watch. Thanks, Dewey. BTW, there's a community that uses your last name. It's nearby, just above Santa Cruz, CA. I think they send you a check every month for the use of your name.
Dewey, Where are you at Brother? I have been missing your videos terribly!! I assume you have just been very busy this summer. Anyway, I hope all is well with you, and things at the Dewey Drome are in great shape! I hope to see one of your great grass roots videos soon!!!!
Thanks @scotabot. I have had a lot of things going on this year so I am trying to slow down a bit. I have shot some video's but haven't done any editing. We have been dealing with some health issues with my family so that has really kept me from being motivated
8:51 What is purpose of the 2.5 inch circular hole in the fabric near magneto end of engine? Visual inspection of belt? adjust magneto? Has any oil filter or screen been added to engine? Any idea the range of prices for a Model-A "project engine"? Are parts available? 13:20 The water pipe to "front" of engine is a simple solution to release any air bubbles trapped in the water jacket. Is there any expansion tank on cooling system? Does radiator have a vented cap, or what PSI rating on a pressure cap?
Hey Dewey, I recently checked your Instagram trying to find out what's up with you. Hope you are feeling better. Looking forward to a Travel Air 6000 update when you are feeling up to it. Hope all is well with you.
@@DeweyDavenport Hope you're doing better. I caught a glimpse of you in Peter Sripol's flying leaf blower vid. Health issues can totally take over your life (I blew two discs and a hamstring tendon two years ago and it really set me back about 9 months). Good luck.

I’m just guessing, but it could be a fuel strainer sediment bowl at the lowest point.
Ive helped stitch a few ribs on one of these.

Sorry that I haven't been posting any video's. Dealing with family health issues and my health has slowed me down

Dewey, What type of oil do they run in the Model A motor?
Andrew uses Rotella 15 - W40. They have had good luck with it for many years.
Built like a model airplane 😊
These were a kit!
