Barbados 🇧🇧 is a nation that harbors a lot of intellectual people.
Try Nigeria… if you have not left your neighborhood, one will think it is the best. Intellectuals are everywhere.
["Yes it does have lots of them, been there saw that."]
@@p.be.sseparation only strengthens your enemies. You should think more before commenting.
@@BJosephto How about you educate yourself before commenting. My comment is about intellectuals being everywhere not only Barbados. It is not my fault you are delusional. Niger has separated from the France, how does that strengthen their enemies. SMH.
Using Niger and France as an example only works if they were allies. Considering they aren't it's probably best to use another example.
Thank you for straight talk Barbadian PM Mia Amor Motley!
Our strong intelligent queen. ❤ ✊🏿❤️🖤💚✊🏿❗️
Mia is an inspiration to young folks both gender, and she is a true leader. She sees and brings all the necessary ingredients to the forefront which makes lots of leaders looks like liers. I have always believed that it is not that hard to accomplish... one hand washes the other. Mia keep going on till you get to your end. I love and pray for you always ❤ 💦🙏🏿💐
I shared with all my Island friends. Africa is watching.👍🏾🙏🏽
I love this woman, she is so intelligent. The ways she speaks always amaze me.
Powerful words. Well done for calling out the West's greedy ness
Being on top of the subject is the key 🔑. Most politicians in Africa seem to think that being the president is all that matters and not the dynamics of governance.
Love it. Rise of Africa!
Such a beautiful soul Mrs MIA
So true
Prime Minister Motley is the truth.❤️🖤💚💛✊🏽
Well said. This sister understands the matrix.
Mottley is still plugged in. She's running to organizations that don't want to see black nations advance and she's begging for monopoly money to snare Barbados in a long-term debt trap.
Well, in this excerpt she's pretty clear why Chinese and Russian loans are more attractive to countries than IMF & World Bank loans without using words like "Greed", "Capitalism", "Evil", "Rentier Class" and "Rules Based Order", and without pointing fingers at the individuals, countries, organizations, industries and investment funds that use short term, high interest loans to control the world. I like her. Just cut to the chase. My understanding grew in this short, succint clip. Thank you.
Greece also blamed banks for lending them money. Stop this nonsense. You all look ridiculous. PLUS you seem to forget all the money streaming in through "humanitarian aid". And then you blame the people actually giving you this. Russia bombs grain silos, obstruct ships so Africa starves - but Putin is a "hero" ? Ungrateful AND spoiled is what you all are. You will NEVER stand on your own feet because you never learned how ! Now go to bed, child.
She raises a good point. I think a "quality of life index," or an "infrastructure index" would be more relevant. GDP tells a business looking to invest very little about the quality of a country's marketplace or their export capacity.
She is such a gem.
So straight forward.
So brave in calling a spade a spade.
She is the truth and we love her🖤❤️💛💚🖤
Woman with substance 👏👏👏
Good point
❤❤this is very true thank you so much
We are with you 200 per cent.we will work on money supply for development of island states and achieve sustainable development goals.access to credit ,and information flow must be categorically made universal right
Excellent! Thank you for sharing.
She is calling for the credit rating agencies to explain themselves. Fantastic!
The solution to all this is #ADEJA
Inspirational Mia Motley!
She is truly inspiring 😌🙏🏾
Many thanks for sharing Barbados, could be wrong but Nigeria and the World Health Organization are with you all the way......😊🎓😉........X...............
Brains and clarity....Don't let her go, Ever

Love you my LADY💯❤💯
Thank you for handling them like the thieving children that they are.
Neighbors of China prosper with China’s rise for past 40 years. US and EU prosper for centuries and yet their neighbors remain very under or undeveloped and abjectly poor till today. From this perspective, democracy is a trap to perpetuate poverty and exploitation of the poor for the benefits and continued dominance of the very rich developed West. Need we say more that China is increasingly loved by the poor South but feared or hated by the rich North for disrupting so called international orders.
It is said if it works don’t fix it but where it has failed so miserably for so long with no ray of hope, it is time to realize that change must be made where changes are undeniably and urgently required.
Oh that's hysterical and beyond ignorant and hypocritical
China prospered because of western consumerism
It's biggest trade partners are Europe and the usa
China holds so much us debt issued bonds because that's what keeps their export prices low and import prices low
China has frequently pegged the yuan to the dollar
Numerous western companies outsourced their manufacturing to china
Their neighbours like japan and south Korea prospered because of their innovation
Europe's neighbours are poor
Wow the stupidity of a certain people never fails to astound me
Europe's neighbours are in asia
Anyone who says democracy is a trap is an absolute idiot
The best thing people like you can do is to stop making comments on these subjects until you learn to research what you are commenting on
Since that's unlikely to ever happen it's best you keep your ignorant bias vitriolic opinions to yourselves
China wouldn't be where it is today if not for the west
The trade partnerships with the so called global south are insignificant compared to china and the wests trade agreements
Yeah, territorial disputes with 17 neighbouring countries, all Chinese neighbors love them.
@@Hnnbcvbnn ALL 17 border disputes had already been resolved with the exception of India.
@@sktan3743 haha, yeah sure that's why many among the 17 countries were protesting against china's new map.
@@sktan3743 China and Vietnam have an ongoing territorial dispute over the Paracel Islands. The islands are internationally recognized as belonging to Vietnam however they are currently administered by China
China and Japan have a territorial dispute over a group of uninhabited islands known as the Senkaku Islands in Japan
South China Sea Arbitration,
was an arbitration case brought by the Republic of the Philippines against the People's Republic of China (PRC) under Annex VII of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea
There was no legal basis for China to claim historic rights to resources within the sea areas falling within "nine-dash line" UNCLOS does not provide for a group of islands such as the Spratly Islands to generate maritime zones collectively as a unit China had breached its obligations under the convention on the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea and Article 94 of UNCLOS concerning maritime safety China violated its obligations to refrain from aggravating or extending the parties disputes during the pendency of the settlement process
God bless you ms Motley
The developed economies failed to understand that developing economies or underdeveloped economies/countries will prefer Social progress index as best way to measure standard of living as gross domestic products. It means, underdeveloped economies need basic necessities of life and modern infrastructure.
Oh will they prefer the social progress index will they
The index where the top 2 tiers and the top ten are all western countries and all in Europe except for 4
And the bottom tiers 5 and 6 are pretty much all in Africa
So come on then genius let's see your explanation of why the developing countries will prefer an index they rank bottom in vs an economic index where they also rank bottom in
Since you just claimed that index is the best way to measure quality of living it doesn't bode well for the developing world
Let's have it right shall we
Because you saw a chart somewhere that ranked the countries that made the biggest improvement from the previous years score you thought that it was a positive thing to reference yet unfortunately for you what you failed to understand was that in any annual countries index those that are in the bottom half will always have the biggest percent of improvement
It's doesn't change the fact they are still bottom
So no actually the way a person from a developing country would prefer to use the social index instead of a economic index ae those who have misinterpreted the index just like you
If you had any Idea what you're talking about you'd know that the lowest ranked gdp per capita countries are also just as they are in the social index they are the ones who make up the highest percentage of gdp per capita growth
And I'm not going to tell you why that is to prove my point that you don't know what you are talking about
I'll give you a clue
If you have a starting point of 1000 capital year beginning
And I have 100,000 beginning year capital
And year ending we compare eachothes percent of interest gained
You could have a 60 percent gain
While I only have 10 percent gain
Does that mean you had a better year than me
No because 10 percent of 100 thousand is more than 60 percent of 1 thousand
Do you comprehend
Probably not
@@IrishCinnsealach You sound like a person that overestimates their intelligence.

THANKS. THE. QUEEN. AND. PROME. MINISTER. OF. AFRIKA.
A LIONESS.
Indeed, GDP is a flawed measure of how good a country is doing. Suffice to say that the work done by housewives is not accounted for, although it's quite substantial.
Wow! That was an off the cuff remark hardly, a 'speech' & ext sensible and articulate!! Ajay Banga, President of the WB isn't even an economist would've been interesting to hear his response to that incisive remark.
So, if they are strong words, let us implement them because they are reality.
So this is why I am now hearing about the global South.
True. Nominal GDP is useless. GDP by PPP is more indicative of an economy's health.
Aunty Mottley👏🏾
Give without interest money oppressing anyone it's vital 😊
I totally agree with the Barbados PM. Long term lending is what works for long term development needs 😂🎉
I like it
👍
Something I've been lecturing about for months!!!
GDP is a misunderstood term if your country goes out and borrows 100 billion dollars and spends it your GDP will go up but that's not necessarily a good sign because you didn'tearn the money.
The US has the highest GDP because it prints the most debt
Very articulate speaker. Per capital GDP in globalized markets where competition is few(oligopolies) or domestically fierce(saturated retail), and foreign investors ROI finance lending ratios are outrageous/oppressive resulting in higher taxation levied by Gov to the citizens at every turn…and with short terms aka constraints lending. How about they use what small/midsize/large corporations use, “a (national) balance sheet” in addition to GDP & other financial ratios aka a more detailed & comprehensive view to move forward in a more fair manner. IMF/World bank/WTO etc are like Loan shark capitalists in a nutshell, the smaller economies of scale nations better off just going on shark tank or dragons den to pitch to some private lenders smh.
Wow! That post was awesome. Thank you for articulating it such a beautiful way
Stop the Banksters
Not going to get them to see you or respect you. Alternatives are needed that don't have anything to do with Europe or the US

The Prime Minister of Barbados is Very unapologetically wise. #Barbados
It is a great point. But, how do you go about rating a country, which is struggling currently for 40 years into the future?
["Interesting."]
["Reforms of the Global Financial Banking System for the benefit of Descendants of Afrika? It's wishful thinking but i doubt it's likely to happens."]
WB ain't gna do diddly squat.
Why would she want to push Barbados into long-term debt traps with these organizations? The IMF, World Bank and UN have all colluded to impede economic and military advancement of African/Diasporan nations. Despite her point on GDP, the borrower is always slave to the lender, so her speech is more disappointing than it is impressive.
Maybe PM Mia Motley would benefit by starting to read the many texts by Prof. Thomas Sowell, the Afro-American Economist and Humanist, before trying to teach others how economies should be run. I will repeat what my father taught me when young, which is that no one is due what he has not worked for, purely by taking it from those that have earned it.
Hi .. can someone explain how these tiny countries were ever going to survive after independance... especially in a financially oppressive and corrupt world. "MONEY TALKS BUT IT DONT SING AND DANCE LIKE YOU AND ME BABE"
That was a World spech wake up and smell the coffee
How about everyone stop using metrics the west controls and sets? Like determining which country is the most "happiest"-it's always a western European country or which country has the best treatment for women and immigrants/most innovation-once again it's always a European country or which country has the most "romantic" language AGAIN its always a European country.
Africa, Asia, The Caribbeans and The Middle should use their own metrics for their own continents/ regions and exclude the west altogether. Everyone is out here talking about pre colonialism when you are STILL going by what master deems correct. Idgaf about Europe or white people, thank you Mia for keeping it 100%
Oh you couldn't of highlighted your bitterly twisted jealousy more if you tried
Metrics the west controls
God damn the west for creating the ricter scale Celsius kilometres miles centimetres
Kg altitude nautical miles
God damn Europe for being innovative and for being responsible for friedchicken to make that ignorant comment because they invented the computer the Internet the world Wide Web
How dare Europe rank the happiest through detailed statistical analysis
How dare Europe create the languages that make women swoon
They middle should use their own metrics for their continents
Wait who is responsible for defining the continents
A European
Best not use that then
You can put it in the bin along with the name africa Caribbean asia
You know since those pesky Europeans are the ones who name them
No more using the equator to set the boundary of the northern hemisphere and southern hemisphere
Since that was the French who drew that line
How about you stop using the English language
That's something you can do easily unlike your bright idea to stop using metrics that you don't like because big bad Europeans created them
Just when I thought I'd seen the dumbest comments born out of anti western bias envy you come along and tip the scales
Woops i used scale another European metric
Oops I used metric from the French word métrique pertaining to the system based on the meter
Here's the hysterical irony of your pathetic comment
You couldn't even say stop using metrics if it wasn't for those dastardly Europeans
😂😂
SHE IS SAYING THE RIGHT THING BUT, LAST TIME SHE SUPPORT FRANCE PRESIDENT 🇫🇷, MACRON THAT IS NOT GOOD
Hehe, fancy pants said GDP is overrated 😅, knew this was the case since high school in the 80's when Regan did whatever the hell he wanted
UN IS EST FROM COLONIAL MASTERS IN 1942 😭😭😭😭
This was unclear. If countries have rapid real GDP growth then a country will have the tax revenues and donations to charity to do the things she wants.
GDP is a mirage. PPP is a better indicator of how the rank and file citizens are doing.
@@hot2warmReal GDP is adjusted for PPP or the cost of living.
What is wrong with you? Why not show what Ajay Banga said? I've heard him speak at WEF before, insightful individual.
She’s requesting free money and low interest loans when her country has a poor track record of property spending money and repaying loans. Tell them to reach out to Russia or China.
You are ignorant, colonial interest rates charged on developing countries are far much higher than rates charged on Western countries. They don’t have to reach out to anyone, how about they refuse to pay, increase the prices of raw materials exponentially, boycott the dollar for gold and remove all leaders installed by the West. That should wake you up. They are asking for a level playing field.
The balance between a market economy and a planned economy is a choice each country has to make. Both can work if the leaders have good character and wisdom. Wisdom in dealing with debt is critical. Seconds to sign, years to repay.
Exactly, and well said! The comments are praising her speech because it supposedly "lectures" the head of the IMF "like a child," without considering the long-term consequences for what she's advocating.
head of a white mans weaponry
Nobody got owned here. I don't think understand what "lecturing someone" even means. You probably never HAD a lecture.
All I hear is abcdefhijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
She is entirely wrong, you cannot borrow to live, a hospital is a form of life not an investment. That means you are confused and will not be successful. Hospitals are a result of successful investments. Investments are money making ventures not life living estates. The country is doomed
Lecture them like a child , then still beg them for money 😂
Who is Barbados begging for money from?
@@aliciawilliams8817 From the World Bank
@@thebeatnumber There is no begging involved genius. They ask for loans from the world bank, like most countries in the world that are not sanctioned, literally. Heck, her entire speech in this video is about those lines of credit. Why do ignorant people say stupid stuff online like they understand what's going on in the world? know your place and stop talking about things above your intellectual level. The world would be a better place if you ignorants stayed silent.
@@oldmanjesus9855 Do the United States, Japan, Germany or China ask for loans from the World Bank? No. Because the World Bank was created for poor 3rd world hovels like the ones in Sub Saharan Africa and the Caribbean. Imagine being stupid enough not to understand how the economic order of the world works and that you're basically at the bottom of the pyramid as far as financial independence is concerned.
@@thebeatnumber do they ask for loans?
No because those countries are the only reason imf loans are possible
Where do you think the money comes from?
the United States, china,Japan, and France, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom Brazil India russia
Are the top ten contributing countries to the imf fund
So what are you saying then
That those countries should just drop their imf quota and the third world hovels can find someone else to borrow off
You're the one who doesn't understand the economics
Stop begging and start working, if your country is poor do something about it ,if you want money create value, but stop borrowing money that you can't repay.
When you go to the bank for a loan are you begging. When you have to pay back with interest it cannot be begging. Who are you and which rock did you crawl from under.
How about they start by paying back the wages they stole from us and the country's taxes with the FREE LABOUR they got for 400 years.
Africans are intelligent and genius
