Today there is lot of social media influence and Arijit is talented enough to take advantage of that. Sonu after his fallout with t series has decline in songs in bollywood...but I truly respect him to point out what's wrong in the bollywood music industry..Arijit can't risk to do that when he is at his peak of his career. There is no point in comparing the two generation singers. Nowadays it's just husky voice trend and autotune and high tempo music . In terms of knowledge and technicality definitely Sonu Nigam is the last singer to achieve superstar level stardom ( just like 3 khans in acting ) . There will not be such stardom just because of talent in future ..it will only be decided on the UA-cam views and other nonsense parameters. But yes Arijit is great in the current generation ( modern) that is technically sound and has good control over it....comparing him to Sonu is not fair also Sonu has stayed relevant and at top amongst Shaan, Udit Narayan, Kumar sanu and many brilliant singers....Arijit sadly has no such competition
Sonu Nigam stood for the Copy Right Law at the peak of his career. He was boycotted for that by music labels for about 6-7 years, and a lot of younger singers took advantage of his absence. I will not name them. I don't buy that Arijit cannot speak up at the peak of his career. Sonu did not bend down even threatened by Salman Kahn , Arijit wrote Salman a letter apologizing for literally nothing, and then apologized 10 times on Twitter. It's a question of courage and honesty. Either you have it or not. Sonu Nigam has it. thats it.
