I was thinking 'anchor deeper & swim ashore' ........ then I remembered how far North you are🐊🦈🐊, I normally anchor deep and kayak to shore but that doesn't work either up where you are 🐊!! I'm visiting Noosa at the moment, yesterday plastics failed to get a single bite ( toadfish 'pecks' don't count😡) but the only fish I saw from the kayak were spotted eagle rays and a handful of leopard whip rays 🤔. Monster queenie & golden you had there, groper was a big old pig too😵👍
How crazy were the gropers? Were you chasing flathead on the plastics? They can be tricky sometimes but generally, the flathead bite all throughout winter.
Wardy's Fishing - yep, chasing flathead. Fishing without a sounder, flicked around some pontoons too😢. Noosa's a bit of a bogey for me 30cm is the biggest flathead I've had there.
