- Team Dominator storm chasers intercept multiple tornadoes with a rare February severe weather outbreak across the Great Lakes Region! Temperatures rocketed into the 70s and supercells erupted west of Chicago, dropping tornadoes and gorilla hail. We were directly in the path of a scary nighttime tornado near Somonauk, Illinois. Baseball hail shredded the rental. Never stop chasing

Never Stop Chasing
/ @reedtimmerwx
Incredible chase, incredible footage, incredible storm chasers….. thank you for your desire and skills to bring it to us….. “never stop chasing”…!
He risks his life for youtube
@r765 He risks his life for the betterment of our understanding of tornadoes, supercells, and other weather phenomena. Not youtube.
Only Reed can dominate like this. Truly a treasure doing all this for science and to help us.
Absolutely incredible
@@brydon-halohunter 9io
“It’s coming right at us…. YES!!” …. words you will NEVER hear me say in regards to a tornado 😂 😳
Fr lmao 😂
I said those words in Oak Lawn in 1967 and it did !!! missed me by half a city block [100yds]
Right im scared to death of them
Lol
@@williamdenton-qd3snI remember that day very well. I was 7 yrs old and lived in Oregon IL at the time. We had tornado warnings with the sirens several times that day and into the night.
Reeds picture is posted inside of every rental car provider in the country with the note NEVER RENT TO THIS GUY!
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
😅😅
I should have read All the comments before I posted something similar. So true!
Too funny!
I have to say that the last person I saw with so much passion for what they do was an Australian guy that played with crocodiles.
Thank god those tornadoes don't have stingrays inside of them.
May he rest in peace
I am an Aussie person as well.
Raynado
That's raylly insensitive, man.@@CDubRealTalk
Reed is the only person I know of who laughs when his car is getting pelted with hail.
I do enjoy the process of hail
Because when he’s not in the dominator it most likely belongs to someone else. Lol !
Night chasing is so sketchy. So glad you guys always know what you are doing.
The light show really helped in this situation. Funnels stand right out when there's lots of lightning.
Yes, I lived in Oklahoma back in 2013 the tornado outbreak was insane and so many at night. Needless, to say I live in South Carolina now lol
How does SNL go without doing a Reed Timmer skit?
😂 agreed he is the fire house bill of the weather world: let me show ya something!! Say your driving 30 mph straight into a beefy wall cloud and baseball size hail starts disintegrating your car!!! you don't want to do THIS!!! TORNADO 🌪 🪚⚔🤡😵🤕
Well at least Glen Powell is playing him in the new Twisters movie, lol
Because SNL is not funny.
Hes like fire masrshall bill
@@womanatwellworshiptheFather That was MadTV, to be differentiated from SNL, as it was actually funny.
Great chasing from Reed and Edgar!
Always! Reed is a ripper!
My husband and I went to a SkyWarn class last night so that we could be volunteer spotters for the NWS!
It was super cool watching this with a greater understanding of what is going on, terminology, and now knowing where to look/what to look for. Thank y'all for the work and stay safe 💜 God bless
I was listening to them yesterday on my radio. I need to find a class
Reed has an incredible advantage over other storm chasers......his brain. He IS weather! 🐐🐐
Pro tip: When Reed Timmer is chasing a tornado and you start to recognize that he's coming towards your neighborhood, you better take shelter! I was prepared, but thankfully tornado started to veer north before it got to me. Also grateful that it didn't hit the particle accelerator at Fermilab in Batavia. 😱
I love Reed's energy and enthusiasm 😀 Hope you have a brilliant storm chasing season.
We stayed in the basement for fifteen minutes after midnight this morning. The hail was wild and scary. It would stop and go silent again and again. Hail was bouncing off our storm windows I thought they would break. Small tornado touched down just a couple miles east of us. Marshal Michigan.
That must have been terrifying!
Glad you're safe. I'm in Saugatuck/ Douglas area. LOTS of thunder and lightning 🌩.
@@emilyflotilla931 thank you fellow Michigander 👉🤚 Glad you guys are okay. What a storm eh? Our neighbor's trampoline is still in their tree.
We had a tornado touch down 17 miles south of my town last night in northern IL.
@ShlisaShell It's so scary to see the way things get tossed around and where they land.
You can just feel reeds passion thru the damn screen! Love it reed stay safe my guy❤
Never stop chasing
Hats off to Edgar, you did a seriously good job as cameraman. 🎉😊
first time i watched a livestream was this storm chase, coolest thing ive watched live
Thanks for watching Andrew, great to have you aboard Team Dominator!
Those tornado sirens in Elgin, Illinois last night scared the heck out of the residents.
It scared the shit out of more than just Elgin. Sycamore, DeKalb, Elburn, Geneva, Batavia … got relatives in all those towns. Scared us all.
A legendary storm chaser that never stops. I've been a big fan of you since 2008. Never stop chasing!
Thank you for the advanced warning for Batavia.
Always good and bad to know you are around. Wish I could have bought you dinner!
Never stop chasing!
No problem! I am glad you are okay!
I ended up being just outside the path of one of these, thanks for the feed, Reed. Never been so scared in my life.
Never stop chasing.
Reed going to have to start wearing disguises to get rental cars, lol.
Or have someone else rent it for him.
Great chemistry between you two, perfectly matched energy love it!
Edgar does incredible work
Helluva night Reed! Thanks for chasing and keeping us informed 😊
There was a touch down on 2/27 in NWI at the steel mills, it went out to Lake Michigan and turned to a water spout, wild stuff
I love tornados just as much as any storm chaser not named Reed cuz that man is just as excited for a weak EF1 as he is for a monster EF5.
So the legendary Reed Timmer and team were basically in my back yard yesterday and I missed it? Crazy storms last night for sure!
It’s so cool yet so scary you drove right behind my house near Aurora as I was hiding under the pool table. I was showing my mom your live stream as it was going over us
What a great start to the chasing season Team Dominator! There is always a little bit of luck involved but the great skill y’all have got you where you could get the shots!!
8:53 - 9:06 looks so creepy.. The amazing camera work and only the sound of rain with the tornado in the background
Edgar did such a great job recording this chase
@@ReedTimmerWxAgreed! Love your videos, I’ve been watching your content since the Storm Chasers days. As always, keep dominating!
Oh hey, this is the storm that hit us at home last night!!! So cool knowing we were in the same storm as Reed!!!!!
Hey thats me turning south at the 6:58 mark just before the Hinckley tornado! Nice job yall. Those QLCS circs are tough to position for!
Still kicking ass all these years!! Great job Reed!!
I cant wait to get my chase on this year!
My favorite tornado chaser was in my state that’s awesome
Same!
So exciting seeing that first one show such definition!
Yes that nub was nuts. Beautiful structure. Thick convective wall cloud
My man Reed on the job! This is gonna be a big year for you dude.
Yes this year could be very active, especially across traditional tornado alley I think
I was at my high school in northeast Illinois when the siren off, there were 3 different band groups practicing that all had to compact into the very downstairs basement of the school. We got few updates but you could feel the suspense when someone said there was a tornado in Vernon Hills (where our sister school was, we are only a few miles north of them)
Wondering if dented vehicles Reed uses would bring high dollar in an auction ! ? ! With Reed's signing on the dashboard !😉
I'd buy one!
Nice job, guys! Great intercept. The massive number of lightning strikes kept the subject illuminated.
Awesome chasing last night!
That first funnel cloud got huge!
Your insurance company must hate you 🤣🤣🤣 Bloody awesome!
RIP rental car..... saw the whole thing happen live. Storm beat the heck of you both with .
Stay safe Reed!
I would've loved to have been with you guys for that !!!
I am so interested in all of that stuff.
I was in the tornado that went through Ft. Campbell, KY & Clarksville, TN back in '99, while we were out in the field, and we couldn't get our trucks to us in time to avoid getting caught in it.
Keep up the great work !!!
Stay "safe", well, as safe as you can while chasing !!!
Reed, the Sugar Grove/Batavia/Geneva tornado passed roughly 50yrds from the back of my house and it was unbelievable to see. Keeping your live stream and my radar apps on at the time was a blessing to keeping my family safe and informed…thanks and keep dominating!!
thank you reed, edgar and brian
Love watching you chase reed! I'm in Dayton ohio and I know you couldn't chase the Dayton tornados a couple years ago. My daughter lives by the base in Fairborn and it got some damage along with multiple homes on her street with whole roofs GONE!
Nice Chase!! @ryanhallyall was missing working with you last night on stream! He told us to let you know
Torando season for Illinois is going to be crazy this year and what’s so weird is that Illinois doesn’t really get tornadoes
We do get them just not that many in northern IL. 1967 Belvidere/Oaklawn - I was just 7 yrs old but will never forget that horrific day, 1990 Plainfield, 2015 Rochelle/Fairdale (this EF4 monster was less than 20 miles from my house).
Illinois has always gotten tornadoes 🌪️
Baseball hail shredded the rental. Never stop chasing
@@mgriffin42455Thinking the same! Wonder how many claims he's made
@@psynurse Yes, sadly hail damage can total a car because of the amount of body work needed.
The hail was much smaller 50 - 60 miles west of Chicago.
Rental Agent: Timmer? Reed Timmer?! I'm sorry, we're out of cars.
@@kennethlacewell1517lol. No kidding!
Awesome chase reed and Edgar. Have a great day be safe out there.
Man last night was crazy with these storms!
Reed's energy when it comes to chasing is unmatched.
How many times do you guys think Reed says "Big Time Tornado" or "Big time hail" during a chase?😂
Enough to get a few drinks in
*not even a real tornado yet*
"BIG TIME TORNADO, BIG BIG TIME TORNADO!!!"
@@cody555903😂😂😂
Reeds enthusiasm reminds me of when my kids saw a firetruck when they were kids. Instead of "FIRETRUCK!!" It's "FUNNEL CLOUD!!!"
i tend to watch his videos on mute
@@tamaramaule6928 he is very obnoxious to listed to!
I’m in Michigan and last night I had a tornado and my grandma told me it lift up her car. 💀
I watched some of the parts in this vid on the stream last night Incredible! Never stop chasing!
I wish I could be as excited about anything as much as Reed is about tornados. From a Chicagoland local, thank you for the amazing footage.
Watched this live last night it was definitely a busy crazy night!! Thank you for sharing this with us and keeping many people safe!
What a wild ride last night! Thanks gents.
Excellent work!
Beautiful Work Guys!!!! 🌪⛈️
Did Reed say “Don’t you understand Bernoulli?!?!” 😂
5:15 "Don't you know Bernoulli!?!?" Lmao great
Ooh wee! Thanks, Reed and Edgar!
Has anyone seen a video or photos of the car after the Gorilla Hail?
This whole video was amazing. Keep up the good work Reed.
Tornado Mania, La Ratta!!!
Yes a regional tornado outbreak
So glad that you shared this with us and glad that you all are okay. That tornado was so close.
Pecos hank is my favorite storm chaser but I believe reed is the best storm chaser
You guys got me absolutely so excited alongside with you! Great footage, so cool to watch on stream as it happened, let’s go dominators!
Great chase, guys! It made me nostalgic for the time I spent at NIU in DeKalb, Illinois. We came close to that situation one afternoon, but were fortunate never to get hit by large hail or a tornado in the years that I spent there. I'm also an OU graduate and I enjoy keeping up with your adventures across the country, Reed.
This was crazy to watch! Thanks for posting!!
Remind me never to rent you a car LOL !
Wonder how the windmill farms stood up in this lol!
Whenever I hear Reed Timmer’s excitement at seeing a tornado he always reminds me of my son on Christmas morning.
“SANTA WAS HERE!!”
“SANTA WAS HERE!!”
He’s 42 now lol
Excellent work guys! 👍🌪️
watched it live. wild experince
I’ve never seen more excitement from a chaser for a funnel cloud😂😂 Ik you and every storm chaser have waited a long fall and winter for storm season!!
What a great video! Keep on chasing weather Reed. Loved it.
What was that turkey gobble right at the end 😂
Mimicking the NWS Weather Radio I believe for when they issue new warnings.
Thats what the alarm noise is for national weather service in the t.i.v
sounds like a 🦃 instead of that emergency alert alarm ... if you hear that turkey means new tornado warning. Sounds better after u hear it go off 1000 times during chase
Kind of like in the South Park fps game on N64 and PS1, if you hear that gobbling you got a horde of killer turkeys coming at you! 🦃
@@skywatchermissouri4172 also a pretty ominous sound to inform people of possible impending doom dyt? Lol
Reed Timmer: BIG TIME TORNADO!!! Pecos Hank: Dangly bits. 🤣
Pecos Hank has the funniest vernacular 😂
You were spot on yesterday
Awesome footage!
Outstanding as usual Team Dominator!
Reed And his Roadies Dominate Nados Good!!
Reed, I love that after seeing HUNDREDS of tornados, you still get just as excited each and every time. That tells me this is a true passion of yours! ✌🏽 much Respect to you (from Freddy's mod - Paige)
Went just north of my work, wasn’t at work at the time but wow I’ve never had one come that close to anywhere I normally am.
I recommend some Night Vision Goggles and Cameras if Night Tornadoes are becoming more common.
Great idea
Reed really is the Steve Irwin of chasing
Tornadoes at night are the scariest natural phenomenon to me.
(...note to self...turn volume down to "1"...😉😁😂...) All joking aside, I am sure it will be a fantastic video! 👍
Lol, I have to agree!
Live in the Chicago area. Next day forecaster on ABC7 said as many tornadoes in Illinois on that day as the previous 3 years combined. Town I live in blew the siren after the storm passed .
You were so close to me! You guys are the reason I want to do something similar when I'm older. It was absolutely amazing!
The craziest thing to me is Tom Skilling officially retires today. Meaning, in his last couple of days as a meteorologist he was blessed with temps in the mid-70s during the day followed by a beautiful storm system at night. And the truly poetic part is he was able to report on all of this on his last official day on the job.
Crazy weather day to retire on wow
I will miss him. Tom is an absolute legend.
GraupelMania! Any day after pix of the chase vehicle? It was getting hammered pretty good. "It's not new anymore" 😆
1:50 “City of Compton!” Lol
BIG TIME TORNADO HAPPENING! Where? 🤔 😆 Gotta love the passion.
Absolutely love tornadoes especially the ones with multi vortex structure I hope we see an EF5 this season.
Growing up in tornado alley it’s the nocturnal ones that always make me nervous. They are so hard to see coming! Thanks for sharing. Stay safe out there.
Great chase Reed and Edgar!!! ❤❤
