I am 17 years old and I grew up listening to the Red Hot Chili Pepper (thanks to my parents) , I love this music! I never got bored listening to you guys. It is amazing that they are still going strong after this many years. They also inspired me to play bass. Keep on going.
Probably one of their dreamiest and ethereal tracks yet. Felt like I was listening to Pink Floyd for second. One of the best songs on the album so far.
For those who have already listened John singing the bee gees in live concerts, it's clearly his reference in the album while the poster child it's the funky reference from flea. I'm loving how this album seems to be constructed. Although John is an old member, his return brought a fresh new start to the band

After 10 years of trying and 4 missed opportunities I have managed to obtain tickets to a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert in Nashville, TN this coming August and I am very pleased and excited to finally be able to cross #1 off my bucket list

John is back, and so the magic. The chemistry that these four awesome musicians manage to create when they write and play music together is just unbelievable. Unlimited love for these new tracks and for the way they are beautifully different from each other. Absolutely excited to hear the whole album, I'm just eagerly waiting for it (and to see them live) since John returned.
I think the three tracks are crap to be honest. I appreciate music is subjective. I’ve got hugely diverse taste, but this is pretty poor I feel like it’s an April fools joke.

My absolute album favourite - it sends electrifying chills throughout my body in the same way as Don't Forget Me does. It's not a world away either - kind of an intensely heartfelt, gut wrenching and soul searching song which sort of meets the guitar twangs and spacey synthesizer effects of Venice Queen. Bittersweet, introspective, reflective and sincere - not a lyric or an instrument out of place. In my opinion this song and Don't Forget Me demonstrate the Chili Peppers at their most spine tingling, sophisticated and above all most transcending. (That said I love the funk on the new record as well. Poster Child and She's a Lover for me win hands down for the funkiest plays - extraordinary bass lines, drumbeats and guitars and both notable for Kiedis's singing and the return of Frusciante's Blood Sugar style falsetto backing vocals).

Although I have soo many more songs I tune to before I run to it, "Should of Lied" has been my favorite since '91, 7th grade. Crazy to think John was only 19 on BLOOD Sugar. "Wetsand", is where the Peppers show their ability to throw in their collective mastery of artistic musicianshic. The open chord progressions, John somehow creates with random finger placements. How Flea really just allows the bass line to match the rhythm and pattern keeping in beat with the notes. Chad, well, when can you not count on Chad to come through with exactly how you think the beat will go. Anthony, really shows his ability to play with poetry and prose. It's quite amazing how his lirics are sophisticated and educational, full of love and humble gratitude and then can Create a melody on top of the foundation of the whole song, the investigation of the meaning behind the words and the 3 or 4 times the song transitions then concludes with a freakin Harpsichord and John really making his Ax Shed those tears then immediately go into that jazzy funk smokey bar with red liights vibe with the impressive "Hey" We can't forget about Rick Ruben though. He's like the 5th Pepper. Lol
It is amazing that these guys are together still. Hope there are something more vibrant on the record than this. Maybe it grows on me but in my opinion none of these 3 singles has greatest hits potential. Maybe they should have put out a single record instead of a double....let's see.

While this is correct, you also can't replace or manipulate in any way the unique vocals of Anthony Kiedis so that they can sound compatible with the expected musical standards. They don't wanna hide it, else they would have had fired him and replaced him with a more commercial vocalist, but they have kept him, and his vocals have become so iconic and recognizable nowadays that people will die to have them.

It's quite amazing how his lirics are sophisticated and educational, full of love and humble gratitude and then can Create a melody on top of the foundation of the whole song, the investigation of the meaning behind the words and the 3 or 4 times the song transitions then concludes with a freakin Harpsichord and John really making his Ax Shed those tears then immediately go into that jazzy funk smokey bar with red liights vibe with the impressive "Hey"
We can't forget about Rick Ruben though. He's like the 5th Pepper. Lol

It is amazing that these guys are together still. Hope there are something more vibrant on the record than this. Maybe it grows on me but in my opinion none of these 3 singles has greatest hits potential. Maybe they should have put out a single record instead of a double....let's see.

I know in this song the focus in on Anthony and he's just amazing but that bass line... Oh my god. So melodic and beautiful, almost in a neobaroque way that complements the song perfectly.

While this isn't their usual style it's still executed so well, got damn their music is in its own league 🥰
While this is correct, you also can't replace or manipulate in any way the unique vocals of Anthony Kiedis so that they can sound compatible with the expected musical standards. They don't wanna hide it, else they would have had fired him and replaced him with a more commercial vocalist, but they have kept him, and his vocals have become so iconic and recognizable nowadays that people will die to have them.
This is their usual style
I always love these RHCP songs. I Could Have Lied, Tearjerker and Porcelain are among my favourites.

El album es alucinante. De lo mejor , y esta canción encaja muy bien en él. Es como un viaje por estilos sin parar, con torrentes de buenas ideas. Aquí yo lo veo como que se inspiraban en temas más 70 u 80 tipo elton John , y quedó muy bien. Tiene aún más sentido en el disco. Pero si uno escucha el disco, entiende la problemática de seleccionar un single. Son temas que mezclan más de un estilo retro y no comercial. Cada cual escuchándolo tendrá claro cuales habría seleccionado. Yo The heavy wing y White Braids & pillow chair.

Sinceramente, eu discordo de você. Até então, esse álbum é o mais fraco do rhcp PARA MIM. Faltam melodias marcantes, falta aquele punch ao ouvir uma música do red hot.
