It is incredible how much "grandeur" you can achieve in your paintings which a relatively simple approach and this shows how good you are. If I had a better financial situation now I would buy this painting, despite any mold.
Hi Stuart, lovely landscape scenery with dramatic sky, as well as an interesting demonstration of glazes to enhance the colours underneath. It is a shame that this wonderful scene has been affected by mould. I am guessing that the paintings are stored in an area where there is an extreme cold spot? Hopefully this wintry icy cold weather will come to an end soon and the atmosphere starts to warm up for you. Hi Stuart! Greetings from Michigan. Can’t believe the quick, transformation of this painting when you began the glazing. When you added the bright white cloud in the right side then started in with the Japanese Red, I was like, “Wow!”, just beautiful. Amazing what these glazed can do. Thank you again for your wonderful lessons. I am a bit concerned about the possible mold issues in your home. I have histamine/mast cell issues which have made me increasingly sensitive to mold, dust, dander, etc. as I’ve gotten older. At the same time (late 50’s early 60s) I began to develop pronounced food intolerances. I couldn’t seem to eat ANYTHING that didn’t set off some kind off reaction. However, I finally found a prominent allergist/immunologist and rheumatologist to correctly diagnose and address my mystery symptoms and am now on medications which have helped me immensely. I recently hired a biochemist who specializes in air quality testing and, fortunately, he did not find anything worrisome, mold-wise, in our home. Just wondering if that not might possibly be a good idea for improving your health going forward. Anyway, sorry to ramble on! Hope you continue to feel well because we all enjoy your videos so much! ❤️
Hi Katherine, I had severe food intolerance for about 5 years before my heart problem started. When the heart problem arrived, the food problem stopped. I think the best solution for me is to live in a beach house, in a warm climate... I wish!

I get my Japanese Red at Gerstaecker. The have branch stores in Germany, Austria, Netherlands, France and GB. Just look it up online. Brilliant glazing! Very lovely painting. Thank you, Stuart
I could prevent mold in my paintings adding some rosemary oil ( it is a solvent) to the first lean paint layer, some people use tree balm oil but I prefer rosemary because it substitutes terpentine.
Wondweful short video. I have many that need finishing, however too cold in the garage at the moment. And yes we do have a cat with her own room. Got a new dog last year and she moved in the spare room. Thanks as always

It's amazing how we quickly the painting changed and became more interesting with the red and blue you added. And the clouds are awesome.. you make it look so easy. I've looked out a few of my photos and found a couple that would make super tonal paintings. So going to have a go as soon as I can get a couple of those flat brushes.

The painting seemed perfect before you added the glazing yet once you added it it seemed to be even more perfect, eye-catching and quite strikingly lovely and lively. 😊 As far as the Japanese red goes it seems closer to burnt umber than vermilion in my paints.

OMG! This is just what I needed! I found one of my "large" old painting, not finished, in my garage and your video it is just what I need to save it! I was contemplating to paint some gesso on it and start a new..... because it is very large canvass and I did not wish to lose it. You have almost coverd the mold dods. When this layer is dry you could put a clear coat of oil paint so the painting is conserved. If that is the right word. Sorry my Englisch is not 100%. The pictures shows the real painting and it looks amazing. In de video a bit dull. It would be a shame if this painting gets lost in the near future :( Hope you have a nice day Stuart :D

My most-used red is Venetian Red now. It's gorgeous, incredibly pigment-dense so a little goes a very, very long way.

Love your videos. I have linseed oil with a mould inhibitor in it. Will this cause trouble with my paints??
Add Clove Oil to the oil you use fir your board your , it prevents mold growth.

They are just cheap decorating brushes. Bristle, not nylon.

When you use glazing, how do you keep the fat over lean rule ,in check!? Are you not worried with cracking of the paint!?🌿

I use paint very thinly and I make sure the first coat is completely dry, so there isn't any chance of cracking.
