- This is a look at Nuevo Tokyo's Keirin Showcase last weekend. It's quite an exciting project that I would love to see succeed. With this video my goal was to summarize what has been going on with this project as there isn't too much info online. Hope you enjoy learning about it!

Since I was talking about film and the Noize presets I figured I'd try adding some grain to the A-roll 📷🎞
Also, I found this tweet about REMOFLSH after making the vid, seems like It adds a magnetic dome system, which allows for various types of interchangeable Fresnel and colored light diffusers twitter.com/nuevo_tokyo/status/1777911897427513399
I suspect this appears in my YT feed because I’ve been looking into panoramic shooting tools, but this camera really appeals to me . Wonderful concept and design. I will follow them along
Seems like the algorithm is working for you Dennis 📷
The industrial design is perfect. I'd love to see more!
It is quite striking, that's certainly what drew my attention 👀
This is one of those few videos reviewing the camera. Ever since I found them I kept following along. There’d be a lot of room left for testing.
That's exactly why I made the vid, couldn't find any other videos covering it. Super excited to see how it shapes up!
I remember when big companies like Motorola with Moto Z used to play around with cool stuff like mods, especially the camera mod. It's a shame they don't do that anymore. I had a blast with my Samsung Galaxy K Zoom back then, it was such a cool experience.
I almost forgot about the Galaxy K zoom! My buddy in middle school had a phone with a zoom like that in Japan I think it was an NTT docomo phone. While I love having 10x in my S23 I do miss novelty devices like those. Moto mods were really cool, who knows if framework enters the phone space eventually maybe they'll do something like that 📱
That camera seems like a nightmare to actually use. I love the idea of making a panoramic camera, but touch screen controls? That camera will literally be unusable for half of the year where I live because it's cold. You know what's always accessible though? Dials.
That's a very valid point, it's the reason for example I prefer my over the ear bose headphones vs sonys that technically sound better but have touchscreen controls. Winter ❄️ is a pain for touchscreens, it is still a concept afterall. Like I mentioned I prefer manual controls on cameras too, just like in cars... I want a knob for the AC, I don't want to go thru a 3-layer touchscreen menu system to do a simple thing. If the team decides to come to market, this is something they will surely have to consider, perhaps adding more backup manual controls ⚙️
Sugoi! I hope it makes it to market.
🤞
I feel like there wasn’t enough thoughtfulness in this design. I like the look of it, I like the internal memory. But for ergonomics and durability, I can’t see how this camera makes any sense. With the base of the thumb on the grip (because the upper half is touchscreen), reaching the shutter must be very uncomfortable, no? Wouldn’t a single drop on concrete from even 3ft high be devastating? I just don’t see any functional advantages here. Please convince me otherwise, I want to root for this.
I think it's important to remember that it is still very much a concept, they seem to have just started to make physical/tactile prototypes. I agree with your statements Daniel, I think as they move along the process they will certainly have to make some changes. A few people have commented that touchscreen only isn't great for the cold, a very valid point. Meaning some manual backup controls would be important. I'm excited to see how it develops and I'm sure there will need to be some modifications made if it comes to the market.

Touch screen UI for exposure triangle sounds shit
I was thinking about that, perhaps if they had a slider on the right side to select iso, aperture and then the dial could adjust the respective control it would be more physical and tactile. That way you would have the choice btwn manual and touchscreen 🤔
Touch is a terrible UI experience, real photographers operate cameras in the dark, by feel, no time pull it away from your face
I think they need to find a good balance btwn manual controls and touch, still in its infancy so I think they have time. Touchscreens in the winter aren't great 😕
Is this a commercial?
I have 0 association with the company, just thought it looked like a cool project and couldn't find any videos about it
