What a journey, what a treat. Absolutely amazing.
I just wish I could hear a version where the audio isn't so heavily compressed - the dynamic range must have been massive in the room, and I wish I could experience that!
Thanks - true, in the space sound developed amazingly and took over itself a lot of dramaturgy.
This one's from the heart...
True, the transition celebration for the Grand Dame Christa De Carouge 🖤🎶
A beautiful and moving tribute - absolutely riveting.
thank you, happy to hear your understanding of it. 🖤
Legendary ❤

You are a BIG ARTIST!!!.........no words .just thank you......and be safe.
thank you, you too! Stau inspired, creative and safe!
What is the meaning of the techniques you use? Tapping on strings, the noise of clusters, the calmness of air chords? I definitely got the mood, but what's the message?
What is the unity of performance and musical language? Why was there a synthesis of music and actions needed here? Why are the threads of music and actions intertwined in the fabric of this performance?
This was the finissage of the last exhibition of Swiss fashion designer Christ De Carouge, our grande dame of fashion. Unfortunately she died a few weeks before this performance and so it became quasi a final celebration for her to say good bye or hello in the new world. It’s a ritual to show my respect and love for her work. The black substance is coal, the white is flour: fire and bread, death and life, since she served for every of her fashion performances after good smelling bread from the oven. I wear her clothes and use her fabrics from the exhibition. The rest you might understand when you dive into Japanese rituals but actually I just structured it in my way and we can experience as an art ritual.
Hope to see more stuff soon Nik!
yes, very soon more is coming, new solo record and a book...

Beautiful performance!!!
I've known you, Zen and your music for years and I'm always "contemplative, synaptic" blown away when I get to experience you!
But can you tell us a little bit about this session?
(would be very happy)
All the best
Hello Jan, this performance was made for the finissage of the exhibition about fashion designer Christa De Carouge, my mentor. Unfortunately she died a few weeks before this end of the exhibition so my performance became some sort of a final Adieu for her. I am celebrating her spirit in black and white with a musical ritual. The white substance is flour since she loved good quality bread, the black substance is coal. It is the most archaic and simple substance to write on the body. The performance transcends her love for a sensual live and my mourning about her death. It also had to offer the people the possibility to say goodbye to Christa.
We Need Bärtsch
Thank you, soon more stuff is coming!

And now you may applaud. Briefly.
applause has a short half-life, silence is more complex
