the song is a *VERSION* of "House of the Rising Sun". it seems as if this version was specifically tailored for the game. the changes in the lyrics are very specific to it. though i can't find anything concrete of who did this rendition - i think WE ALL WANT IT RELEASED AS A SINGLE (or *something*)!!
Laced Audio was commissioned to make a vinyl of the song but couldn't find the recording artist. Sounds kinda like Hozier

@@noejaun2540 ok, GREAT tip! they are *definitely* the ones that produced the songs from the trailers. both "house of the rising sun" as well as "god'll cut you down". they're out of the UK. i contacted them for more info... we'll see. i just f-ing LOVE the sound from whoever this artist is!

Played the first 3 missions. Most fun I’ve had playing a game in a very long time. Idc if it’s short i will replay this game over and over. It brings me back to the old 2000s era of games where you just played a game for fun and that’s it.

Agree, I don’t understand how this was slept on. First game that I just go out looking for combat. Doesn’t feel tedious and the art style is amazing.

Easily one of the best action games since DMC 5 amd it beings me back to a bygone era I grew up playing in. It bring back that popcorn fun similar to what you guys did with Shadow Warrior 3 earlier in the year.
"Evil never sleeps, but it bleeds" goes incredibly hard.
I saw the whole game is amazing, the atmosphere, the background music and of course the gameplay itself, I hope the developers will make a second part and expand it more, and there will be more bosses👌😁
Among all the silly open world RPGs out there, this surprising masterpiece stands out, steady and tall like a Vampire Hunter among a field of crawling ticks and leeches.

I'm 5-6 missions in. Amazing game. Story is incredible, lore is relative to what's going on and gives you a good backround, upgrade system is pretty cool, combat really fun and engaging, graphics 9/10 (I only saw a few graphical errors), only thing I wish it did was have an open world.
For the trailer of the game, even the original thematic song was made. That's cool.
Completed the game yesterday.... This is excellent game.... ..No rpg elements.This game feels like good old day's of gaming that I used to enjoy 10 years back and gameplay is awesome. Solid 7 to 8 hrs gameplay👍👍👍👍

Got it in Steam Summer Sale, was though in 11 hours and it was perfect.
Worth every penny! It's been so refreshing to play a game like this again without being drained at the end or abandoning it because it has too much unimportant side stuff for too long.

Best game ive Played in a While. No extra stuff needed to buy. Just get the game and have fun. Alone or with friends. About 11 Hours of campaign, which is repayable with upgraded abilities and weapons. Also lots to explore. Just pure fun! Love it!!

This turned out to be a true masterpiece! Started this game not long ago. I still enjoy this game as I progress through the story and become an even greater killingmachine! After The Surge 1 and 2 this also hits the right spot for me! Wish You guys could remake my old favourite game: Nightmare Creatures! With visuals like this and the pace of combat seen in Evil West, it would surely be a welcome reboot!

Same. Which i love. The type of game where you replay your favourite paarts every now and then as opposed to most huhe open world games (which are great too mind you) where you beat them and go finaaaaly its over, and never touch them again.
It's even more fun going thru new game+ on hard difficulty. Lovin' the fact they let u keep all your upgrades and perks and the fact they double the enemies, more chumps to rip through😈 Jesse is a beast!

Playing this game reminds me of the old linear games from the old days, I’m really enjoying this game so far.
While the game isn't perfect, we need games like this. That sweet AA spot between the indies and the AAA games. Plus it's an original IP? We really do need a ton more of these. I hope you guys make enough cash to start new projects like this and maybe follow up with an Evil West 2 someday where you take into account all the things the players have been saying about the game.
Well at least on steam (where most reviews are very positive), the reviews that are negative say they expected a long open world game with lots of side content and AAA presentation.
So je, they should rather listen to the people that love it and not to those who dont or we will end up with a sequel thats just like every other game nowadays. Games are not getting worse amd worse because of evilcorp. They do because of what gamers demand and buy.

Playing it rn,I should say this Game's combat is Great but would've been best if it took OPEN World Wild West Route
I can understand why some thought this game was lackluster, but Evil West was at the very least a natural gameplay experience, no microtransactions or overeliance on RPG elements, just simple gorgeous and satisfying monster killing fun with intuitive controls, the possibility of couch co-op (which is nearly extinct) and and a great array of weapons which you can use again in a new game plus mode, it certainly needed some more polishing, but it was simply fun and that was the game's purpose all along. I would gladly pick this game and play it again rather than other comercialized dogshit like Gotham Knights or the Avengers!

This reminds me of a game years ago, a vampire hunter turned vampire. And you fight hoards while on a train. Think it was called Darkwatch
He was a Outlaw that rob the wrong train turned out it belong too the Darkwatch an accidentally release a ancient vampire that turn him. Then the Darkwatch force him to join and destroy the evil he had unleash.
This game is awesome as I anticipate it I already completed the game for the best part I love the fact that you can keep the upgrades which makes the game less challenging

This world has a good potential for a Payday2 style assignments multiplayer mode. Where players can customize their hunter and work together to put down vampire threats. maybe for a sequel?
