Hello Ladies and Gentleman and as always thank you for watching!!! I ask for your patience, please. I have been battling pneumonia as well some other health issues this week. I was tested for the nasty bug going around and was found negative for the bug or its antibodies. Anyway, I made several mistakes during the editing of this week's video and I did not catch them even during my screening process. Several viewers noticed some things that I just couldn't allow and I must thank those viewers for helping me to keep this channel up to the standards we have all come to expect. So, again, please be patient. I removed this morning's video, did a few quick edits, and then uploaded the edited version. Since the video is so new it is currently only available is SD. This was a long video and it takes UA-cam's system a while to process HD. If you want to watch the HD version, wait a couple hours and it should be available. Even better, watch it now in SD and watch it later in HD!!! Thanks for patience and God bless.
You have immense patience. Your client would have had me pulling my hair out, but you handled him with great tact and patience. You deserve a lot of credit.
Ron, I am 76 years old and have had pneumonia only once, 2 years ago and it came at the worst time. It was a month before I was to move from Phoenix to a small town in Texas. It knocked me on my butt. I had to enlist my brother from Houston and a local friend to do most of the last few days of packing. I couldn't hardly walk across the room without getting winded. You are younger and in much better shape than I am, so you will probably recover quicker, BUT, don't be too eager to get back to work. Take it easy or you WILL regret it. It is nothing to take lightly. It will likely take months before you really feel back to normal again. I am saying prayers for your quick recovery. Keep up the great attitude that you show here. Your faith shines through every video and it is uplifting to see your work ethic and how you treat everyone.
Ron, you're the epitome of perseverance. You can just hear those cogs going around in your head as you figure out how to tackle these jobs. Nice work, mate.
It's so enjoyable to watch someone that enjoys what they are doing and KNOWS what they are doing. Just wish you had more videos more often. Many thanks for what you post.
Little trucks n equipment can do more than ppl think especially if u have a smart person behind the works and this man is a genius Missouri be proud n happy you have this guy n his family!!!
Ron. As a former Fireman in central Wisconsin. I applaud your measurements for safety. Being in the woods please make sure your staff have hard hats. I've personally seen a widow maker break through a hard hat on a wild land fire. The Fireman was taken to the ground and taken to the E.R. Only a small bandage. I've watched a hard hat get broken in half that day and save a life. You have a very talented crew and god bless you all.
Supper just had to wait. I couldn’t stop watching.. the mental work you put in a job is brilliant. David was right there with every thing you needed him for. Brilliant leader attentive helper made a great team...stay safe. Blessings. 🙏👠👠
I’ve been watching David since he started going with you. Appears he is a fast learner, I see doing things that need to be done without you telling him what to do. I think you found yourself a good employee. Sorry to hear your under the weather. Take care & get well soon!!
Ron please be careful thats nothing to mess with. Please rest and recoup. We want you around to give us more fantastic videos but your life is worth more than just that. I appreciate all you do as my daughter is a long haul driver and it means a lot. God bless
Prayers for you to feel better. My husband says you are an intelligent man doing all of the calculations you do in your towing work. This was a great video. Again, hope you feel better soon.
David seems to be coming along well on Rigging. I like how he isn't afraid to ask Questions and you also try to provide good explanations. Also helps a whole lot when the Customer is good spirited and you all get along like friends out for a day of fun in the Woods. Keep up the Good Work!!
Another good job done by Midwest Truck good to see David back on a job site with you Ron, I hope you your family and the Midwest crew have a wonderful weekend and keep staying safe out there
Prayers for your continued recovery and Praises it was not Covid-19. Your videos are the best in the business and I want to thank you for all the time, in addition to your regular job, that you spend editing and posting. God Bless!!
Oh dear! What a problem! Look, it's not just Ron that comes up with these! Well done for getting the job done with what the insurers were prepared to pay for. Good use of resources to hand as well and good apprentice training. Ron, you are obviously one of the good guys, and we all need a few of those at present. Stay safe. BobUK.
Watching the video all I kept thinking was”The little engine that could”. Who or how you gained physics and geometry thinking made the video a classic educational moment in time. Sure was a fast hour watching you on a rainy afternoon. Thank you.
I felt like I was right there with you! Recovery par excellence!! Nicely done ..... Years of experience sure pays off! Thank you for another great video. Again, may you, subscribers and viewers be Blessed. Stay safe and well.
Your up to the challenge Ron you never seize to amaze me nothing to big or small for you that’s how you do it ladies and gentlemen give Ron a round of applause 👏💪
As Krusty said below, you know your job , equipment and how to use it with precision. With calmness and professionalism. Staying in full control.👍 You're a good man Ron ,great channel and - bless you.
Thank you so much for uploading videos for people to watch. It’s awesome seeing someone with your expertise in your job field. Thanks for the safe and speedy recovery of vehicles. I wish you the best in your health, stay strong and please stay safe out there.
It is simply wonderful, delightful, and amazing to listen to your analysis and then implement the strategy to get the the job accomplished. God bless and take care.
Firstly, Thank you for all of your hard work, both in the field and behind the computer. Most importantly, I hope you are feeling better and get well soon. Glad to hear it wasn't the dreaded virus. You are an absolute professional in the towing and recovery industry. It is a pleasure to watch your videos. I must admit, in the beginning of the video when you were sizing up the job, I was wondering where the Rotator was. Sure enough, the explanation came soon enough. The dreaded insurance company decided it was a "simple 30 minute job" and decided not to pay what the recovery was worth. That was a lot of work. I wish I could pay my insurance premiums at what I think their insurance is worth. But alas, they might go broke. Dead Deere out of the woods. Happy customer. And another job completed with true professionalism. Thank you again and God Bless.
Welker Farms in Shelby, MT just bought some Yankum ropes for pulling their Big Bud tractors free if they get stuck during spring planting. Glad you were negative for the nasty bug, hope you get feeling better soon.
Sir you have my heartfelt respect as a hard working consciousness owner of your profession. Prayers for your quick recovery just take your time. I commend your professionalism and courticy to your employees, first responders and customers. My concern is the liability of allowing the customer to remain so close. You are certainly in control of the jobs logistics, your employees locations but with the chit chat as an additional distraction. The possibility of a cord snapping or widow maker falling, I feel politely and firmly asking him to stay out by his truck while you did your job would've been safer. Never a doubt in my mind you would not be able to get this job done! Thank you for sharing your videos, Bless you.
And on a bright note: NO Overhead power lines, NO rain, NO speeding traffic going by, NOT freezing winter time, NOT night time, in hind sight it was a piece of cake.
I knew that RON would not back down from this job I've seen him do too many big jobs like this & this is what sets him apart from all the rest he is so good at what he does he's the best in this part of the country (THE LOWER MIDWEST REGION) KUDOS & A BIG THUMBS UP RON for the job you did
Ron,I hope the pnuemonia clears up ok for you. That was a bear of a recovery, well done. Ron I used to do some recovery while I was in the Army,we were taught that a down and dirty way to compute pull was as you said double line double pull, and so on.Also taught us that a qiuck way to compute friction loss was to subtract 10% from total pull. Not the most accurate but allowed for quick computation in the field.Worked for us,only had one cable break in about 10 years, and that was because the attachment on the end of the cable was not installed properly.Take care, and God bless.
Just all about seeing the angles in your head and knowing the limits of your equipment. Well done. And we are pulling and praying for you on the health difficulties. Be well, soon!
Wow! That's nearly as captivating as the stolen U-Haul rescue that you and your dad did. Do hope you're feeling better and will soon be your usual self.
Hello Ron It was surprising that the video was closed to comments, but again I watched it with pleasure. Beautiful organization and beautiful work. I wish you success.
The other day I had to pull down a dead tree on my property using a four wheeler. I know not the greatest idea. But figured I might get on UA-cam if I failed 😀 The little four wheeler just didn't have enough umph! Used what I have seen in past videos to "gain mechanical advantage." Thank you not only for making clean and enjoyable videos, but for also teaching us a few tricks in life. Feel better!
I had to pull out a d3 buried to the bellypan in mud tracks floating in the air (bad operator) with a struck Corp rs196k mini dozer grossing 1k lbs over a distance of 200 feet using 200 ft of 1/4 inch cable 2 double pulley snatch blocks 2 single pulley snatch blocks 8 1/2inch 20 ft chains and 6 Holmes trees the little dozer pulled it out with the 6.5hp briggs chugging the whole time.
You took it down whilst I was watching it and had just reached the halfway mark, talk about a cliffhanger...lol. Sorry to hear that you are having health issues. My thoughts and well wishes are with you, take care!
I pray that God will lay his healing hand upon you, and you will have a full recovery of all of your health problems. I have told you in the past that i believe that Danial will end up making you a great hand. Keep up the good work and videos coming our way as I really enjoy them. Thanks.
Ron, This is one of those times a skid steer of your own would be helpful. I suggested before it could help scoop up melted vehicles on the highway, fix turf damage after a recovery job, and this is a situation a small vehicle would help pull a tractor/vehicle out of a spot like this one. It's your money/business, I'm just an "armchair tow guy". Stay Safe
Hello Ron, Greetings from Roy W Nantwich UK. We are really sorry to hear about your illness and hope you get better soon. God bless and stay safe and keep taking the tablets. !! We wondered where you were and missed you.!!!
David, why did the deer go through the woods ? Answer: to go to bed. Ron, as you already know, nothing runs like a deere ! LOL Please Ron, do us all a favor, slow down enough to get rid of that pneumonia!!!! Prays for You !!! P.S. nothing better than watching Good Old Boys havin good clean fun !!! LOL Luv It ! Luv It ! Luv It !
As a fellow brother of the recovery industry, I salute you sir! I always enjoy to see other guys doing things the professional way. I cringe at the I can do it towing. Its unsafe and unprofessional. I have also learned alot from your videos. I'm still green with only a year under my belt. You wont believe I've used it in the field and saved my butt, got the win! Credit to you sir! Thank you keep the videos coming!
And that’s why everyone calls Ron to get the done he always finds a way to adapt and overcome the problem with out sacrificing his morals and holding his self to a higher standard than what you would expect from a typical tow truck operator
I am impressed with your rigging. With all of the videos I have watched of yours, I have never seen a chain break or a cable snap or a pulley break. Keep up the good work.
You "danced with what brung ya" on this one; I am impressed. "Can we get it done with just a lil' Peterbilt 337 and a Century LCG12?" I can say with a small degree of confidence -- YES.
Wow, what of a pull. I know Ron would get “r” done ✅. It seems Dave doing a good job 👍. Ron you guys get it same messes. Hope you get better soon,Prayers for you. Ron does it hurt the straps rubbing the trees ? Wow what a hard pull.
I really enjoy your positive attitude, patience, and explanations of the mechanics involved in recovery. Do you have a video which showcases your entire fleet of recovery vehicles? Keep ‘em coming. May our Lord God protect you and all who work in that dangerous industry.
This was an epic video ! Thanks to Ron and David and the guy in the orange shirt for all the suspense and tips, tricks, angles and jokingly bantering that went on. It is my sincere hope to be as good as Ron and the boys once this virus thing ends. I want to get into towing because I think you need an out of the box mindset when towing but safety is paramount.
Proof positive that knowledge and experience can overcome a lot. Yah, a bigger rig would have been nice, but in the end, you made it work (and did so safely). Nice job. Reminds me of getting that van out with the ATV a few years ago.
Don't worry about us Ron, just get yourself healthy! As long as you had enough rigging equipment on board, there was never a doubt in my mind that good ol 15 could get the job done. I'm very familiar with double, triple and quad line pulls with my winches. As always, be safe and God bless!
Hello Ron, an idea came to mind for when you’re pulling chain and don’t want it to “snap” through the “D” rings. Ships use them for their anchor chains, I believe it’s called a chain wheel...or something similar. That would have helped here.... still a great video in how to use what you got though.
Yes, I know they too, they look like this (sorry, I didn't find the english name for them): www.kramp.com/shop-ch/de/p/kettenumlenkrolle-11x31-boh.25--NW11316000
Wow that was just amazing!! I have seen you take on jobs that other companies turned down because they saw it to be undoable!! You go with a truck that was not meant to handle that type of lode from that distance and you made it look easy!! If I were the winch company I would give you a bigger winch for that truck just to see what could be done!! Great job as always to you and your crew!!
👍🏻great job Ron! I am glad you were able drag it out of the woods without needing to get another wrecker or/even another heavy equipment. The peterbilt rollback did great.
Get well Ron , keep up the good work and thank you for the videos. You should teach a class in mechanical engineering or maybe just find a link to some one who teaches practical in the field engineering. Peace be.
Hey Bro. Ron! @53:41 brings to mind that condition for my brother. He is 6 years my elder (and my sister, his twin). My sister and I have NO reaction to the Rhus poisons, but, my brother can watch an ad for brush killer with a picture of the poison Ivy & come down with a case of it!! LOL! Ken
Just thought of this. What you do would make a great video game. Trying to figure out the geometry and physics of how to move something. Now that is a challenge.
Hello Ron . God speed to a complete recovery .I am very supcetable to get pneumonia an I hope you can get better quickly .Take care ,be safe ,See Ya .👍👍😊😊✌
Alex is watching it with me. He tried watching the other when it was deleted. Alex was trying to say where is the tator when he saw the Deere in the woods. He is starting to talk a little. Couple Holmes trees and a redirect.

Finally a helper for Ron that doesn’t just stand around and watch Ron work.
You have immense patience. Your client would have had me pulling my hair out, but you handled him with great tact and patience. You deserve a lot of credit.
Great example of a man knowing all aspects of his job and his equipment

You have an uncanny knack of making hard jobs look simple Ron .
Ron you are a real professional team and you are always calm nothing seems to phase you and its how you remain hopeful anf always find a way
I’ve been watching David since he started going with you. Appears he is a fast learner, I see doing things that need to be done without you telling him what to do. I think you found yourself a good employee.
Sorry to hear your under the weather. Take care & get well soon!!
Only Ron can do it, I have a lot of faith in you, you would be the only company I would call in the first place

What a great job for David to get experience from thankfully he has a good and patience teacher
Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well, I pray you heal quickly. Again, thank you for the longer video and showing how you solved the situation.
I pray for you to feel better. Please take care of yourself. We need you so much
Very good job. AS a roll
back driver from St Louie MO, I learned a lot from this video. Thank you. Prayers that you get well soon,.
Thanks 👍I appreciate your kind comments neighbor. Stay safe in your area. Thank you for watching and God bless.
@@RonPratt you're welcome
Thank you again for a video. I have to say that between you, David, your son-in-law and that older man, you have one great team.
Ron works and plays at the same time.
It would be fun to visit and go with him to observe.
i do believe this was one of the most labor intensive loads that truck has seen to date....
... And the winch working close to being MAXED out. Those kinetic energy straps worked a treat too.
Caren Barnet that winch isn’t overworked until the brass worm gear strips.

Nice one, Ron!

Other Tow Company: Nah, we can't do it..
Ron: Hold my sweet tea...
Not only hold my sweet tea, but we’ll do it with a rollback... and do it in style!!! Talking about the little wrecker that not only could, but did!!!
Anthony Ray very true!
Ron always struck me as an "Arnold Palmer" kind of guy... LOL
and this is why he is so sought after.
@@AWRay1300 And someone is going to point that company to this video... and teach them how the big boys do it...

Yes indeed, looking at it now and what could have been, it was a walk in the woods, be it a very slow walk. LOL
and NO slope, just soft, dead flat ground! a super winching job. :)
I don't think the machinery operators tried hard enough, they just relied on distance and a couple of trees on the direct line.

WOW!!!! KUDOS to you for not giving up. That looked like a frustrating job at times but your persistance got the job done!
I find it hilarious that this kept me entertained, more than some Hollywood block buster movies. Considered that the run time is 120.
And longer than a lot of movies!
It is general practice to back off a shackle 1/4 turn to keep them from locking up like it did in this video.
For him too, but the new guy needs to be taught that lesson
Proof positive that knowledge and experience can overcome a lot. Yah, a bigger rig would have been nice, but in the end, you made it work (and did so safely). Nice job. Reminds me of getting that van out with the ATV a few years ago.
Ron, to the other tow company that turned this job down, "Well that's how you do that."
He was probably like "here's the YT link, learn you some things " 😂😂😂
@@jonarmedpiandsecurityoffic9051 ,lol
A good addition, if he has the room to store it.
@@undeflabs in English a "Kettenumlenkrolle " is called a chain pulley.
Slow and steady gets the job done and safely too. Well recovered
Bigger winch? What do you expect him to move? The Tator won't fit on the bed.
You haven't watched the parade with Tator on the extended roll back, have you?
Another amazing job done by you and david
It took a while but you are the best Ron
David and the customer backing up simultaneously was hilarious!
Peace be.
Mechanical advantage and opposing thumbs is what separates us from the animals. Nice pulling
It looked like it was about as fun unloading it at the end.
Drag it off with the rotator when at the shop or another piece of hardware
As always you make it work with what you have and you did it that's why I love your video's and I hope you are getting better. God bless you all Bob
Hey Bro.
He should have removed the planetaries while he was waiting for you to get there.
Hello Ron . God speed to a complete recovery .I am very supcetable to get pneumonia an I hope you can get better quickly .Take care ,be safe ,See Ya .👍👍😊😊✌
At 1:02:12 Ron says "Oh, oh there's a stump there!" The other guys says "It's a rock." I thought Ron was going to say "That's so much better!" LOL
Praying for better health. Great job on this retrieval
Alex is watching it with me. He tried watching the other when it was deleted. Alex was trying to say where is the tator when he saw the Deere in the woods. He is starting to talk a little.
Couple Holmes trees and a redirect.
Thanks Ron that was a long hard job crazy job hope you get feeling better soon God bless
