I like the fact that deadly alliance had the info on the character and their type of fighting style, and personally i loved his flaming kick in the deadly alliance just great
Number 1 has to be the one from MKX. The execution gives it a bit more "realism", if that makes any sense. The initial hit to stun and coming in with the other leg to launch. It's also a decently quick move that can catch even experienced players ( Myself including ) off-guard when used as a wakeup attack, specially ones where you try to meaty them and expect them to respect it but they BM and just switch sides, putting you in the corner, and enforcing their own offense after they comboed you. Close second is the string version from MK9, it was pretty much useless outside of the first 2 hits, hit if you knew you could bag the round after a Kunai restand, yeah, worth a shot to rub it in for them. Third just has to be MK11, while not the favorite of many ( Outside of those with a """progressive""" point of view despite sharing unwanted Injustice mechanics ) the MK11 version is at least more believable despite him being a literal hell specter ... or at least was, but i digress. That one was awesome to use if you perfectly baited a late breakaway and gosh, it's so satisfying to break armor with it and hear people cry over the mic. "HURR DURR! Scorpion easy character, you're trash." yeah ... but I'm trash that won and you're a sore losing crybaby. Lol
Deadly Alliance: Looking back on it, seeing the first version of the move being with both legs and in Deadly Alliance feels a bit surreal. Was this some sort of callback to the '95 movie? Anyway, I love the fire ring aesthetic it has, but the combination of the yell and the sound effect of the kick and the fire together just sound silly. It looks great, it sounds bad. Deception: The 3D era was for the most part very consistent with a character's moveset. Here is a case of them changing a character's move, and in my opinion it's a change for the better. The fire effect is unfortunately not as good. Now it feels like a bunch of twinkling flames when performing the kick and it is way less awesome than the fire-ring. But the sound? Oh, the sound. The combination of the fire and kick sound effects with the yell is so much better now and it actually sounds like a fast and mighty fire attack. Trust me, this sound difference changes the move so much for the better. Shaolin Monks: What is this? No, seriously, what is this? The camera is 10 quentillion light years away and in place of what was supposed to be flames on Scorpion's feet I see 2 little orange shoes that leave no trace of fire behind! WTF?!? Also, there is something that feels incredibly unimpressive about performing this move without launching yourself and the opponent off the ground. Doing it already mid-air doesn't feel the same. Add to that the move's already limited usage and the fact that there is already the much more impressive Mid-Air Judo Throw, yeah, this move is not good. Hey, it can at least potentially a bit of an action-hero feel if you accomplish it. Armageddon: Same as Deception. That sound is music in my ears and thus far the sound of victory. MK9: The first one-legged backlfip. I don't really have a preference between one leg or two legs. What I can for sure say is that this move is too freaking fast! It moves way too fast to appreciated and all I see is a blur of Scorpion's leg with an OK fire ring. Injustice: Gods Among Us: For starters, the kick is fast enough to be considered fast and slow enough to be seen, so thus far an improvement. However, once it hits the opponent, it stops for like half a second. It obviously is meant to emphasise force of impact, which makes sense, since it is a superhero fighting game and a lot of superhero fight scenes emphasise power and impact. Unfortunately, this does not exactly translate well in a move that emphasises unstoppable speed. There is a bit of a pacing issue; the super fast move begins, stops mid-way and then just presumes normally. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's noticeable. What is even more noticeable s the undrwhelming fire effect. What is it with fire animation being animated as less as possible in this game? I'm not asking to be on par with Deadly Alliance's (no move in this comment is), but jeez. MKX: We have 3 ones. The first...is beautiful. It's inclusion as a combo breaker is ingenious, as it is fitting for a close range attack that focuses on speed and it does feel like a move an actual human would use to escape an asswhooping. Plus, the placement of this move negates any inherent limitations that could hinder its usage and the overall gameplay experience, such as trouble at leading at a truly impressove Brutality or limited combo potential. The little half a second of anticipation before the move allows the move to feel more satisfying. Also, this move requires some skill to be done, so I can imagine some level of satisfaction after successfully performing it. This move is brilliant, but I love... Not the second one, although the second one is great too. Pretty much what I said about the first one applies here. Cool, efficient, well-placed, satisfying. It does requires some pretty specific circumstances to be useful, but it's also an axe kick. Axe kicks are cool. Especially the mid-air ones. The third one...this. This is the one I love. It manages to combine both the 2 previous moves without reducing their role in the gameplay all the while providing its own awesome experience. With one word: teleport. This one mechanic gives the moves its own gimmick and strategy potential, while also allowing the moves that consist it to still stand out on their own. This move allows allows for sneak attacks and good amount of damage, all the while you get to escape from being cornered by a strong opponent or an opponent good at long range, and the move's animation reflects that kind of speed and strength, as you charge at your opponent from behind with an axe kick (which by the way is a good usage of a non-mid-air axe kick) and follows it up with a backflip that makes the opponent lose their balance (showing the backflip's power), giving yourself a chance to come up with a strategy. Continue the assault? Keep the opponent at a distance? Spam the move? There are lots of possibilities. And it all is animated fast, furiously and fluidly. Fast enough to be efficient and slow enough to be cool and appreciated. And in a way, the fact that the opponent gets thrown far away prevents the move from being too OP. These 3 moves not only manage to offer something different each to the gameplay, but they also manage to still receive the center of attention, weirdly anough thanks to MKX's darker lighting and aesthetic, since this draws more attention to the fire effect on them, thus to the center of attention, a.k.a. the move itself, thus turning what would normally be a kinda underwhelming fire animation to a true spectacle. In a way, from a meta standpoint, the third move manages to be a nice transitional moment in the history of this move. From the original double backflip, to an ordinary backflip, to a backflip and an axekick in the same game, and finally to... MK11:...the MK11 axe kick. It's alright. Something about it being just a normal attack on the ground makes it feel less grand and cool and more average and impractical. But hey, axe kicks are still cool and it's nice that the move didn't try to shove itself into a Brutality.
Well, I just so happened to have released a comment under this very video where I give my overall thoughts on all versions of this move. You can give it a read.

Scorpion for real teleporting to all his battles in MKX😂😂😂
I’ll never get the deadly alliance sound out of my head lol “ALLEYOOP!”
Next time , I want 'em to make a brutality outta this 🔥🚶🏻♀️🤝🏻
There is. Well not the kick version. If you end the round with EX air teleport on a standing opponent in MKX, you get a brutality.

You only get the flip on the last hit of a combo if I remember correctly it's Square Triangle circle
