Our biggest obstacle as an emerging non-profit organization is accessing adequate resources and financial support to set the groundwork for our mission of supporting BIPOC designers, makers, brands, and fashion professionals in the heart of Texas. Congrats to all the winners. The biggest obstacle I face in my business, Black Belt Lawncare Services, LLC, is finding good people willing to work and learn. Lawncare is a tough, physical job, that exposes you to the harshness of the elements and various forms of wildlife. Finding people willing to stick with me and that truly want to learn and grow in this business has been my biggest challenge.

The most challenge obstacle I've faced is navigating the financial constraints that have hindered the expansion of my esthetician business and acquiring new clients. While I am passionate about providing top-notch skincare services and fostering meaningful connections with my clients, limited resources have posed significant barriers to realizing my full potential. Once I have the resources to cover my LLC state fees, that will open up my access to business loans & credit and make a HUGE difference! Our biggest obstacle is acquiring funding to acquire additional employees and contractors to assist with the demand of our services, as well as the ability gift businesses the ability to use our services for a portion of time without them having to worry about how they'll pay, while my business maintains the ability to pay my employees and contractors for those services.
Cash flow and working capital are our toughest obstacles as a food business. We are always looking for skip grants and other outside forms of funding as credit isn't super good at this point. Love skip and the instant grants and all the other services so much I applied to be an affiliate!

Advertising as a Non-profit 501c3 Organization is one of the issues but have started different and new ways to help and of course funding. Wish there was more Non-profit Grants on Skip. I check every day! I fill out everything that we qualify for.

My biggest challenge when operating my business is scaling at the moment. I've been fortunate enough to make my mark in the fashion photography space but now I've hit a bit of ceiling. My plan to scale is to obtain a physical studio space that can be used for my personal projects as well for the community of creatives in Los Angeles. Currently it's in my garage, which isn't insulated or temperature controlled.
