      ever put a CD in a microwave super awesome effects, smells a little funny though. I think there is a thing called taking safety and concern a little to far, drink out of puddles, pick it up off the floor and eat it and there would be less sickly kids in mho. Oh and we are not eating out of it so what does it really matter :)

    • @johnpatz8395
      @johnpatz8395 7 років тому

      Seeing how dirty the outside of the microwave was had me concerned, but when I saw the inside was spotless I knew it wasn't an issue.
      Some things need to be spotless, some don't and workshops are on the don't list. I used to work for a company that made ready to assemble wooden entertainment centers, desks and similar things. It was weird, if they were having a group of investors in they would shutdown for shop at least half and hour before they were coming and have up clean up every piece of sawdust and such, and my response was always "if I was looking to invest in a carpentry shop and every time I showed up the floor had no sawdust on it I wouldn't go with them as I would want workers who were up to their knees in sawdust as they were to busy working to stop to clean up."

    A flea and a fly in a flue

    so what could they do?
    Said the fly: let up flee!
    Said the flea: let us fly!
    So they flew thru a flaw in the flue.

    Hey Alec,
    I’m relatively new to the channel. Been here a couple months and I like everything that I’ve seen so far. But I have to say, this video disappointed me.
    I realize that it’s an older vid and you might not even see this comment. But, you’ve probably guessed it by now, it was your reaction to the Pride flag that disturbed me. I’m not offended. To each their own. But, I have to say that I lost a little bit of respect for you. You’ve always seemed like a very positive and supportive person. I just didn’t expect that from you. I have great admiration for all that you’ve accomplished in your young life, and you are an excellent craftsman. I’m not going to unsubscribe or anything. Just a little disappointed, is all.
    As I said, I realize that this is an older video. Hopefully you’ve evolved a little bit since then.
    Keep doing great work and I’ll keep watching. You’re always striving to be better in your work. Hopefully you can learn to be better in this area too.

    I love watching your videos, as it reminds me a lot of my dad who was a Blacksmith in Liverpool before bringing all the family to Australia in in 69. He took up work with the Australian Army and was their last Blacksmith. I remember him making custom knives for the SAS out of Landrover springs. Both me and my brother spent time with him in the forge and he told us both not to work in the forge and get easier jobs ( Fitter & Turner and a Cabinetmaker). He has been gone 11 years now and I turn 50 this year and am hoping to set up a forge and see where it leads. Keep the videos coming.

    1. WAY more people preemptively complaining about possible SJW outrage than any actual outrage from SJWs
    2. Ask yourself, and for that matter, ask Alec, "Why was the segment on the Gay Pride flag included in the video at all?"
    Who was it that dragged social politics and gender issues into a blacksmithing video? Was it the person that sent the flag or the person that made a joke out of the flag, shot edited and uploaded the video?

    • @xw6968
      @xw6968 7 років тому +2

      Antstar12 accepting sure but being offended no. People that do not understand the meaning of a flag like the gay flag, do not understand others who fight for being excepted who they are. And thats not ok.

    • @Antstar12
      @Antstar12 7 років тому +4

    This is not an offended thing just a practical observation, having opened up a mig welder yesterday to check the phase order of the power cord. I found that there were lovely particals of iron dust growing on all the the serfaces that become magnetised during operation. Things were getting near to shorting out. Do you take the time to give you kit a quick blast out with an air line to clear crud out and save on breakdowns?
    Note to anyone reading this it is better to ask someone who is experienced with working on equipment with dangerous voltages present inside with the covers off, as poking around when you are unaware of the hazards with just one mistake it can easily be your last.
    Now your microwave will have a couple of big magnets in it that will be happy filling up with mattalic particals. Microwaves even when they are unplugged have a rather unfriendly capacitor inside that can be still charged up to a couple of thousand volts, touching it and it's connected wiring can be a total killer when it bites back.

    I made my forge out of a turkey fryer and some fire bricks from lowes. The bricks fit perfectly on top of the fryer stand. Stacked them 2 high and two to cover the hole. Cut a slot in one to slide my steel in and out. It gets pretty hot.

    Its a shame people are going to judge just by the way you cook your food. Love the way you took it in a who cares what some people think. Keep up the great videos and keep on hammering.

    You should sweep the dust on floor onto the water that falls through, it should soak up all of that water, same goes for oil spillages.
    Like so he can see.

    You should take the metal powder from the hammers and make some canister Damascus or something with it

    You need too look into a water cooling block on the backside of your belt sander, that way the belt glue will not get too hot and come apart and your belts will last longer and you can push them a little harder. You tend to find the coolers in really high end machines but you can also retrofit one to yours.
