Bread, butter and hot gateaux piments is yum. The good thing in Mauritius when you're hungry and on a low budget, a couple pair of dhal puri will keep the stomach full. Miss all these nice food. Can't wait to travel back.
Street food in grand bay will be ofcourse more expensive, being a touristic place u see. Just a few rupees more, the sellers do need registration and licenses from the Beach Authorities. The onion Badjias were cheaper than in port louis and im sure i never got such a long garlic bread anywhere in mauritius! But still so far u didn't get scam like i was in other countries i visited. İm very much impressed n proud of the sellers! 👍
The alouda lady said "la mousse" which means jelly. I can smell the briyani from here! With gateau piment, try 3 or 4 in a crunchy buttered bread roll. :-) Once more my mouth waters and I have just ordered a goat haleem and beef briyani. Have 50 minutes to pick up before covid curfew time.
Mauritian street food is excellent. Try Pineapple with chilies, olives with chillies, badjia, gateau arouilles, tekwa. Rot, Goolab Jamun, nankatai, jalebi as sweets Alouda drink
Hi, I am planning to go to Mauritius and it is my first time. Which area would you recommend. I would like to go to a place close to local amenities. Thank you
I like this "Budget" week ! keep on going ... this remember me all those Asian countries where I've been, Thailand is probably the leader when it comes to street food. Do they have something more fishy ?
Being not in the country right now, this kinda makes me sad and freaking hungry at the same time. Gateaux piment, baja, Halim, briiiyaaaaniiiii or kebab in deforges street in Port Louis.. Or alouda pillay in Central Market in Port Louis. Sigh !
MOMO-BOLTON-KENTON SAY THE BEST PLACES TO BEE IS WITH RYAN AND RIKKI....THEY know all goods places in the island!!!!the foods is so cheaps in maurituis island.....the vlogg making by ryan and rikki is the same like in TRINIDAD-TOBAGGO island same foods!!!!MARKET PLACES and street foods..have alook on you- tube....🤤🤤🤤
