      I think this definitely needs to be talked about more because the unfortunate thing is you dont understand how much you DONT know yourself until your in a position where you are no longer the focus. Its a hard pill to swallow and I think this is one of the prime things that leads to many of the problems/insecurities we face as mothers.

    I think that even when a single mom has a support system she really is still very much alone. I have 2 kids, boys, and my parents help me out a lot but when I make a decision about my kids that I feel is right I still get so much grief over it.

      Almost two years later from recording this and I agree! It’s so easy to feel like you have the weight on the works in your shoulders and the only thing I have found that helps is realizing how much God will help if I let him. It so easier said than done but when it really resonates with you the mental stress that it’s lifted off is significant . For the part about your parents, I’m going to dedicate an entire video responding to it 🥰❤️. It will be released between no later than the second week of November.

    I tend to be an overgiver, giving so much that’s it’s detrimental to my own well being because I never get anything in return and that tears me down from the inside out. I stopped caring about myself, stopped pouring into myself and let myself go. My self esteem plummeted because the husbands that came into my life, and then eventually an old puppy love from high school, and they tried to take everything I had left. They drained me. God had to tell me that I needed to be single and be still. I was throwing pearls among swine and that’s not of God. (And that’s a bible verse guys) I have to be still for the first time in my life and just rest in him, knowing that my child and I will be provided for and well taken care of with or without a man around. My strength comes from the most high and I am unstoppable. I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me

      So sorry for the late reply Ive been on somewhat of a hiatus. First and foremost I would like to thank you for sharing a part of your journey with me; I do not take that vulnerability for granted! But YES to everything you said! I am also walking in a season where I have finally said ok God, I am so tired of getting in my own way and mostly yours. YOU are my protector, you are my provider not a man. I want to lean on you and only you. And you know what, my life has done a 180 and I just so excited to see how He will use me in the near future.

    That's the biggest statement that I'm adjusting to which is the routine and focus for one day might not work for the very next day. At some point that constant change will create a gateway to being stuck in survival mode,... so it is best to find a routine dedicated to a short term goal that allows for some stability - that'll reduce stress and open up for better opportunities of growth, peace and purpose.

    • @ChatelaMonae
      @ChatelaMonae  3 роки тому

      I definitely agree about slipping into survival mode and as negative a connotation it may have, sometimes that exactly what you have to do. I found myself in that season a few times but I think that you just have to remember thats all it is, a season. Typically even with one small change your world can shift drastically. But when you look at the big picture, putting God front and center is what changes things in a more concrete way (aka finally feeling stable). At least that has been the case for me and something will certainly be talking more about.

It's so easy to become overwhelmed and just get swooped away by everyday life...which in turn makes a perfect storm for wanting companionship to lighten the load emotionally, mentally, financially etc. Lately I have been walking through a season where I have decided to put God front and center of all of those desires...and I can tell you my life has most certainly changed.

    Chatela, I listened to everything you have said thoroughly and through the understanding The LORD has given me, from a "so called" single mother to another you are dropping jewels my dear. I say "so called" single mother because when The LORD is walking with you and guiding you, you are never truly single or alone. Yes it can be very challenging to the flesh at times, but its building up your Spirit, it's Building up your character; it goes alone with that saying, " whatever doesn't kill you make you stronger. When I found out I was pregnant with my now 8 year old son, I knew from the very beginning I would be a "single mom". I didn't leave room for pity party or blame game. I did what was necessary for the well-being of my child. I moved to a totally different state and started over from scratch with Faith and only $200.00 to my name. I went to a shelter for woman and children, I gave 100% and Grind by The LORDS mercy ,I climbed to the top of what looked like a Terrible situation. My son has never went without anything. I nevered relyed on other's especially a man who didnt truly know what love was, because you have to Truly Know The Lord to even Know what true love really is all about. So I say to whomever reading this, Focus on your children, love them be patient, kind,, long-suffer them, put in the quality time. They will love you for it, most importantly TRUST IN THE LORD HE WILL SEE YOU THROUGH!!!

      I love you! Thank you for so much transparency and I want to sincerely say that I honor you! I am proud of you and I agree with everything you said! At the time I made this video I didn’t have the same relationship with God as I do now. This last year he has completely renewed me in a way I never expected. When you talk about that dependence on God I couldn’t agree more. I’ve actually been thinking about a video on speaking about just that…as a single mother your relationship with God has to become your number one priority. And as you started no you are not alone. That’s something I have had to repent about, always saying how I had to do “everything alone”. If that ever slips out of my mouth these days I quickly correct myself because there’s no way I can truly say I’m alone anymore. Thank you for YOUR jewels mama and thank you for watching, ☺️🥰

    God has definitely been doing great things in my life recently. I used to waddle in my sorrow and pain as a struggling single mother but I'm on a come up and God has been working. I'm not living in fear and depression anymore. I was hurt and bitter for so long for being a single mother. I really thank God for being the head of my life. I take responsibility for my choices and now I'm moving ahead. No more sitting around being a victim. I'm turning my pain into an empire and inspiring myself. This video just speaks everything I've been through.

    Chatela, Bravo Bravo & a million Bravo to you sweetie. I love the part that you said don't be so desperate to love and end up loving the wrong person that will hurt you. I'm a victim of it when I spent 5 years with a Narcissist. One morning I woke and said to myself I have a pretty angel that I need to race and I need to teach her alot of goodies. That's how I left him. Loving myself, my kid and focusing on my creator is the best thing ever.

    We’re witnessing only a glimpse of this woman’s inner strength right here. Incredible. Every word was so true and empowering. 100% on the bit about journaling. I learned to journal at a young age. I’ve never really had friends or a support group that weren’t toxic. I’ve found that being alone is best while I work on learning to love myself. I’ve always thrived in my independence but being alone can hurt sometimes so that’s why I learned to write. It’s one of my many strengths and a great way to check in with myself, acknowledge my own emotions, remember my strengths, and validate my feelings. As a single mother, I couldn’t agree more. I won’t continue the trauma that’s been cycling throughout so many generations. I WILL model a mother who loves herself, who allows herself grace to heal, who shows up in her fullest authenticity. I will raise a son who loves himself, feels worthy and is capable of making healthy emotional choices and physically healthy choices. I will be a mother who learns to love her body, and knows her worth. Thank you for being a soft hearted and strong minded woman with a fierce spirit, ready and willing to make the most of your past decisions. This full circle is inspiring and empowering for others
