I can't wait to try one out!
Thank you, you will not be disappointed! //Henrik GL
I'm very interessted in uls 2.0 #8. Is it suitable for pike too? I'm searching for a rod, which covers many styles of heavier fly fishing
Hi! The ULS 11´#8 can of course be used to cast pike flies, but it is not the best option. With the lenght of 11´ it is quite heavy to cast single hand, and when you cast it as a double hand rod you can not double haul, which is an important part of throwing big windresisant flies. As a backup it may work, but you will be better of with a LPX Predator 9´ #8. //Henrik GL
Are you going to upgrade the ULS multi tip for this rod? Great line, just a bit memory prone.
Hi! Yes, we are working on an upgrade on the ULS line concept. //Henrik GL
@@Guidelineflyfish Great Henrik. It's a brilliant line, just needs a softer, more memory free coating for UK waters. Don't change the taper!
Спасибо.С уважением Григорий.
You are welcome Greg!
How the rod works with a short skagit head like the OPST head. I have a Redington Dually Switch 3wt but would like to try the ULS 5wt for trout.
Hi! Tellis here, product developer at Guideline. These rods will work great with short heads, and they where developed and tested together with our ULS shooting heads + Multi tip and our range of Compact heads. Considering that our lines I just mentioned has total head lengths around 20-25 feet (between 6-7,5 meters), short skagit heads will work great together with these rods :) The 5wt is my personal favorite for "trout spey" and has given me many great memories during the development.
Thanks Tellis for feedback! // Henrik GL
I have the older ULS model, #8. Using the bullett 2.0 line in #9. Will the bullett #9 work fine with the #8-rod ?
Hi Viktor! The new ULS 2.0 switch rod is rated 18-22 g / 278-340 grains, and the Bullet WF9 has a head weight of 20 grams, so it will be a sweet combination. // Henrik GL
Does it use the same line weight with single hand rod?
Usually, the choices of line and weight are quite personal. You can use the same line when employing the ULS2.0 as a single-hand rod or with two hands, for overhead or underhand casting. However, if you primarily use it for overhead casting as a single hand (SH), we recommend opting for a slightly lighter weight within the referenced weight range for each model. If you'll be predominantly fishing using waterborne spey casting techniques, it's advisable to select a slightly heavier line with a weight distribution suited to those casting methods.
I tried their chromer switch rod and its monnnney and light in hand
Great to hear Jerry! // Henrik GL
