Last line gives me chills every time. Its amazing how much of an influence his mother was on him

His mother was the reason he battled so heavily with God and christianity. Which is why most people won't revisit the song, since he is directing this song to the christian God asking all these questions and how someone could let these bad things happen and how he could let his own mother suffer for so long, because she was so devoted to her God. It's really deep and thought provoking. Even if you believe in a God or no God at all, you can feel the pain that weighs on him.

Listen to "u" by Kendrick Lamar, it's sort of like the same. He's yelling at himself for being a "fuck up" and talks about how he's suicidal, and what's caused him to be.
Nicholas Tucker been listening to kendrick lamar before tech, but yeah. that song still has a different feel. in this song tech is questioning the world and life in general, and in u kendrick is more questioning himself and his life and his fame in particular.

49-year-old middle-class woman here. I love heavy metal and acoustic guitar. My son played this for me, and I thought...it's okay. Listened to it a couple more times. My reaction now is goosebumps....every time I listen to it. Tears and goosebumps. Not just for the message, but for the musicality of it. The contrast of the slow and powerful background music with the sudden fast lyrics, then contrasted with the slow and belted lyrics, the constant build up....the scream at the end coming from a place of real grief. I don't know how ANYONE could not be moved listening to this. I LOVE this. It hurts me, as it should.
