I want to thank you for your help. This was very useful for me. I had my speaker wire hooked up incorrectly to me receiver and to my speaker. That's for the tip. "The grey strip on your wire is negative".
Wow! You are videoing this during an earthquake! Your earthquake is so bad that my eyes were still shaking one hour later! Make sure that your house doesn't fall down on you.
@@thetechdude8333 I really hope you do not have Parkinson's disease... this is the most shaky video I have ever seen. Otherwise, it is interesting and helpful. Thank you!
I have both a SA-EX700 and SA-EX900. After a year my 700 started making static noises which would get louder and louder, ending with a loud pop. At first it seemed more common when first powering up, like after a few minutes, and then only did it occasionally, but then after a month or two it did it much more. From what videos Ive found on other amps I think it's a transistor. I just need to isolate each one at a time. For the 900 however, I bought it for $50 because it displays OVERLOAD on start-up. It actually displays the normal radio page for a second or two, then switches to overload. The service manual does indeed point to fan issues at the beginning of the manual on page 7 & 8. However, also important to note is that when I fired it up for the very first time, (and I'd taken the cover off first), it almost instantly blew one of the resistors on the main bottom board, specifically R650 which can be seen on page 28 about midway down just right of middle. It's a 68ohm .25w resistor. I'm not terribly good with reading schematics so if you could take a look and tell me any guesses or theory you may have I'd greatly appreciate it. Lastly, do the fans always come on and stay on when the amp is powered? Because with both of mine, 700 & 900 the fan is not on and cannot recall ever checking it when my 700 was working.
Hi! I have a SA-EX700 and have the same problem. "OVERLOAD SWITCH OFF POWER".. i don't know what to do. Its an older receiver (+20 years) and there is no maintenance here in Brazil.
Hi! i have the same model, in the past it had the overload problem, wich randomly dissappeaared a year ago. Right now it stopped working giving sound, without any symptom. It turns on, i can switch inputs, but nothing comes out. Its in a daily use. What the heck can i do?
Hi. I'd take a look at the status of the power for the relays. Can't really remember what volts they should have but should be on the relays. If that doesn't work, you can check the status of the capacitors. If that doesn't work, it may unfortunately be the amp chip. Google the model numbers on the amp chip and see if you can find a pinout that you can test. You'll have to come back if none of it works.
Matsushita's class H hybrid modules don't have temperature protection on them and that fan is controlled by a NTC thermistor. Change the fan placement to blow directly on the fens without being blocked off like it is in this video and you will find that this thing will push 4 ohm speakers with ease. Also that module is a 120 watt per channel package.
Does the same apply for a JVC brand? Mine stopped sound, and I cleaned all the speaker connections and got it to work again, then got hot and said overload?
I bought a used Technics SA-EX320 last year and it worked great until last week when I turned it on and got the OVERLOAD display after it had been working great for a year. I unplugged it from the wall and walked away in disgust not wanting to deal with it. After it being unplugged for several days I plugged it back in today and much to my amazement it's been working perfectly. I'm grateful but suspicious that working perfectly may not be a lasting thing. Why did unplugging it and allowing to to sit make it work okay again?
Never had a overload issue with my SA-EX110. The thing can got blistering hot and never shuts off. Only time I have ever seen overload pop up is when I actually over loaded it.

10 years lol, I have this since the mid 90's. Super amp. 👌
Thank you for making this video 😊

Im sorry. I don't have a tripod for my camera and am pretty shaky by me. Once I can afford it, I'll buy a tripod.

Thanks, I will try this project this weekend. i keep getting over load and i have let it set and turned on but it 's still overlaoding.

I HAVE AMBLIFIER TECHNIKS SA-AX7. WITHOUT CONNECTION SPEAKERS WHEN OPEN IT WRITES OVERLOAD ! PLEASE HELP !
If that cooling fan dont work..it will kick the overload everytime. The fan goes faster the higher the volume is set...
It may work with 8W speaker, but who cares, it should work with 4x100W + subwoofer
SORRY ! I DID NOT UNDERSTAND ! WHAT PROBLEM HAD?
I get seasickness
Just get to the solution

Horrible fan placement by the way.
It’s like that by default on the amplifier.
