You planning to live in USA or move to Canada after you get married? I met my American husband years ago and he moved to Toronto when we got married 20 years ago!!! Wow can’t believe how time flies by. I introduced him to cottage life and he never looked back at Manhattan. Even when we visit, he can’t take the noise and crowds. Guess that also comes with age 😂. Congratulations. You are very lucky to have Tara as a best friend.

Congratulations again! As the daughter of a jeweller i would advise putting something soft like a tissue or pretty fabric to place the ring on in the jewellery box ( even like a cute glasses cleaning cloth) to stop it from moving around and getting scratched !

more on ring care because I love jewellery and hate to see people miss out on the best for their ering! take your ring off for showering, working out, lifting heavy things, putting lotion or any creams on, when doing laundry, or gardening! these things can damage your ring, or make it dull from being dirty or covered in the oils from lotions. also make sure to clean your ring so it stays sparkly! leave it to soak in warm soapy water for a few min, and you can also use a super soft tooth brush to get grime off it. also dry it with a paper towel because it helps with water spots if you just let it air dry. also get it serviced by your jeweller! they can clean it for you and inspect your prongs every 6 months to make sure your diamond stays secure and never gets lost!

As someone who used to work in jewelry: Yes! Please do not sleep in your jewelry I've had people end up with nasty cuts because of hitting themselves in their sleep. Also you can lose the stone if it's loose and my personal favorite: sometimes our hands swell really badly. I didn't have the stomach to cut rings off people but I have seen some horrifying things. Everyone comments "oh it's never happened to me" and I'd love it to happen to no one but weird things happen and I have some peoples hands burned into my mind now. And don't buy expensive cleaners. A cup of hot water and a teaspoon of windex will keep a diamond and the gold really shiny!! You can also just take it to a jeweler but most of the cleaners have the same ingredients as Windex or Mr. Clean and half the time we use those if they're cheaper.
