    Very nice. Hate that all machines nowadays have ad blue though. It's run reliability away from most brands

      Yeah we should just fuck the earth with as much dirty diesel engines as we can.

      @@wik667 the engines now run way cleaner even without def. But its a law now and you got to love all those plastic jugs they ship it in. But dont worry about fires and volcanoes though.

    This is amazing, did you manage to fix the problem of farmers not being able to fix their *OWN* machines, or are you still holding them hostage?

    • @braedenc5436
      @braedenc5436 4 роки тому +4

      The thing is you need to be trained to fix these machines it’s pretty complicated stuff that not just anyone can jump into. Source: I work on these

      @@braedenc5436 so do I, -BECAUSE the trained folk have scarpered OR still don't understand BASIC Mechanics and what Precision chopping forage is all about. Why overcomplicate a set of revolving shears?

    • @normaal4663
      @normaal4663 3 роки тому

      @@braedenc5436 Well , that complicated part might be true to some degree but the biggest problem nowadays is not it being complicated mechanically , it's being MADE complicated electronically which means that when a sensor fails you need a laptop and software to determine which sensor has failed and calibrate the new sensor ( some , not all but you know what i mean if you work on them )
      The hostage situation we, the handy farmers run in to is that this is not free to use or even obtain.
      So when i change the oil of my Deutz-Fahr i have to go to the shop with it to let them reset the service interval which i found ridiculous.
      Most farmers who are handy just want to be able to reset things like this and being able to read faultcodes so they know where to solve a problem.

    • @braedenc5436
      @braedenc5436 3 роки тому

      Yes but the complicated electronics is the price you pay for the technology advancements that we see with a lot of the new Ag equipment and it’s hard for the farmer (no disrespect to them as I am one as well as a tech) to diagnose and work on these things, however I agree with you on the point that it is taken to far but that is not a problem with just John Deere it’s a problem industry wide including automotive, people like to rag on Deere for it when they aren’t the only ones on that ship, the right to repair bill almost went through until Apple realized this affected their products as well and then the Apple lawyers stepped in and that was that.

    Right angle gearbox takes more energy than a direct drive.
    Hydraulic feed rolls? Can you say Krone 😁

    • @Difisi-qe8gf
      @Difisi-qe8gf 4 роки тому

      I think the V12 liehberr engine is too long to be put on direct drive. I wonder if Krone managed to do it on the bigX 1180

    • @kiwidiesel
      @kiwidiesel 4 роки тому +1

      The advantage with using the right angle drive concept means all engine power goes through a transfer case which then allows all the accessory drives like hydraulic pumps etc and you can then gear the main drive pulleys according to the reduction wanted at the cutting cylinder.

      Multi ribbed vee belt drive is amazingly elastic which helps greatly in reducing torque spikes, negates the requirement for a multi disc clutch with mechanical drive and also helps smooths out the engine surging and is virtually adjustment free. You can transfer alot of power over a belt.
