I'm a social educational worker and he reacts exactly as many of the people I work with (young adults with a learning disability caused by autism). You can also see him "fighting" with his brother about holding his mother's arm, which is not common for boys of his age. To prevent this kind of reactions, we always use the signs for "joke" and "funny" when we pranks each other, because in this moment for him it was probably not clear if you were doing this to attack his mother. We were once in a themepark where something similar happened and asked that person to remove his mask and show he was just a normal person (not some kind of creepy monster as some thought). And than we watched from a distance until they all realised it was meant to be something to laugh about.
I had made a comment saying something along the lines of the guy thinking he was Bruce Lee and that Bruce Lee would've put him to shame, I also had said that he must be fun at parties. After I posted that comment someone responded to my comment calling me a racist. I want to make it perfectly clear, I am not a racist person. I never said anything remotely racist about the person in the video, I didn't once use any racial slurs. So because of that I deleted my comment, after reading your comment I totally understand that nobody knows what anyone is going through. My comment was meant to be funny but the person that called me racist thought I was racist(which I'm not), so I'll be more mindful next time I comment something
I reckon the lad is on the spectrum for autism, and its all about how they process things differently than more able-bodied people. I know because my son is autistic and he struggles with sarcasm and jokes, i think this boy just couldnt fully comprehend what just happened and so lashed out. He already looked agitated before he got to you and the scare just amplified it somewhat. You did the right thing in apologising and not escalating the situation by remaining calm. I mean he looked a handful for even his own mum right at the end so yeah it's all good in the end. Keep on making these videos fella as things like this are isolated incidents. Not everyone is n the right frame of mind all day everyday.
Looking at this boy from afar you can see that he was born with an aggressive character or something mental, I don't think his attitude is normal, you can see from afar how nervous his behavior is. sad to see.
He was humiliated by the scare -- his reactions were paradoxical. Maybe that is an example of the so-called "Spectrum" -- he was definitely already a handful for his mom & brother even before you scared them -- mom & brother laughed but he "lost it" some. The foot-stamp threatening gesture was weak but he tried to kick you while his mom held him just back. His "race" is an Extreme Minority in your City of Exeter ... one should wonder how that contributes to his socialization characteristics syndrome. Interesting video from BushLand.

I'm jaded I must understand any kind of person I meet, I want only normal reaction as everybody wants, I want to show mine strange reaction to abnormal reaction, I'm really tired everyone has an excuse starting from an evil father till an upsetting day cause fired at work, I want old school reaction with people supporring each other as in a healty society and not taking out phones to got a good clip !!! No one said this guy had an aggresive reaction, cause this guy is aggressive aside his medical situation. My name is not Jesus and I am not good to that point. I am not a psychologist too to understand this guy have problem and I'm not sure in such a situation a psychologist will got it neither. It's right to point it out and let people know why probably we have a strange behaviour here, but do not try to make it normal, it's weird, atipical, with all the risk to be involved in a fight on both sides, risky pranking bush too. (even friends could have bad reaction to a prank)
