Sir, i am a manufacturing PhD student too. In manufacturing I have worked on artificial neural networks(ANN) and adaptive neural fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) using MATLAB which is said to be the basic of artificial intelligence. I have two questions. 1. Do you think by this profile i can go for fields related to AI (not to core of AI)?? 2. Is python really required to be learnt to enter into artificial intelligence and machine learning.
It looks like you want to be in manufacturing, but not clear if it is industry or academia. If it is academic research, the issue you will be solving will be the same as before but the tool you will be using will be different. Highly recommend that you pick Python quickly, it is the easiest and most used language for AI and ML. Since you already have some knowledge, picking up Python will be the single biggest investment you will make in yourself for the future.
@@Careerbolt Sir, i want to go to industrial research especially in artificial intelligence and machine learning. As you suggested i have updated my LinkedIn page and may be by December i will start reaching out as i will submit my thesis. I will try to learn python.
@@Careerbolt Sir what do think whether learning python in consultancy is better or learning online like Coursera etc. Can you suggest me any means where i get on-field experience and knowledge about python.
Sir I am doing a PhD from NIT Silchar in mechanical Engineering. My field is polymer based 3d printing so i am little confused were to go in future as there has been rumor that jobs for mechanical engineering in india is deteoriating
Hi Vishal, I should have responded earlier. D you want to be in academia or industry? In academia, your choices may be to become a professor in government or private engineering colleges. In industry, 3D printing is a hot field, so you could get some R&D lab to hire you. If you have some additional skills in fluid dynamics and modelling, you could easily get into the aerospace or AI companies. There will be more job opportunities in another 3-5 years. So don't allow the recession and happenings of this year to impact your career decisions. Let me know if you have more questions.
Its real story of research and speaker answered in a very beautiful, practical, logical way
Wwhoever listen it will get satisfied
Himanshu, thanks for the note. Much appreciated. Let me know if you want me to cover certain topics.
Really helpful
Glad it helped
