I just started end of dec 2024 solo. A month into the game as new player. I would say it is worth to play. But need a lot of patience. I mean a lot. It is too overwhelming from start. You are like start in final year of school and try to catch up on what you have miss for the past few years. As long as dont rush, dont try to do it all, its a great game to sink your time. For those who have limited game time, just focus on main story quests and enjoy it. The lifeskilling thing, do it when you have abundant time and want to roleplay to live in another fantasy world.

@@NormalMonkey This is so true it's wild, I may only be 57, but I finished scholar awakening and I'm 5/5 on attack speed and it smooth. My weapons are all pen tuvala and most of my gear is duo tuvala. I am kinda confused on what exactly I should do next after finishing Madevih quest, I am just sticking to MSQ right now.
To all new players, DO NOT listen to doomers saying that the game is "dead". Most of those players are fond of PvP. They sh!t on the game because of the changes that Pearl Abyss did to node wars. As we all know, PvP is not for everyone. Some players just want to grind in peace on their own or just do lifeskills without getting killed by some A-hole. Just try the game first and be the judge yourself. This is coming from a casual player with 33K hours in the game.

If we are to forget pvp or let pvp die alot of the game loses purpose to some extent atleast with current game state as we don't have much pve end game content that stands out

The open world pvp WAS the end game, it was niche, but that was the point. People don’t really understand a true sandbox, where players make the endgame (like Eve Online, also run by PA) PA made all the changes to open world pvp, killing it. But there isn’t any theme park pve to take it’s place. That’s why so many of us left. Nothing replaced the pvp. Also, the pvp was never as toxic as people made it out to be. That claim was disingenuous and exaggerated. The game does not have a point anymore, however, it can still be loads of fun, and is very immersive. It’s also still decently populated. 🫡 good video imo
Why not play it? This game costs only 20 dollars and you will literally have years of content, 20 000- 30 000 hours. (Because of the massive freedom and sandbox and the best combat in any MMO) Please tell me any other game that costs 20 dollars that you can play everyday for years. (And we are still getting new content and new gear, theres an update every 2 weeks)
Good video and hope more poeple will pick up the game then it is one of the few games that can be enjoyed even with big breaks but can also be a good 24/7 game. Not many games have that. Also for new player do not compare yourself with players that playing this game for 5+ years. This game really shine in the way to the top and not just beeing good when you are "capped" in gear / Master levels

Allow me to correct you on the P2W part, its Pay for convenience. the pearl shop has nothing you can't get in game and can be useful, we can't consider the tent as a p2w item. you can get villa buffs remotely, thats all its good for, and the fact that its permanent so you dont have to bother buying another tent every week or so. Villa buffs are now of long durations, you can use the magnus to teleport to the valencia, get the villa buff you want, then keep on doing w/e you was doing. the "poor's" tent which has limited time but you can buy as many of them as you'd want still has the drop rate buffs. also.. melting outfits.. yes. it can be p2w if you are a millionaire and don't mind spending some money in-game. but BDO, compared to Thrones and Liberty, give no chance to the whales to be on the top of the ladder. to be in the top you need practice and skill, some gear on some classes, you can still buy crons from vendors, so consider thanking PA for not removing it. if you are at a point where you can progress without crons then you're in luck, if you are on a point where you don't want to downgrade something like a NOV sovereign then you gotta grind for the silver to buy the cron vendors. but trust me its very dumb to think that a 1% chance for 100$ is p2w.

for new players i will tell you the truth without dooming or anything just the truth (i play all the game content equally for 40k hours) .. this game is a gear progression rpg with heavy grind so no matter what theres no end at the end of the way (cuz they will release new gear every time and give ur current gear to the new players so they can catch up with u wich they wont ) if u dont like to grind 10h per day to catch up with other players or doing life skilling for double the number (wich u will need to buy extra things for it like p2w outfits/p2w pets/etc... wich cost like +150$ and more with 30$ monthly subscribtion) so dont play it but if u like that why not give it a try .. PVE:no real content tbh atm the only thing u do is to rise the number up to grind in circle .. LS: life skilling in this game is fun for those who love to chilling but the most of it is AFK ..PVP: its not ur game cuz pvp in this game is so punishing with no rewards(and u spend money to do it) and u will suffer for doing it (unless u pay for sla*e to grind for u or buy plugin so u can catch up with high end players and doing it) .... at the end of the day its a game and the choice between ur hand.
In my opinion, the only true P2W item here is the cron stone enhancement system. All the other items just make the game more convenient (and pleasant) to play. If you enjoy the game enough, it doesn't hurt to spend a little money to support the game. People act like keeping the servers up and developing content is somehow free. If a game fails to generate revenue, then it will ultimately faulter. Developers and data centers are expenses that somebody has to bare.

0,99€ on Steam. As a new player you receive a crazy amount of gear and gifts plus Season servers. You basically can decide if taking it slowly or blast to the mid-game and face everything head first.

Actually just picked BDO up this week. Got to 52 and having a good time. It's very overwhelming but the combat is enjoyable.

Combat will get way better at 60, night and day. You will unlock all your skill and flow, everything that felt clunky before will vanish.
