I'm mad Spotify are screwing artists on royalties. Not everything has to be on Spotify, they aren't all music ever. There's lots of excellent music not on Spotify. I love Isay as Gigi. She has a natural fierce aura and deep voice that contrasts perfectly with Lea's Kim.
Lea's voice -angelic.. there's innnocence in her voice.. Nothing beats the original!
I saw the production in the early 1990s at the Kennedy Center. I loved the version I saw. In this number, the GIs and girls moved in slow motion upstage while Gigi and Kim sang downstage. The lighting was in blue tones. It was haunting and memorizing.

Yes,me too, I love the originals! I played the songs over and over. The story flowed perfectly thru the music even if you were not watching the performances live. This was amazing!

@scaner1018 The first one is Isay Alvarez and the other one is Lea Salonga. She's only 18 when they recorded this song that's why you are having doubts because she sounded so young.
I think if they make a movie of this... since Lea Salonga is obviously too old now to play Kim, she should play Gigi.
She may have a cameo role but i don't thing she'll ever play Gigi. Considering the demand of the role because Lea's quite conservative.

Hahaha!! Dude, this the original cast in london. This is the 18 years old lea salonga and the original Gigi, Isay Alvarez. Both are filipinos as most of the original cast's major casts.

I recently saw my cousin's production of this musical. This is not a musical I really like by any means. However, Gigi and The Engineer were by far my favorite characters from this show. I actually quite like this song, I just wish that Gigi had gotten a little more focus/elaboration.
