    I’m with you honestly. More and more often I find myself just buying singles instead of breaking wax. As much as I love doing it, it’s just not worth it anymore. For example, the other day I was about to buy a bunch of blasters to go hunting for a card I’m looking for instead I just hopped on eBay and I picked up like five different versions of the card I was looking for for almost the same price

    As someone who didn’t blow a TON of money on investments, and only buys to collect. It’s very hard to enjoy the card shows when everyone has so much money into these cards and won’t move on their price which is usually higher than it should be, or is on eBay/any website or app

    You should definitely buy singles more than break wax. I bought into a break the other day for 120 and i could of bought it for half of what i spent. I dont think theres value in breaking anymore unless you hit big which is rare.

    The truth about card shows is about 95% of people there are sellers and re sellers. No matter if you behind a table or in front of one. It’s just comping cards and offering 10-30% under those comps so everyone can try to profit off each others products. No one makes a killing anymore off buying and reselling at card shows unless they find amazing bulk deals get them graded and sell. But card shows are just one continuous
    cycle of comping dealers or
    dealers offering barely 60%
    of comps on customers cards. Barely anyone collects anymore, they are “investors” now

    I like your take on Chet, but ROY isnt really anything. MVP is something, and Shai > Chet for investing I think? Might have already missed the boat on the cheap Shai cards tho, not sure of his prices?

      @@LootboxTVreviews How many 2nd year players have won the ROY award? JK, I remember when Melo should have beat Lebron, Curry didn't win it. I don't put a lot of stock on it. Chet has some huge advantages over Wemby, like his teamates will pass him the ball, Wemby is on an Island!

    I always hear dollar boxes are the way to go. It seems like the amount of time you have to spend looking and the return doesn’t make sense to me. But that may be from a fairly new collector

    • @dhughes636
      @dhughes636 11 місяців тому

      If you go to a show and hit up all the $1-$5 boxes and mix in a couple packs/boxes/bigger cards too, you end up with a goood solid average per card low price point cuz people will make group deals with you, do it all day or all weekend for 6-8 hours each day and your haul will yield you double or better on your return just takes time listing and posting at the correct prices

    Where is he selling it for 800 and making the 150 bucks? At the show? If you do that on eBay you’re paying 13.25% fees which is 108 dollars not to mention shipping and supplies etc. you made closer to 40 bucks in that case. 650 to make 40 with a ton of risk with price fluctuation.

    Unless you're willing to learn all the sports out there, I don't think going full time is a good idea.
    The big 3 sports card markets are saturated and highly competitive, it'd be hard to make a full time living doing it.

    Worst pronunciation of Chones. It’s Cho-Nez not choney 😀 Advice: Don’t quit your day job to do cards full time. Think about how many people you know that have been doing it full time since precovid and now. CC2 probably the only one. Don’t waste the next year or 2 delaying a career. Cards full time is NOT a thing, unless you just have nothing else to do.

    Way too many plugs in this. Otherwise, I think you should be getting into selling singles to build the pot back up instead of burning all your money on wax. There’s the dollar bins then just buying out collections at 60-70% being the best way to make money. Going full time you have the time to sell off said collections but by bit and make 15-20%.
