Tyrese dropping 30 without his 3 ball going is impressive and he’s responded very well since OKC. Big props to him for doing what leaders do.

Agreed. The question is why don’t we ask him to do this more often? I understand depends what team global playing but when he struggles why not ask this of him (see it from him) more often?

@@itsmytchevery team is a new challenge, it takes time to figure it out when your roster is built around balance and ball movement. Also his back issues aren’t completely resolved, so you never really know which version of tyrese is gonna show up.

It’s something he needs to make a regular part of his game. That should be his next progression. He needs to be able to score outside of 3’s.

@@king_supreme1102 100%. I know the Pacers say it depends on what the defense is giving them and I understand that but to reference Caitlin Cooper's great article "Every game is different, and the Celtics are certainly different from the Thunder in how they wall off the three-point line as opposed to loading up at the blocks and the elbows, but Haliburton was different too in that he didn't stop short of finding out whether the defense would and/or could stop him." and more succinctly "Haliburton didn't leave to chance whether the ball would find his energy, his energy found the ball"

This was the Pacers I think we were all expecting to see this season. Their offense finally got back into its true form, plus they were more locked in defensively.
This was, by a huge margin, Ty's best game of the season. Numbers aside, his aggressiveness created so much opportunity for the rest of the team.
Having Drew back is huge, too. It's not a fluke that we mostly win when he plays and mostly lose when he doesn't. That stretch without Ty or TJ was brilliant. I heard the announcers say something about him having a +20-something on-off when the game was almost over. He deserves flowers for this game, too.

Nemhard has become the player to guard. He helped Haliburton so much. My wife and I can't stand that Celtics PA announcer yelling out "threeeeeeee!!!!" everytime they make one (same goes for Miami). We have the timing down to mute the audio so we don't have to hear it any more. Just wait 1 second after it goes in and keep muted for for 4 more seconds. It works perfect eerytime.

I thought they got very obvious defensive plan for both hali and mcconel. Those blits and traps for hali that why they got nembhard do more ball handling while for mcconel they got kornet defending him and its working.
Thats why nembhard was really effective today. But you can see more the players cutting more and the defense was really really good especially for tatum. Tatum was getting tough shots.
I think if hali will be more consistent the pacers will win more. Siakam can do more if hali will be more effective. Thats why nembhard is very important for them
There were insrances that the lineup is without mcconel and hali and it was effective.

I sent this comment before hearing you. It was really obvious that nembhard was factor during the chess match with the coaches.
I think having nembhard gives them options. And if nesmith will be available, nesmith should be the 1st guys to replace nembhard with 1st unit so nembhard can ride the 2nd unit once hali resting.

Tony - Regarding your “wish centers would just dunk more” comment - Myles went for a pump fake layup and got
Blocked by I think Tatum who snuck behind
Him and it was frustrating and embarrassing. The next two changed Myles dunked it - as he should have the first time. Basically - I agree!

Great game for Hali and the Pacers shout out to them for that but as for the take about him in this game compared to okc with Dort guarding him, I wonder how other Allstar level or higher guards look when playing okc while being guarded by Dort, personally I believe it’s inexcusable to accept nights like that from your “franchise player” definitely when getting paid that much u have to figure it out and if u are being locked up that badly then there needs to be some major player development or if it comes down to it even a new reality on the team identity such as franchise labels and being a 1st option…not saying drop 30 a night but at least show some type of effectiveness 15 - 20 pts against tough defense at minimum, maybe a double double with assists or doing other stuff on the floor like hustle on defense, get rebounds, etc, that could be be just enough to make a presence consistently

no they needed this vs OKC, even if it wasn’t him scoring, the way he was moving off ball this game, and keeping the ball moving was what was able to get it going. nembhard played great that game, but haliburton is what gets this team going. you saw that last night in the way they looked.

It was very unusual for Celtics to miss so many shots in a row. Thank goodness for this WIN! I was not impressed with watching Hali make a shot, and instead of heading up the court to defend the Celtics, he moves laterally to celebrate with a hand slap with Sheppard.
