Thank you! 🙂 I always enjoy seeing those 2 locomotives especially when they are together & leading. Thanks also for subscribing; I'm pretty sure I'm already subscribed to your channel but I'll check now & see that I am.
With all those empties you only need one "QL" to pull that lot, Pacific National had a policy of switching "surplus power" to idle to conserve fuel, they called it "Fuel Miser" at the time. Inherited the concept from FreightCorp.
Makes sense to do that. I have often wondered why three locos always do the run as it's not as if there are lots of hills to climb going south fully-loaded but there must be a reason...an extra just in case of a loco failure perhaps!?! Rarely I see four locos heading north so they pick one up somewhere along the way..
I just realised (yep, slow on the uptake haha) that the south-bound loaded steel trains would need 3 locos to get up to Moss Vale from Port Kembla via Robertson.
Nice work, I got the first two locomotives yesterday on 3BW7.. Also, love your work. I hit subscribe. 😀

@@xptsdamob2524 They will need the three to work the loaded train lad back.
@@dieseldavetrains8988 The steel trains always return north empty.
