PlayboyX63 the only decent ones ive ever seen (besides this one ofc) are the ones from Lorn clips... they use neo Tokio footage. Modern anime is so poorly done its gross, they dont move nor behave like normal people.
Animation syncs up easily to music seemingly at random because of the way key frames are animated where each drawing may be used in threes and fours, therefore lending it to be perceived as synced up because animation is usually created with an inherent rhythm just by happenstance
Dude Akira was the first anime I ever saw, my dad recoreded it onto a vhs after it was on tv once and when I found the movie when I was 8 I was amazed.

Misan7hrope oh man, I wish I had discovered that, people on acid in the 70s found that out by accident. I just think it's crazy unrelated works of art can synch up like this, almost too coincidental. Things like this are why I can't be an atheist.
I see some people saying it don't synch with anything. Let me help. 0:17 The lightning coming from the bike synchs with the quick snare drum hit 0:22 That electronic sound effect synchs the bikers riding out into the city. 0:23 - 0:44 You CAN'T tell me that the music doesn't synch up with all those shots of Neo-Tokyo. 0:55 The ring of light coming from the motorcycle's headlight synchs up with the claps. 1:14 That same electronic effect from 0:22 synchs up with homeboy falling off his bike. 1:28 That smug smile synchs up with the claps. 1:41 When the biker breaks through the alleyway it synchs up with the song's hook. 1:56 The buildup synchs perfectly with introducing the boss of the motorcycle gang approaching. 2:17 Probably the best synch up in the whole video. Enough said. 2:25 These 2 guys about to get into a head on collision synchs with the music build up. 2:33 Akira's lightning wheels synching up to the beat again. The last few seconds kind of synch a little bit. But they're minor and not really worth mentioning.
Lots of work.... but hate to break it to you but the sound was edited. Listen to the instrumental of the Fever. Not the same timing. This video has the same vibes as Mind Heist "fitting" to game trailers back in 2012 or something. If you squint your ears or whatever, maybe...
crazy, people who were mega fans of Pink Floyd did this with the Wizard of Oz and Dark Side of The Moon crazy to see it happen for Death Grips and Akira (I would say both are gen Y/millennial interpretations of psychedelia.) Interesting and cool thanks for the upload
I need some help internet. I remember seeing a video with the same premise as this one and it got deleted for copyright. The difference was that it was like three or four of deathgrips' full albums dubbed over Akira, but what was awesome about it was it was dubbed over a vhs rip of Akira that I can't find anywhere and it looked so damn cool. If anyone can help or knows where to find a reupload somewhere of the original video or a vhs rip of Akira so I can recreate it I'd be eternally grateful.
This is fucking brilliant, my anime of choice was King of the Hill and a younger me and friends would occasionally just be listening to music if it were an episode we had seen before and coincidentally an Emenim verse matched up with several shots of characters talking and we laughed for the rest of the episode and tried to recreate it with other rap songs.
Meant to add in that I would listen to Death Grips while playing Planetside, and it was always a beautiful experience, exmilitary, government plates, and deep web always give me flash backs to random battles because they were the soundtrack for it.
when the cd hits the music box start ExMilitary and play all the way through. Obv it wont last the whole movie but it syncs so well with the movie. been doing this for years.
When I was younger I always wanted to make an action movie and I would make the movements fit to a soundtrack, but not have it on there and someone would eventually piece the two together
honestly it doesn't sync up, it just kind of matches the mood/violence (as someone who hasn't watched akira) I mean, the instrumentals don't develop except at the beginning so it kinda fits anywehre

James White no cuz it's just the unedited scene with music...not AMV
James White I know right
I once saw an AMV for Fastlane by King Geedorah which used Speed Racer that was pretty good.
to be fair, it doesn't have naruto or linkin park, so it's all good.
This song has a much different vibe when you don't have MC Ride yelling at you for 3 minutes straight
Yes XDDD
A much better vibe

Eh, it's kinda outta-sync at the start.

So does the Wizard of Oz, Debby Does Dallas and the third season opener of My Little Pony. Not kidding about the last one.

There was a vid at one point where someone synced NLDW to the season 3 opener and it worked.
