Just took apart my 8k surf. And might have placed some washers in different places. Figured the diagram would help but it all looks the same

I'm sorry I couldn't get my comments to come up, so I couldn't read or even reply.
Luckily, I bought this reel new, and it came with a parts list and diagram.
The only washer I seen are always just on either side of bearings.

What's the switch for near the back bottom of the reel?

How you add a shim to the reel so the braid will be layed evenly on the spool ?

My reel didn't have any shims. I guess I was lucky. I'll post spooling video a bit later and see if I didn't mess up, but this was the 3rd or 4th time I've taken it apart.

    I have a question.
The handle cap pin 0:54 of my Okuma 8k surf came off after a couple of hours fishing.
is that a normal occurring thing? how do you prevent that?

I’ve got 4 Okuma reels, never had an issue on my 8k surf reel (similar to this one but internals are slightly different) but I have had issues on one of my 3000 avenger reels but only that one so I’m gonna say no that shouldn’t be happening. Don’t ask me why it happens because I’m still trying to figure it out. The only thing I can think of is that plastic piece that grabs on to the cogs might not be in place or you may have gotten too much grease or oil on your threads.
