I'm currently working on Harvard's online CS50 course and it's been sooo challenging but fun too. :)
I'm seriously considering going back to college to get a degree in computer science but should I go? What would your advice be? I'm 29 years old with a Bachelors in philosophy and a Master's in studying Asian philosophy. I love school so I don't mind going back for another 2+ years.
simple but precious ... to show like that ... be get good lion man ... sis 🙂
Microsoft engineer with Mac. cool!
Saludos desde Ecuador sigue con tus videos, son muy bonitos.
thank you!

I am definitely not a programmer, but found this interesting. Just curious, I see you prefer Apple, is that c9mmon for programmers working on Microsoft software?
Not really, but it’s fairly common for iOS developers to have Macs.

Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
this was very informative!
I agree - super insightful!

Using MacBook in windows company?
Why do you use a mac book at MS? Always wondered if it was an option to use.
Because I’m an iOS developer and need to use XCode. At least on my team iOS developers get company MacBooks for work use.
@@christinezhou I assume its probably frowned upon to use one outside of the iOS team?
Hi😁😁,To become a software engineer u need a degree in computer science? The software engineer its a like a full stack developer ?
Hey... Christine, I have a big dream to be a software engineer. But i don’t have CSE degree. I learned computer programming since my first year graduation degree. I completed Indian philosophy studies programme. Besides i learned coding. Now, full time, i invest for coding practice and coding project.
Is it possible for me to be a software engineer.....😍😍😍😍
How much do you make I’m 21 in San Bernardino amazed at how far u are in life
Just enough to get by in Seattle! If you’re interested in new grad compensations, level.fyi gives fairly accurate numbers if you input the area & yoe.
working for Microsoft but still using Apple 🍏 😅
Microsoft engineer using apple eco system, very interesting, great video anyway :)
Most iOS devs on my team has everything Apple 😉 thanks man! 🙏🏻
Microsoft uses Apple computers? It is a big progress. Hopefully Apple will start using Microsoft's too.
It’s actually fairly common, mostly for iOS devs.
@@christinezhou Right, thanks, I forgot Microsoft dropped own mobile platform.
I love to be a software engineer... My dream job to be a software engineer.
Please suggest me about programming. I am from non CSE... Already completed 4 programming language... C, C++, Java, Python and Javascript... Now i am joining in coding bootcamp. Is it possible to be a software engineer from non CSE background..?
Technically yes! We actually don’t learn that much coding from school (coming from someone who has a degree from a college with a weak CS program). The hard part would be to pass the resume scanning as there will be many candidates with that academic background, but I’ve certainly heard of people making it. If I were you, I’d network & connect more and use referrals/connections to help with that.
🔥😍
Thank you 🙏🏻

Still not convinced those "trendy" that show details about your place of work/work videos are the smartest way to advance a career. Personally I would be very suspicious of a candidate that I know posted videos about a previous workplace and details on UA-cam. My 2 cents.
Fair point, but I posted this video to help people see how Bay Area MS office is, I’d imagine this will be very helpful for someone deciding between which campuses to work for.
I see your point about workplace security, which is why I had multiple coworkers and managers inspect this video and only posted it when they okayed it.
@@christinezhou Fair enough even better if you got approval, that's the way to go. I wish you the very best, your videos are nicely done nonetheless.
almost pretty good vlog , except for that chai latte part .come on chai itself is a latte !
Haha good point! I recently learned that as well. Will not make that mistake again
In before lay-offs
Yep, graduating early last winter was the best decision made
What!? These food are free??
Yes! Most Bay Area tech companies offer free breakfast, lunch, and dinner! (IDT MS offers free dinner)
Haha. What a cute annoyed face 🤣
LMAO It’s me everyday at work 😂
@@christinezhou welp! Guess you're cute everyday. HAHAHA
so your responsible for BSD’s
This is bay area?
just looks similar to Vancouver
Tech campus looks similar everywhere haha
@@christinezhou :D
Free food??!?
Yuppp so much better than the Seattle offices!
羡慕
I would most definitely become obese working in a place like that ! :P
I feel you 😂😂 takes a certain level of self control in front of all that free food
Hi,l like you
waitt.. what? Working with Apple MacBook at the place(Microsoft) where you supposed to make windows
Who says apple doesn't support windows😂
Microsoft doesn’t just make Windows… 😂 I work on iOS development of a mobile app, so a MacBook is necessary.
@@christinezhou yeah know.its just a sarcasm 😜
Microsoft engineer uses macbook! Is that allowed lol
Lmao yea, it’s a company laptop
What’s your salary? I’m looking forward to apply positions over there! Can you please tell me what entry level are open there. Currently I’m pursuing my bachelor’s degree in business administration! Please guide me through this!
Level fyi has good info
Nice editing also the luts which you used 👍 feels like movie. Loved the video. Keep it up 😊 make more videos like this.
Thanks for the support!
Hi Christine, great video! Could you please tell me a bit more of what kind of projects that you work on to have that Mac lol? I thought Microsoft offers only Surface laptops.
If you’re an iOS dev or you try hard enough to make your case 😂 but it may differ across teams and orgs
@@christinezhou thank you for your reply. That’s fair enough
@@christinezhou so whats inch your MacBook Pro!?and what year the MacBook Pro?
Free food looks great!
love from bangladesh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The sushi 😮
Was good 🥺 can verify
Amazing video!
Thanks for the support!!
Lucky that you don't work for a startup otherwise you will wear a lot of hats as I do (developer, tester, devops, IT, software configuration management...). I worked from 9 to 5 at the office. Then from 7 to 10 at home and of course weekend included. I even don't have the time to record "a day in the life of a software engineer". This time I use for sleeping or eating.
I don’t know your situation, if you have kids wife, large responsibilities, but this could be a good thing, wearing many hats teaches you how tech companies works which you can leverage in creating your own venture or becoming a lead at a Fang company
@@htchamber2776 Yes. I am really happy. I learned so much. Thank you so much for your kind comment 🙏
By the way, how can you prefer Seattle to the Bay Area? :)
The only reason would be lower cost of living & my team is based here 😂 but if I could choose I much prefer the Bay Area
@@christinezhou I did one year as an exchange student in Berkeley and never recovered from that crush for the bay area and California in general...
@@Tech_Publica my high school was in Cali too… biggest mistake to leave CA for Tennessee for college 😂😂😂
@@christinezhou haha pretty much like one going to Charlottesville in Virginia for a Master thinking it was somewhat like Berkeley in California :)
Unrealistic
The only thing special about that day was the Halloween decors, otherwise it was a pretty standard day.
