Isn't it more realistic than being able to swim as fast as you were before losing all of your air? Sure you don't instantly die in rl but the lack of oxygen would make you panic/confused, exhausted, less buoyant and even pass out which would at best make getting to the surface much harder and at worst result in you drowning to death. Of course there is a chance that you could wash up on a shore (ignoring Minecraft not having waves) and surviving by getting rid of the water in your lungs, but in a world where no one can perform CPR on you (unless on multi player and if players are able to perform CPR on each other) I highly doubt that will work. Even if it did I'd rather just die and respawn than wait unconsciously until I either wake up way later or die anyway after waiting for 20 minutes straight or something.

@@QueenVoodo0 Literally nobody in existence drowns in 4 seconds. The vanilla drowning time is actually incredibly realistic besides the taking damage thing. If he actually wanted to make it realistic he should've kept the vanilla drowning timer and added the instadeath when you run out. But no, drowning in five nanoseconds is totally realistic right?

Isn't it more realistic than being able to swim as fast as you were before losing all of your air? Sure you don't instantly die in rl but the lack of oxygen would make you panic/confused, exhausted, less buoyant and even pass out which would at best make getting to the surface much harder and at worst result in you drowning to death.
Of course there is a chance that you could wash up on a shore (ignoring Minecraft not having waves) and surviving by getting rid of the water in your lungs, but in a world where no one can perform CPR on you (unless on multi player and if players are able to perform CPR on each other) I highly doubt that will work.
Even if it did I'd rather just die and respawn than wait unconsciously until I either wake up way later or die anyway after waiting for 20 minutes straight or something.
