Adam is a hypocrite to judge Amanda when he is the one who killed his adoptive mother in cold blood, drove his brother mad by interning him in a French psychiatric institution and first burned his biological mother's face and then induced the surgeons to reconstruct it identical to that of his sister (the writers seem to have forgotten his incestuous feelings towards both Fallon and Alexis).
I’m pretty sure the reason behind the whole Adam pushing Alexis into the fire and using his Fallon’s face as a reference for Alexis’s surgery was just so Liz Gillies could play Alexis because Alexis’s first actress would not be able to finish the series. It also allowed for a new actress to replace Alexis. Though I do indeed agree that it felt forgotten (I’m glad it was).
At least Fallon and Amanda have made good terms usually sisters forgive each other all the time except for brothers like Adam apparently Alexis told Amanda that Adam nearly tried to kill her and Amanda probably knows about their half-brother Steven being locked in a Paris psychiatric hospital from him too
