This is a video made by a fan that cares about the club and players. I always wonder why people who call themselves supporters are so vicious in writing off players, shaming and criticising them. Thank you for acknowledging Jones and understanding the difficult journey he had to go through.
Slot said it perfectly, hes good on the ball but sometimes he takes to many touches or takes to long to release the ball completely undoing the good work he did just before.
@@DJYunkHank Yesterday's press conference he more less said it. He did say he can take too many touches. I think this is some buzz phrase myself and he does not take too many touches. Just a quality smooth player
I'm also a fan of Jones off the pitch. Whenever we've had newcomers in under Klopp's management, I can always spot him befriending and chatting or joking around with them. Mostly seen during training sessions and Inside Anfield videos. Really shows he's a key figure all around!
I think we are all guilty of short memories in football. This isn't the first time we've all thought Curtis has arrived. It does feel more certain this time. However, he still has yet to compete consistently without sustaining injury. He also still stuggles to pick up speed after an injury... some players do. A problem i noticed he had in the past was that he was obsessed with personal battles and thus losing fucus on the team. This attributed to some of his obvious flaws, such as holding on to the ball for too long. It was, im.assuming an ego thing, which is possibly why fatherhood seems to be helping him? Would make sense. Or maybe just getting older 🤷
Can anyone remember what he did to Harry Kane, England Captain, for us at Anfield? Skinned him alive like he was nobody. Find the clips on UA-cam and watch in awe.
Curtis is on top of is game this bredda as it & SLOT is getting the best out of him. We all know he as the potential ability & now is proving it kudos to him. We can't take Villa lightly a mus win game tonight 3 points & we move apply the pressure I think there be upsets this weekend up the reds ynwa
Thirty odd years ago there was an NHL goalie called Curtis Joseph. Everyone called him CuJo (think Stephen King). He even had a rabid dog painted on his helmet. Lets start calling him Cujo cause he's turning into a beast.
I backed Jones that much I wrote his first song 2 years ago to the tune of in my Liverpool home. I also said 2 years ago Trent has Madrid wrote all over him. Also said play Diaz up front. Maybe I should either run a club or a footy channel - "He is our curtis Jones, he is our Curtis Jones, He plays like a scouser and he's got big hair, kopites we love him and all of his flair, he is our Curtis Jones. I have video proof I made this when he was getting hell off everyone. The kid is class.
Curtis is definitely benefitting now from all the various positions and roles he's played throughout his young career. You can see all those different pieces coming together to make the player Curtis currently is. It's like building up a youth player in fifa career mode. Lol
After the transfer window we had, we desperately needed some breakout seasons from some of our lesser appreciated players, and Jones and Gravenberch have stepped up. They're like 2 new signings and we needed that. If we do well this season, then those 2 need to be shown that respect
Scouse-speak is always partly performative. It's laconic and wary. It's not a speech pattern. It's a world view. Curtis Jones is a superb footballer. He always has been, and I agree that there have been times where he could have fallen though the gaps. This is largely due to the fact that he can do a lot of things, well. That put him in competition with other players who were ahead of him in particular roles. His close control, ball retention, calmness under pressure, decision-making, energy and swagger make him pretty much unique from the 6 to 8 to 10. This is crucial now. He dovetails with the principals in those positions, and is the glue that weaves the parts of the team together, and its tempo. If TAA goes, expect the city to turn to Curtis to be their totem. Great things await.
It’s not about “finding his identity” - it’s about being fit. Every single time he has a run of fitness he gets a run of games and people say “oh look, he’s great”. This is a bullshit premise to say he’s never had an identity. This is wool bullshit.
Really enjoyed this video! Where would I find a link to the discord? Hoping to find a place to chat with Liverpool fans less toxic and reactionary than social media.
the one drawback for Curtis is he cooks too much. If he released the ball faster he would be so good. Look at the Diaz pass, no over cooking. Direct pass. Goal
Pep once said that players like Wilshere could be easily found by the piles in la macía... Players like Jones, better than Jones, and way younger as well, you could easily find in any random argentinian football team (just think about Mac Allister) but English scouts seem so clueless, no wonder why England never win anything 🤦🏻♂️
@@LaurenceMcKennaonLFC Jones is useful, but not much more. What I'm saying is that if scouts were to scout Argentina and Brazil they would find genuine gems there; did you know that River Plate sold both Enzo Fernandez and Julián Álvarez for under 30M? That price was before the world cup, see their value and quality now. And also River Plate just sold Claudio Echeverri to Manchester City, where were our scouts? Paying 60M for the new Henderson like Szoboszlai instead of, again, getting flair players like Franco Mastantuono (17yo) already better than Jones? You English people overrate yourselves too much!
@ i said that jones is 1 of the 4 options we have for the double pivot with endo , macca and grav which is not the best depth for the 2 slots in midfield. Szobo and harvey are the options for the no 10.
As Liverpool fans we love to overhype our players after just 10 league games lol. Maybe wait until we win something? Haven't won a major trophy since 2020 btw. Also Jones has improved massively but is getting overrated a bit now.
@@ronaldinhogoat2859 I've noticed all your comments on this channel are- "Don't forget guys we haven't won anything last 5 years" " we are the most gullible fan base there is" "We bottled the league last season" "Not to be the bearer of bad news" Are you seriously a liverpool fan or what? Agree with all the replies to this post, and I'd like to add that this kind of bs is why the media, pundits and everyone else thinks so little of our players. Chelsea haven't won anything in 4 years either and yet pundits are calling Palmer the best player in the league. Why? Because Chelsea fans know how good he is and hype him up all the time. Arsenal haven't won anything in however long yet in the media there's comparisons of Rice to Rodri, Saliba to VVD (lol) and Saka to Salah (absolutely crazy!). Meanwhile Liverpool fans are not only bad at hyping their players up, many like you are constantly saying that they're really not that good! There was an uproar about Vini not winning the Balon D'or, meanwhile Salah had 4 more G/A than him last season and wasn't even nominated in the top 30!! And it's because of fans like you, who'll never praise our players. If LFC fans don't rate their players, how can you expect the world to?
Something about the way jones is playing and the way slot trains his players makes me feel like jones is going into that category of consistent class
