Cole, I identify with the dad thing. After our first visit to the family farm I was told my husband wasn't welcome. Don't bring him back. Then my sister stepped in to offer family dinners and holidays. Now as of last year I was blown away when my dad offered for us to go fishing at the farm. It took years.

So here's the deal. I ALWAYS cry at weddings. Just so beautiful, joyful and full of meaning. Especially after hearing both your individual and couple interviews. So much beauty in the acceptance and fellowship of everyone present. May God continue to bless you.

This was so unbelievably touching and meaningful to me as a gay man who came out at the late age of 37! Though I do not personally know the three of you, I send you all my love.

I'm Gay before i was converted to Mormon church. After a years i left Mormon church years ago. I decided to left the church due to homophobic members. I experience some word's like "are you gay". & Also i left coz no one support me as prospective elder. Im the only convert in my family so it was really hard. I did all everything but my faith to so called "God" was fall apart. Also the feeling of not belong to the other LDS due to family status in life. Literally its so hard breaking to church but i feel more im free now.

I totally relate to your comments on marriage. I am gay, medically proven, but my wife and I married 51 years ago. She got MS 26 years ago and I nursed her at home for 23 years. She was in a nursing home but has since passed. She always accepted me as gay. She was very special. We committed to our marriage no matter what. After she passed, would I find a wonderful man and marry him, which is totally normal and natural for me? I am 76. Am I too old now? Probably. I really appreciated your video, even though I am not Mormon. I was a Baptist minister and missionary in a former life, but told I am not welcome to even attend a Baptist Church, just because I am gay. I don't have a boyfriend and I am not sexually active. I completely relate to your marriage. It is wonderful. All the very best for your future together. Great video. Love to you both.

I'm a little late in viewing this, but so glad I found it... A powerful testimony to love, dedication and determination - love will win in the end. Beautiful wedding, too, so wonderful. Hope some day to see a video of their family that they will raise together. Prayers and respect being sent their way - this day, and always...!

I'm so glad to see this story continue. You make a handsome couple.
Kent you talk of a second adolescence. Boy I understand that. To be 35 and feel like you did when you were 15. Surprised I survived because when you are 15 you have nothing at your disposal. You borrow your folks car you live in your parents home. Now at 35 you have your own place and a job. Going through adolescence at this time in life you could get into real trouble. You do make mistakes and have to ask for forgiveness. Glad you brought that up. People need to know to go slow and be safe for everyone's sake.

This is a wonderful and beautiful story of their path of finding love with each other. So many times families turn their backs on a gay member of their family and do not wish to learn about LGBT and the love that is there. Thank you for their story through their own words.

    Dear God,
I pray that I can have the protection, honesty, and loyalty that Cole and Kent share if you grant me with a man that feels the same things for me one day whether that's still in my 20s, 30s, and onward. God, please grant me with the strength that these husbands have like when they talked so boldly, assertively, and fearlessly about their connection to each other and their community.
    Amen!!!!

Cole ans Kent I just heard your story on the broadcast. I have been out since I was in high school and now I am 33 yrs old, but I feel that I am not good enough for anyone bc I just dnt feel that I am attractive to anyone anymore. What is your thoughts about not thinking about not feeling good enough to have a great somebody in my life? I wish I could find someone that just doesn't just want one thing, and so my thoughts about guys is they want one thing but know there is a good one out there.

Because we’ve tried living perfectly, God didn’t take the gay away like church leaders promised. So obviously the church doesn’t speak for god.
