Hi everyone! I am the one that posted this video. This is not the man that passed away this weekend. That being said, it was a very tragic incident and I am sending my thoughts to Devon's family.
@@Da5ADN Trust they're in contract of they broke it they'd be out of a job and likely have a stain on their career. And even if it's not Disney for any character costume type events you're always in contract to never take the costume off infront of fans/children. It's surprisingly restrictive.
One time I asked Gaston at Disneyland. “Hey how do I get muscles like yours oh strong and handsome Gaston? He replied “um lets see........ you don’t!” Turned and went on his marry way lol 😂
The fact is, he ALWAYS had a comeback (even if it took him a second) without making the girl burst into tears (at that age, it sometimes doesn't take much). And good on the girl for holding her ground and not backing down. This is one of the more special character interactions I've ever seen, and I worked in Disney parks for years. Both the girl and Gaston played that PERFECTLY.
I think she is very smart and self assured and understood his character was too self centered for Belle and the beast was actually Tame, Loving and Gentle. Children are smart!

I wonder if the Disney characters are required to learn a bit about child development at different ages so better to understand and interact with children of all ages ? A gift of gab and good acting certainly but what if the little one had a meltdown or ? I have a degree in this and did some children's theater going into schools and performing live theater. We did a version of Treasure Island and the kindergarteners would sometimes get rather frightened by the pirates ( A school from k - 8 audience ) We had signals to stop and freeze while a cast member staying in character would reassure the little ones by doing something funny like " perhapse we should spank the naughty pirate ?! Or hide the treasure from them - over here do you think they will find it ? Lets find out ! Then they woyld act silly and pretend to cry while another - usually the offending character would have a silly temper tantrum to make everyone laugh . At the shows end we usually had lunch with the little ones and let them see the props ,but most importantly help us to take off our makeup. The scary pirates become regular people and taught a good lesson about real and make believe. We never left until each child was okay .
The guy who played Gaston: He stays in character the whole time He is interacting with the little Girl and entertaining the Adults around He is staying calm the whole time and he is making his money with this job - he is great!
And he has to walk a tight balance. Because Gaston is arrogant, he has to play arrogant, self-involved, say insults, but tame ones that don't hurt their feelings. Yet somehow make them feel good about themselves, AND BE FUNNY WITH EACH LINE. Very tough line to walk.
That actor... He tried so hard... I respect that in the extreme. Playing off a "heckler", even a cute one, is hard. But that's what he's there for: to entertain.
I think that's the fun part for them. They're usually people into acting and who preferably like kids when they get these jobs. It's a stressful job but I don't think a good ribbing from a little girl is the stressful part

The guy who plays gaston is amazing. His interaction with the people at Disney land is beyond any character I have seen there. He makes the dreams of children come true and I praise him for it
Ten or twelve years ago, my local movie theater had a "Beauty and the Beast" sing-along. I wore a red polo, yellow deer skin gloves, and a pair of my girlfriend's tights, and sang all of Gaston's parts. I was the only adult male in the theater belting out his lines. I had the place in stitches. After the movie, kids and their families took pictures in the lobby, including a little girl in Belle's yellow ball gown. It was amazing.
YES DUDE!!! I would’ve loved to be there to see that! You KNOW you made it a thousand times more fun for everyone there and probably even got some people who wouldn’t have been singing to sing along:)
That is one thing about the actors who play the characters, they are kind to the kids, I know some probably fake being kind a little because it is just a job to them but some, like this guy playing Gaston, actually seems to adore kids and it is really sweet to see him playing along with her.

I don't know how I ended up here but I have to admit that performer did a great job playing with the little girl while maintaining his character the whole time. He's clearly got chops.
Considering he was being derogatory and sexist towards that little girl by telling her to make a sandwich, I doubt he would make a good father. If I was that little girl's father, I would see to it that actor get fired. Misogyny, racism, homophobia, etc have no business being in Disneyland, a place that's supposed to be a safe haven for families.
This just brightened up my entire day. I’ve never been to Disney but this guy is really getting into his character and thinking off stuff to say on the fly and it’s amazing. That little girl probably felt amazing after standing up to him. Such a nice memory for her to look back on.

Not only will Isabella always have this wonderful memory of her exchange with Gaston (and video) . But this gentleman portraying Gaston has put smiles on millions of faces and touched many hearts by his wonderful interaction with this little girl . Not bad for a so-called Disney Villain.
This girl will remember this event as long as she lives. Bless the guy playing Gaston ! These are the moments performencers live for, at least me. To see the fire and energy in another person, captivated by what you are doing, knowing you created a memory.

That actor handled this extremely well. I've imagined being a Disney theme park actor and this is exactly what scares me: ie what would happen if any of the park goers decides to insult or provoke you. It can be tough if you don't know how to handle/manage people.
That is why the princesses rarely ever do meet and greets without a prince with them. That many creeps sexually harassed the princesses they had to pair them with the princes for protection
This is different in the sense that she’s enamored with the film and really sticks up for the Beast. she isn’t insulting him, she’s standing up against Gaston. that actor understands it very well and plays along. It’s different from people that try to get a rise out of you or make you look like a full.

Not only will Isabella always have this wonderful memory of her exchange with Gaston (and video) . But this gentleman portraying Gaston has put smiles on millions of faces and touched many hearts by his wonderful interaction with this little girl . Not bad for a so-called Disney Villain.

That actor handled this extremely well. I've imagined being a Disney theme park actor and this is exactly what scares me: ie what would happen if any of the park goers decides to insult or provoke you.
It can be tough if you don't know how to handle/manage people.
That is why the princesses rarely ever do meet and greets without a prince with them. That many creeps sexually harassed the princesses they had to pair them with the princes for protection
This is different in the sense that she’s enamored with the film and really sticks up for the Beast. she isn’t insulting him, she’s standing up against Gaston. that actor understands it very well and plays along. It’s different from people that try to get a rise out of you or make you look like a full.
