While in Walt Disney World in Florida, I happened to catch a very funny moment between the villain Gaston (from Beauty and the Beast) and a very determined little girl.
Gaston does meet and greets by his tavern in Fantasyland and I highly suggest taking time to meet him. He is always really funny!
Please be nice in the comments, especially towards Isabella. She is a very sweet kid and I want this to be a good memory for her. - Розваги

The fact is, he ALWAYS had a comeback (even if it took him a second) without making the girl burst into tears (at that age, it sometimes doesn't take much). And good on the girl for holding her ground and not backing down.
This is one of the more special character interactions I've ever seen, and I worked in Disney parks for years. Both the girl and Gaston played that PERFECTLY.
That actor... He tried so hard... I respect that in the extreme. Playing off a "heckler", even a cute one, is hard. But that's what he's there for: to entertain.

@@Da5ADN Trust they're in contract of they broke it they'd be out of a job and likely have a stain on their career. And even if it's not Disney for any character costume type events you're always in contract to never take the costume off infront of fans/children. It's surprisingly restrictive.

Okay, this guy was AWESOME. He stayed in character perfectly while making it a funny, hilarious and very memorable experience for that little girl. Serious kudos to the actor!
Ten or twelve years ago, my local movie theater had a "Beauty and the Beast" sing-along. I wore a red polo, yellow deer skin gloves, and a pair of my girlfriend's tights, and sang all of Gaston's parts. I was the only adult male in the theater belting out his lines. I had the place in stitches. After the movie, kids and their families took pictures in the lobby, including a little girl in Belle's yellow ball gown. It was amazing.

The intriguing thing is that this brings up the question of how far his gimmick should go. Although his character is supposed to be unlikable, how will the child interpret the "make a sandwich" comments? It'd be interesting to hear exactly what the supervisors of these actors would say.
Either way kudos to both him and the girl. I wish they had a Gaston back when I used to visit Disneyland.

danc0nia The girl knows he is the bad guy, she new it before she met him. So because he is the bad guy, she will imidiatly assume everything he says is wrong and negative! SO maybe when she is older and someone else says something to her in the same lines, she will associated it to something villains say! I think its great, and Im pretty sure he got a little nervous during this whole 'argument', I think he chose his words very carefully and was great!
You also have to remember that Disney parks are a family outing, and the whole family should be entertained. Even if the actors/actresses drop rather adult jokes that aren't of sexual nature for obvious reasons, the adults will be entertained since it's a joke and the kids probably won't understand it.

That is one thing about the actors who play the characters, they are kind to the kids, I know some probably fake being kind a little because it is just a job to them but some, like this guy playing Gaston, actually seems to adore kids and it is really sweet to see him playing along with her.
It's great, isn't it? You can see he's being kind even though his character is arguing. It's fantastic.

Yeah, personally I found that to be enlightening. Portraying patriarchy as villainous is a good thing, and clearly the little girl knows that's what he is: A bad guy. The power of art is compelling, and if we're going to address sensitive topics with children, why not use art as a medium?

Yeah, Gaston is the villain who states clearly in Beauty and the Beast that he doesn't believe women should think, so everything he said was perfectly in character. If people raise a ruckus online and cost this man his job, that's going to be one hell of a loss as he portrayed the character to the utmost.

The actor playing Gaston (excuse me, I meant Gaston) is a wonderful improv artist. I am an actor who at one time auditioned for the role in the Broadway company and I marvel at his ability. Isabella certainly holds her own against him and is worth her weight in gold!

I agree! It was cringeworthy, but that just serves to point out how stupid those remarks are anyway! I believe there's a time and place for sexist jokes and that is only if you're playing Gaston! He took a risk as an actor, but it worked, as it reaffirmed him as a villain.
I think she might have been making a reference to Cinderella. She tells him her second favorite character is a princess but not Belle and Cinderella works in the kitchen. He was making a joke and going along with the child's game. At least thats how I interpreted it.
