I recently bought this laptop and I tried a benchmark like Cinemark and it's performance has destroyed my old laptop but that's relative. I did checkout the compatibility list and it was quite extensive, so I'm not worried, my main reason for the purchase is that I'm definitely in the Samsung ecosystem. I tried Apple (phone and tablets so far) and I really just can't bring myself to like Apple, but I very much respect Apple products, just not for me.
@@kind2de I’ve noticed the compatibility list has improved over time which is why I couldn’t recommend it at the time I had it but did stipulate that it could be recommended at the point for which the software I need is available. As long as you know what you’re going to be using the laptop for and the software is compatible and optimized, it’s a great laptop. I have used both Samsung and Apple’s ecosystem and have always come back to Apple’s simply because it is best for my needs. Samsung’s ecosystem has vastly improved over the last few years. Glad it is doing well for you. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@Tech4YourNeeds Exactly! I know when Apple first released their M1 Macs, some software wasn’t compatible, it developers had their opportunities with the Mac Mini Dev kits to make their software work. Most of the common software did work and companies like Adobe and Black Magic (Davinci Resolve) got their applications ready. It was some audio editing software that didn’t work right away but it was stuff that wasn’t the commonly used software. They didn’t release the hardware and advertise it for certain things and have the software not ready. On the other hand, there were demos for video editing and photo editing and some gaming on the Snapdragon chips, but that stuff wasn’t ready and seems like still isn’t fully hashed out. I’d say wait 6 months and maybe by the time they’re working on the second generation of chips for next year, developers will have their software ready. With all of the big names they showed off on stage, you’d have thought they would have been working with them and software developers to make sure the major softwares for video and photo editing were ready.
@@terranceotis9962 Different perspectives and different experiences. Doesn’t make my video wrong. I will stipulate that updates to certain apps have helped. Which is why I said at the time I made the video I couldn’t recommend it for certain people, but given time that could change or for basic tasks it’s great. I loved it for what it did well.
I am literally on the edge (no pun intended) of hitting "click" on the best buy website to buy the Book4 Edge. Decided to do a little more homework before I buy and boy am I glad I noticed your comment LoL. Seems like most issues have been fixed over the last few months with this device.
I purchased mine 2 weeks ago, then the screen just went out I returned it and debating on switching my entire eco system to apple again. I have samsung everything and was loving it until this moment
I’ve used both. Always end up back with Apple for the simplicity and ease of use and how everything just syncs without having to sign in to a bunch of different accounts. It’s not cheap to switch. I’ve gone back and forth several times. It comes down to which operating systems you favor and finding the best deals. If I can answer any questions I will try to.
Is the samsung apps running through the translation layer? That's what I am worried about because when I open a samsung app it consumes a lot of battery
@@CodydaUwUCawio Their translation layer seems to be very power consuming, from what I’ve seen. Not really optimized but just made so certain apps can run even if they probably shouldn’t be allowed. From what I could tell for the short time I had this laptop, their own apps are running natively. So, much lower power consumption.

That makes sense you need reliability. I agree with you. Not waiting for the promise that is going to age better you need it to work now.

I love this laptop. I have had it for two weeks. Don't listen to this video!

@@terranceotis9962 Also, with the price drop, I could say it’s worth it for $300-500 less than it was at launch. Thanks for sharing your experience.

will it handle VM linux ? or should I go for Huawei matebook 14 ?
I don’t have it anymore but if you’re looking to run a VM, I’d stick with X86 for now.
