MY DAD WONT LET ME DO THIS SO I WANTED TO SEE IF YOU WOULD: Try making a tennis ball canon by getting PVC that the tennis ball fits snug in and cut the pipe around 3 feet long. buy an end cap and drill a small hole in the bottom, stand up the PVC pipe and put the end cap on the bottom. Use about 1 tablespoon of gas and light the canon through the hole in the bottom. Then do the same experiment with a closed end cap and drop dry ice in the pipe.
I’ve done this before but instead of lighting with fire and using gas, I use hairspray and make an electric spark to set it off, it’s more safer that way. Anyway, basically it just launches.

Can you test these solutions on other materials? Like painted wooden panels to see if they could potentially help protect homes from fire?
Great video, but I wanted to see how a regular piece of paper soaked in only water and let dry would perform. The baking soda and the borax in methanol were pretty similar in effekt, stayed on fire for a while. Maybe water itself without any additional stuff in solution does have an effekt, too?

Could you determine which type of paper smokes the best without catching fire after being treated with a solution of salt peter (or something else nontoxic), water, and fragrance (homemade incense papers).
The salt peter recipe is from pre-1800s and probably uses untreated paper equivalent to homemade or cloth ribbon.
